I'm (not) ashamed to admit, I don't know how to play Minesweeper. When I was a child, I used to click randomly until I lose the game. I don't remember ever winning, though.
Minesweeper is a single-player puzzle video game where you have to clear a rectangular board containing hidden mines.

The objective is to clear all non-mine cells without detonating a mine.
