Butt Note: First off, I'll just like to put it out there that I'm not one whom is often inclined to writing on multiple blog prompts. Infact, this just might be my first time ever writing so! However, seeing as how it's the 100th WK engagement anniversary of the community and that The Oracle himself, has given me special permission to write on all 4 - I think I'll make an exception just this one time.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Just what in the heck is that Painting Zeraton?". Well, my simpleton dear friend, it is simply my humble tribute to the milestone the community has achieved so far. A tribute in the form of an impressionist style painting that depicts what I belief to be the perfect example of a weekend - spending time in a park with nature, friends, family and loved ones.

I hope y'all like it and certainly hope it pleases the oracle. Well, with all that said now... Let's dive into this weeks's topics shall we?

💯 Engagement on Hive

InShot_20220508_222507052.jpg

Well, to the best of my understanding, engagement on Hive simply refers to the various means in which we, the Hivers, interact and communicate with the surrounding community and its users on the Blockchain. It is via engagement that we are able to interact with other diverse users, explore numerous communities, get involved in one or two activities on the platform and ultimately, be able to create a noticeable presence on the chain.

It's like we often say in the NFT community: You could have the best art collection out there but ultimately, if you don't put yourself and your work out there - it will remain hidden in the dark forever.

When it comes to engaging, I don't think I have employed any particular strategy. I usually just read any post I find interesting or attractive and if I enjoyed reading it, I gladly comment down below. However, there is this common trait I've noticed in some Hivers on here: now, I don't wanna call names but, @riverflows (if you know her), is just one of the few Hivers whom I've noticed has the habit of visiting profiles any time you comment on her post.

Now, I don't know if that's how it is for you but, I've noticed it's like that most often for me. Some folks on here see my comment (often very long and meaningful) and think:

Hey, what a nice comment. Who is this guy? Zeraton huh?... Let's check him out!

And then head to my profile and begin scrolling through my previous posts. And if by chance, they find a post they're attracted to(mostly due to its title) they click it, read it, vote on it, and comment.

P.S: I love you guys for that

I must mention though, that they don't always comment when they read through the posts but however still, I KNOW for certain that they DID actually visit my profile.

That's right stalkers, I know very well when you're stalking me :)

Honestly, I quite like engaging on Hive. I've met some pretty good people on here. Infact, it is via this engaging with other users thingy, that I came to know about the knuckleheaded Oracle himself, just there right under his comment section. And ever since, I haven't stopped admiring him.

As for building my account, I'll say a fair share of its growth has come from all the engaging I've been doing on since day one. But hey, I'm still growing and regardless of whether or not engaging is gonna blow up my account, I won't stop engaging and interacting with the Hive community for the world.

Hmm...although :)....

💯Doing it Differently

InShot_20220508_220903284.jpg
Uh man, just the thought of having to start Hive from scratch again...Yeeshh!

Frankly, I do not at all fancy the idea of having to start Hive from scratch again(Ahhh!! The first time was already horrible enough lol!). But uhh, if I hypothetically were to, I don't think I'll change anything! I am somewhat, perfectly content with how I started and how I am progressing so far. And similarly, even if I had made any mistakes back then, I'll simply just make up for them in the future.

But you know ... there's this still this one thing I always imagined I could've changed - My Username.

Yeah!... I mean I've seen a lot of pretty cool, absurd, and just plain clever usernames here on Hive and frankly, I'm jealous. So, I suppose changing my name would be the only feasible change I could see myself doing. Heck yeah, usernames like:

@SweetDaddyZera

@PregnantBoy87 and

@IateHive

Are on the top of my lists of potential usernames for sure. Oh, and in case you're wondering, I chose em because how funny and attractive they appear. And seeing as how people love these two things, there's a chance the click-bait username could lead to a drastic change in number of viewers come 100 weeks from now.

💯 Going back to Start.

InShot_20220508_222134250.jpg

Okay the advice I'll probably give my past noob self would probably be:

"Hey Dumbass, don't let those stupid insecurities stop you from experiencing this one. You can't let them hold you back anymore! Trust me man, you were made to Hive."

💯500 words on the #weekend-engagement concept

InShot_20220508_223004024.jpg
Why must the #weekend-engagement come before every other tag?

Ahh where to start...Don't get me wrong, I love everything about the WK-Engagement. No two ways about it!
But however, I still find there to be some minor things lacking:

One of the more meaningful things I have to say about this is the: Lack of engagement in the Intiative.

