(A Journey To Kinabatangan)

Happy weekend to all Hive users who are currently reading my blog. Having a good weekend? I hope you all enjoyed spending time with your loved ones and your family. My mother and I have already made plans to visit Kinabatangan on Sunday.

Our original schedule called for us to travel to Kinabatangan the day after Malaysia's election, but because we were waiting for the results, we were unable to get enough rest and had to cancel our plan to Kinabatangan last two weeks ago.

We went here because of my daughter. My daughter had her training at the clinic that we want to visit before beginning a permanent job at the new clinic in our hometown. Additionally, since we previously only passed through this small town on our way to Lahad Datu or Tawau, we'd like to see how it's doing.

My friend came to pick up the three of us at 7:30 am, so we left home at that time. Given that the clinic will only be open for a half-day on Sunday, we intend to visit then. After eating breakfast, we left for Kinabatangan, which took us an hour to get to. The driving distance between Sandakan and Kota Kinabatangan is 77 kilometres.

A district in Kinabatangan is close to a number of east coast districts, including Sandakan and Lahad Datu. The area of Kinabatangan is sizable. A Chinese relative named Ong Sung Peng arrived in the 16th century and gave the area the name Kinabatangan, which means the Long River.

The Kinabatangan District is renowned for its beautiful and breathtaking riverside scenery! Sabah's longest river, the Kinabatangan River, is home to a variety of wildlife.

It is best to travel by water to explore the breathtaking scenery along the river because the calm, wide, and deep river serves as a habitat for a variety of aquatic life. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the town's interesting surroundings because me and my mother were afraid to get lost in this small town.

However, we are only able to explore this portion of the small town. The scenery is nice here. The people are so kind and friendly. I guess they found it weird to see me with my mobile phone, just taking a snap of the scenery.

One uncle even asked me why I took the mountain picture, and I replied that it was a beautiful view. The left and right sides of the road are bordered by mountains and tropical rainforests. The fact that it wasn't raining and it was quite hot made me lucky too.

We spend the remainder of our time at the clinic. Despite the clinic's small size, people had been lined up since we arrived until noon for a very long time.

The clinic will only be open until 12:30pm on Sunday because it is a half-day. But because of how good he is, this doctor doesn't keep track of time and will treat patients until there are no more left, despite what time it is.

After the clinic closed, we had lunch here in the town. I didn't manage to take any pictures of the restaurant. I was too hungry because I had a small breakfast that morning.

After that, we went on the lookout for fruit while patrolling the small town. We plan to go to the locals public market where they sell fruits and vegetables.

(Public Market Kinabatangan)

By the time we reached the market, I quickly went over and snapped some photos for the fruits-themed week on Asean-Hive Community hosted by @justinparke . After purchasing the desired mandarin oranges, bananas, and vegetables. We hastened back to Sandakan.

I guess the heavy lunch I had made me too sleepy, but with all the beautiful scenery, I've changed my mind. I took some photos and videos of the journey back to home. Oil palm plantations can be seen on our left and right as we travel.

I used to travel to Lahad Datu and Tawau, and I would cross this road, but I never really felt the way that I do now. It is extremely lovely and I'm not sure why, but as I get older, I'm beginning to understand how important the idea of forests and other greenery is to our natural world.

The peace and beauty of nature seem to become more significant to me as we age. At the same time, we talked about the project we'll be working on next year and our intention to open a bistro with a forest theme.

I know this forest or jungle theme bistro would be great. I had so many things in mind, and I will have to meet back all my friends in the restaurant and tourism businesses. I have a plan to collaborate with them in the future.

We got home around 2pm. As soon as we got home after the early Sunday morning journey, me and my mother had a long nap. Too tired, but it was the best adventure we had on this end of the year. We will probably visit again in the future because it was such a wonderful and interesting experience.

This must be a fun filled weekend journey
I know you my friend will visit the market to get new recipe to cook😜🙂

It is a fun and adventurous event. But we only buy two types of fruit and one type of vegetable.

At the moment, I can't think of making a new dish, but I will update you about the birthday party booking that wants us to prepare 4 types of food. 😉😉😉

Another busy week for me, and I hope you will have a magnificent week as well.

Sorry about the stress ahead
Mame sure you have your rest after then

Even though it's going to stress me out, it's worth it. 😍😍😍
The outcome of all the hard work can be delightful and satisfying.

Wow I'm glad you understand that
But don't break down trying to over work yourself

No need to worry,@graciousvic.
I'll be more cautious and will always choose my health over money. Health is more important to me because we can find money once we are in good health. Now, I always try to maintain a healthy physical and mental state.

Exactly
Good you know that 😊

I stayed at home this weekend, with no excursions or one-day trips. The weather was not really good and I didn't feel very well physically, so my weekend was spent almost doing nothing (apart from that I went to work in the morning). But, Hive is here so I could travel with you to this place and see a lot of greenery around. Watching the video I realized you drive on the left side of the road. In my country, we drive on the right side.
So your daughter has training in that clinic? I hope she will get later work in your hometown, to avoid constant travelling

I am sorry to hear that. I hope you getting better now. I woke up with a back pain. Maybe because of the travelling and sitting in the car for too long. I'm getting older, and my bones aren't that strong anymore.😁

Watching the video I realized you drive on the left side of the road. In my country, we drive on the right side.

Oh yes, in Malaysia we drive on the left lane. By the way, where are you originally from?

So your daughter has training in that clinic? I hope she will get later work in your hometown, to avoid constant travelling.

Yes, she have been there for about 2 months. She will finish her training schedule for six months there. It is really exhausting to travel that far. Fortunately, she is still young, and her resilience means she will still be able to survive. As for me, I really can't. 😓😓😓
While I have only been there for half a day, I am already feeling tired. I am so proud of my daughter.

The scenery along the road is just so relaxing and those are the sceneries I often witness here in our province. By the way that's a lot of fresh fruit from the market.

As for my weekend, I just did the laundry and I'm glad that the sun was on my side and helped me to dry the clothes that I washed.

As for my weekend, I just did the laundry and I'm glad that the sun was on my side and helped me to dry the clothes that I washed.

It looks like we both got lucky, because now is the rainy season. Our day was helped by the sun. For me, Sunday is always a day to relax and be with family. It is not necessary to go out to have fun; being next to the people we love is sufficient and beneficial for us on Sundays.

I agree to this one since there's no more satisfying than to be with them.

You're right in what you said. Thank God for the loved ones who are still by our side.

No treasure can replace them for they are the genuine gem in our life.

That's 100% correct!untitled.gif

Thanks for the virtual tour of Kinabatangan! I didn't know that Kinabatangan was part of Malaysia, as I was confused at first because of the pictures. I thought Kinabatangan was one of the provinces in the Philippines! btw, there are lots of fresh fruits in the market; I love it!

Sabah was formerly referred to as North Borneo until the Federation of Malaysia was established in 1963. Because Sabah was a colony of the Sultanate of Sulu, which was later colonized by the British in the 19th century. I guess that why some claims that Sabah is a part of the Philippines. But we are neighbouring country. I love all my Filipino "kaibigan". ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for the tour of Kinabatangan @mell79

You are most welcome, @kerrislravenhill .
Hope you enjoy it.
