Dcity Helper #010: Boosting Trumpman's SIM income with 23%

in LeoFinance4 years ago

Welcome to the 10th edition of Dcity Helper.

For some time now, i have been helping Dcity newcomers with free cards. I started doing this in collaboration with former Dcity president @ecoinstant and continued doing so when @thegoliath took over the presidency.

At the same time i have been helping @jrcornel with advice on how to build a Dcity Powercity and i have enjoyed watching him climb the ranks (currently 7th) ever since.

Earlier today i saw a relatively small player, @trumpman, buying a lot of new random cards and never being shy to giving a helping hand i decided to feature his city in today's post.

On first glance his city looks pretty decent, but there were enough things to optimize, for me to get to work on it.

This is what his city looks like now.

The first thing that i noticed, is that Trumpman has 2 Social Aid office's, but no unemployment. As prices for SOA's are pretty good at the moment, i am going to free those up to generate some extra cash for income cards.

As usual i will use the on/off buttons on the map page to simulate the selling of these SOA's. As this will probably give a small unemployment, i will be selling some of his immigrants as well.

Next to this i will give Trumpman 3 tech cards that will increase his income. These 3 cards are Basic Automation, which will increase his factory income with 3 SIM each, Eco Energy, which will increase the income from his wind turbines and solar plants with 2 SIM and Fully Automated Brewery, which will double his Beer production.

This is what his city look after those changes.

The immidiate effects are an increase of SIM income of 1330-1277 = 53 SIM per day. This comes down to 19,345 SIM per year, or 92,85 Hive. Considering that the 3 tech cards i gave him only costed me 11 hive, this is a pretty good return on investment: 844% APR.

Some tech can really work miracles and i can't wait to see what new tech @Gerber has in store for us in the 3rd edition.

But we still have the cash from the 2 SOA's and 27 immigrants we sold.
The cheapest Social Aid Office on the market now is 69,79 Hive and immigrants are going for 0,45, giving us a total of 151,72 Hive to play with.

At current market prices i would recommend investing those in 28 restaurants, giving him 280 daily SIM income extra, which after today's taxes is 244 per day.

This means hit total increase would be 297 SIM. On the 1277we started with, this is a nice 23% increase.

I'd like to thank @onealfa , @rollandthomas , @thegoliath , @ecoinstant , @jrcornel and everybody else who supports my Dcity Helper posts, your votes matter and help me give away more cards on each new Dcity Helper post!

Wow! This is quite nice! Would be great if I can get my dCity tuned as well :)

@steemmillionaire

I will, i have seen some optimizing possibilities in your city and i like that your post about your Dcity investment results. It allows me to show how good an investment Dcity really is.

FUCK ME IN THE ASS!!!!!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Honestly I look dcity as a passive investment. I had my previous city abandoned, yet got almost all my initial investment back so i thought to throw some extra cash.

Thanks again for the free cards!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, well that's not really my thing, but i appreciate the sentiment. ;-)

What a great initiative!
I'm checking out some Hive games at the moment.
The only thing I don't like is that there is no option to try the games out.
For most you have to invest first to be able to play.
I did this for Splinterlands, played for a while but not anymore.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

@friendlymoose Yes it is an invest to play, but i can guarantee you that it is a great investment.
My advice would be to buy a basic city setup on the market if you want to start out small.

Some basic homes and forests are a great first step to see how the economics of the game work.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It could be a great investment when you keep playing it.
Buy if I invest, play for an hour and totally dislike the game I threw away my money. That is what's holding me back.

@friendlymoose

It's quite a passive game, so it's not like you are playing it in the traditional sense. It's more a question of logging in from time to time and finetuning your city.

For sure you won't throw away your money, you can always sell your cards on the market again if you'd decide it's not for you. Or dm me in the Dcity discord and i'll take them off your hand if you are really that worried ;-)

Allright, I'll give it a try then :)
Do you have any good beginners guides or other tutorials?

You can find some tutorials on the info page on Dcity.io
Or feel free to dm me.

Your balance is below 0.3 HIVE. Your account is running low and should be replenished. Check out the Dustsweeper FAQ here: https://hive.blog/dustsweeper/@dustsweeper/dustsweeper-s-faq

Awesome. Learning a lot of things about Dcity just by reading this post. :)

@juanvegetarian Thanks, that is one of the goals i have with my Dcity Helper posts.
Did you start a city yourself already?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Your Dcity Helper posts are great man. No, I have not started a city but would love to. How much HIVE do I need to spend to start a city and what should I get?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You can start a city for 4-5 hive if you buy 2 basic homes and a forest. Or you could do what i did and sink a year's worth of education in. ;-) Or anything in between. Whatever you do, it's all about balance.

You can look me up in the Dcity Discord if you need some pointers to get going.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks man. I will follow your city building advice.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

btw, Ill keep the social aids. I probably won't play the game for a long time so with all the new immigrants and stuff they will come handy, right?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

@trumpman2 One could come in handy, two i think is over-redundant.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hmmm. Ok! I will sell one. What should I get in return? Any suggestions? here's one more full leo upvote for your trouble :P

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

@trumpman2

Well with the 3rd edition coming soon, i think you should get your hands on as many 1st edition income cards as you can. ;-)

I know i do.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I just got started with DCity, but already closing in on the top 400. The returns are pretty good considering the investment. What a cool way to support up and coming DCit-iers or whatever we are called.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Wonderful to see, I love strategy and sims and have my account at dCity but am in poor third world South Africa so can't relate to spending my Hive or splashing out on cash. And the learning curve in dCity still has me stuck. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have two basic houses and two immigrants and 1 homeless so far.

Well my advice would be to spend atleast something and get yourself an income building to get those citizens to work.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Aha, that sounds good. Let me find an income building.

Yet another good remodeling. Those technology cards are a real game changer, IF you manage to get them, that is. Especially the factory one that cuts the workers in half.

Thank you Sir. :-)

It's funny, because those fatory efficiency cards start to work against you when your city grows bigger and your main concern in fighting unemployment.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Makes sense, as the popularity boost becomes a burden instead of a positive. So that's why social aid offices go for that much.

Feedback from the November 1st Hive Power Up Day

Yeah Dcity is very confusing.. I would sell some of my homeless or immigrants.. but don't know how. My SIM income dropped 50% in the last week or so.. I would change the name of my city to Detroit... except the crime rate isn't high enough

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

A good guide and a generous deed indeed! :)
as a more experienced player you offer nice strategies, very similar to mine...
although I decided my city to be kinda EcoTown :)

one quick question: Does my AutomatedBreweingTech card doubles my BEER production, when I just bought the Tech card (having a ResearchCenter)?? [not so important for me right now actually...gonna discover that factor]
ps. no other Techs unlocked due to my Education lvl :)

I enjoy the game and I hope it stays progressive instead of destructive :)

ps2. my investments were made right after my (almost full) HIVE powerdown,
so my goal is to just reinvest and keep the dcity balance and probably grow to another stage of gameplay...

soo..Good Luck anyone and have a nice play!
