Buidl, Hodl, Rekt

These three terms are common in crypto, but it got me thinking about an idea I have been meaning to float in regards to typos. If you think about "hodl" for example, it would be a common typing error, but unless dyslexia was present, it would never be written. While spelling errors happen, "write-os" like this would be rare. But, this isn't what I was thinking about.

We have two hemispheres of the brain and there is evidence to suggest that each acts quite differently, with each not necessarily having a very good idea about what the other is doing. When I was a kid, I explored this a little without knowing much more than that there was a separation and I tried writing with my left hand to see what happened. While it was harder to do since I am right-handed, what I did notice that there was seemingly a difference in my thinking processes, but I didn't know if it was real, or just because what I was doing was quite foreign to me. A few months ago I listed to an interesting Sam Harris Podcast on the Divided Mind which is worth listening to.

What I was wondering though, is that normally when we would write or use a tool, we would be doing it predominantly with our dominant hand, which is reinforced over time as dominance creates habits through repetition. How much impact does this have on our thought processes as we are working and then, is there a difference in the way we think when we are typing instead, which is a skill we have learned after learning to read and write. I wonder if not only do we think differently, but do we behave differently at a keyboard, and does this explain some of the difference in the way we are face to face and how we tend to be online.

I have no idea if there are studies on this, but I would say that everything we do has an effect on what we think and what we think, has an effect on what we do - creating the cycle of creation, thought, word and action.

Thought, Word, Action

this is the process of creation and generally cycles through in this order, where activity inspires though, though starts a dialogue and action follows to inspire more thoughts. This is how I see the crypto industry building , with the role of developers and early adopters being to inspire thought through action, like that of an artist who paints a picture to inspire a reaction in that of the viewer, a thought, a discussion and perhaps, a change in behavior, however slight.

Everything we do has a consequence of some kind on the future and a lot if what we are doing now in the industry is being watched by many, thought about, and acted upon. It isn't just in the media hype and drama at the ups and downs, it is in the many industries that are trying to work out the best way to take advantage of new tech and new possibilities. Some of these players are looking to increasingly control populations, some are looking to help those same populations take control of themselves.

Good, Evil, Evolution

A lot of the scene is set up as a battle, like a good and evil epic, but it is less than that and more, as this is evolution in motion, an animal adapting to the environment and in so doing, changing the environment in which it exists. Humanity is this animal, we always have been, as we have skills to use, thought, word and action in ways that no other animal can to affect our environment, for better or worse.

In the case of the blockchain and crypto scene, it is working in the economic and business environment as a little animal amongst established giants, yet it has them worried, because it has so much potential to help the giants, but there is a lot of risk that it will seed and sprout, changing the economy that they own and operate, in ways they can no longer rein. But it is their greed that will be the gateway in, the crack in the pavement that gives just enough space for the flower to take hold.

As said, everything we do is a signal to others, part of the evolution of our species and signals get read, thought about, discussed and acted upon, Yes, there is a lot of hype on the promise, but bit by bit, things are building and based on this, many are holding in the hope for a better outcome than the current system, where most people are crushed through the processes. And, many are going to get wrecked in the evolutionary process, either financially in the volatility or, through the inability to adapt to the changing environment, one that is changing based on us through the processes of supply and demand.

If we want a better world to be supplied, we have to demand a better world and the only way it will be developed, is if we develop it ourselves. As we do, it sends a message out and while many will focus on the rivalry between the new and the legacy, what is actually the most important part is the enablement of those to come, the ones who see the flower survive and thrive, and choose to follow down the same path, widening the cracks in the pavement and demonstrating it can be done and making more space for the next generation to follow again. Eventually, it is a thriving, self-sustaining and diverse ecosystem.

It is easy to take part in this world, but it is hard to have ownership of it. However, it is getting easier to be more than consumer fodder, it is possible to be an owner who directs the evolution of society. It doesn't mean it won't be without challenges or loss, but being part of humanity gives us tools to use in our environment to shift our future and perhaps, make it better for those who come in and take our place.

Well said, Taraz. If people are actually getting #rekt right now, it's likely because they had leveraged loans and long positions that were liquidated. I imagine there was lots of that, but those types of instruments are further away from the fundamental purpose of cryptocurrency... and I don't recommend doing much of it (if any). Thanks for sharing this detailed stream of thought... positivity is good right now. :)

I was reading somewhere how the futures market played a massive role in the setup process for this collapse - tools of the traditional trade. I think it is human nature to overreach after a little success and in a bull market, there is the feeling of success.

Indeed, and if you remember what collapsed the 2017-2018 bull market it was the first futures listing and traders / investors able to short Bitcoin easily.

When you let a fox into the hen house...

I liked your publication @tarazkp, we are always moving forward, in evolution, that's why today's technology is better than yesterday's and the rich of today are sometimes not the same as yesterday, everything always changes and it has to be for the better 😎.

Hopefully it is for the better, but I wouldn't say it always is :)

Rekt seems more like either not knowing how to spell or having too much fun with phonetics than a typo XD

Any type of writing implement can let you scream into the a void so I think the only difference a keyboard would specifically make is that it's a lot easier :)

yes, rekt is a bit different to a typo.

When I was a kid I read about a techniques of asking a question with the dominant had, answering with the weaker - as it supposedly gives a different perspective :)

Oh that's an interesting one, did you try that? Or is that what you were trying? Short term memory what's that ^_^;

I wonder if that works for ambidextrous people? o_O

And, many are going to get wrecked in the evolutionary process, either financially in the volatility or, through the inability to adapt to the changing environment, one that is changing based on us through the processes of supply and demand.

Evolution is never easy or painless. The weaker species always get left behind. And, as I learnt yesterday, with technological developments, there is no going back.

Pandora's box - for better or worse.

It surely looks like it at the moment.

But if you did not sold, you did loose yet ! 😉

I am still HODLing and very happy that I was not leveraged for once...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have never leveraged trade, because I have no idea how to :D

Never learn about it then haha. You will get rekttt faster 😂

¿A.H.S.? :)

It is easy to take part in this world

Speak for yourself - I find it pretty hard.

Lol.

But you take part in that ecosystem, in this world already...you are part of the crack. I just joined the crack because I have faith in it and maybe I become another plant.

The ownership is harder to accomplish because we have to withstand those trying to rip out the plants from the crack. It is hard to establish our own ownership and to keep watering our own plants in a way that they survive.

The example of @ybanezkim26 being able to accomplish to become a licensed diver through that crack shows that it can be possible...to take part in this world, in this crack and thrive through it.

It was the example that gave me hope and even though I may be wrong, taking part in that world has given me more already than I had before.

Lol my language is just as cryptic as the currency here 😄

Anna, are trying to totally confuse me tonight? You need to keep things simple for a knucklehead like me...I'm a blunt instrument you know, not so smart. Lol.

Ahhh you are smarter than you make yourself believe...your self is probably thinking what is wrong with him 😂.

If you are just a blunt instrument then...transfer all your Hive to me....lol, you are not an instrument!

You become one if you believe that you are. I'm not saying that getting rid of seeing ourselves as instruments is easy, it shakes our conditioned thinking, but it may be the only way to make the change. It is the demand...

we have to demand a better world and the only way it will be developed, is if we develop it ourselves.

Ok enough confusion now lol...I have to unravel myself first 😄

If you are just a blunt instrument then...transfer all your Hive to me....lol, you are not an instrument!

I would if I knew how...I'm not that smart though! So...No G-dog crypto for you! Lol.

Damnit, the instrument is broken 😉

A malfunctioning instrument. Broken as hell.

I live through that crack full time. Although I'm working as a part-time researcher, I live through Hive. I was able to buy things I only dreamed of acquiring before. I recently bought long fins for my freediving which I know I couldn't afford before.

See that is so great and I'm really happy for the opportunity you have been given through Hive. It may not be possible for everyone now but it shows that it can be possible.

It's because I continued when most of my peers left because blogging was not lucrative anymore through the 2 years bear market. I continued posting quality content because I believed in the platform. And I say it pays off for me. This is a long-term game for me so I just grind through day by day. The curator positions came in later.

That's how I see it for me, a long term thing. And who knows what it will lead me too. Still on the way to find my role here but the exploring is fun and revealing.

I think I definitely act differently behind the keyboard than I do in real life. I am much more talkative, that is for sure. I struggle with small talk in real world situations, but I can handle it pretty well here behind the keyboard. I think that is part of the reason I just stick with blogging and have never bother to explore vlogging too much.

Well said. This reminds me of an old phrase, 'If you see the need, heed the calling,' Action begins with us. Only then can we insure things get done. LOL Enjoyed.