We've gotta putut back the "engagement" in #weekend-engagement

Now, this could just be me, but I find the no option for "Compulsory engagement" in the rules of the weekend-engagement to be a minor set back. A couple times, I have found that in my posts and in the posts of numerous others, there was a significant lack of engagement in there. Often times, i would find that it was due to the help of the mods and the oracle himself, that a little engaging was possible on that particular post.

Although, this could just be due to the fact that myself and those users aren't popular enough Hivers to get that type of engagement😂 But... Still!

Tis why I suggest to the oracle that we start making engagement Compulsory. Might sound a little assertive, but it could really help grow the community even more.

Say:

For every entry into the weekend-Engagement, you must comment on at least 3 other user entries.

Just a thought tho...

Damn it, I can't seem to remember the other things I wanted to complain about! Anyway, if I do end up remembering then... You can bet I'll be sure to let the Almighty Oracle know.

Well, I guess it's till we meet again now my compadres. I have to go

Farewell! For now :)

Thanks for reading and keep exploring!

Now, this could just be me, but I find the no option for "Compulsory engagement" in the rules of the weekend-engagement to be a minor set back.

I can't force people to engage, and I won't. It's up to the individual to do it and to prompt others to do it in return.

I suggest to the oracle that we start making engagement Compulsory

Not going to happen, I believe each should be free to choose how they develop their account; those with the desire, ownership and responsibility to build will make it happen, the rest will not. It's a choice.

I understand where your comments come from and I don't disagree, it's just that I'm a man who rewards effort and that I understand little will come without the application of it. Have you heard the term, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink? It is relevant here on Hive.

Well... That's fair. I'll respect your principles. Actually, they make a lot of sense infact. All fine with me either way.

😂Funny you brought that quote upactually. My old man use to use that line a lot! I think I understand though.

Hmm... There's uh, something about... Nah, nevermind. What'd you think of the portrait though?

It's a good quote I guess especially these days in which one can make the way forward very clear, but people still don't take action. Laziness, entitlement, apathy...whatever it is, that's fine...Just don't expect any results from such action (or lack of it.)

What'd you think of the portrait though?

Portrait?

The way you've just said this. I'm guessing you've seen a lot of this lacking in people then huh?

I always try my best to take action in what I want to do or achieve to the best of my abilities.
Simply, if you can dream it... You can work your ass for it too.

That picture. Next to the butt note. I'm guessing everyone just ignored it. That's cool :)

People are always trying to cut corners, get something for nothing and tend to feel proud of doing so. People should work harder, try harder, show ownership and responsibility and then feel proud of themselves for that!

We live in a world where low effort is rewarded and it's not going to lead to a very happy world eventually - Someone has to do something - but what happens when no one wants to?

It certainly was a dangerously awesome post so thank you for your thoughtful warning.

As someone who is new around here I have very quickly understood the importance of engagement and certainly appreciate it when people engage on my posts. I don't always have the time I would like to comment to others however try to do so when possible and to add some value with my comment. It's not the easiest place to break into I guess, but I'm trying.

Becca 💗

Haha... It's my pleasure. I, myself, knows how terribly overhelming it feels to bare such awesomeness sometimes. Ah... It was a burden I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemies. So, tis why I decided to warn any daring viewers who may try to stop by.

But hey, you survived the post so you must be dangerously awesome yourself!;)

Hey, we're all trying Becca :)

Truthfully, I think aiming for quality and meaning in engaging is a whole lot better than spamming 100 chats everyday with non meaningful Spam comments and Spam reblogs. Don't you think so?

I agree with you on the comments as I feel they should provide some value, open up conversation and promote future engagement between the users rather than be a closed comment that leaves no scope for more such as: Excellent post, good, thanks and so on.

You clearly have a sense of humor and that's a nice way to lead into communications of a more substantial nature and, if nurtured, lasting relationships can be developed. Of course, being dangerously awesome helps as well.

Thank you for responding, I am grateful.

Becca 💗

Ha! Don't forget the infamous:,

Nice Post Boss

My goodness. It gets me every time!😂.

The world is too serious and illusionary not to find things funny. It's the best joke ever. And heck yeah! it freaking helps.

Later Becca!

Oh, I haven't had a nice post boss comment yet, maybe I'm too new? 🙃

Don't worry. You'll see em eventually.

Much like that gangstalking account guy, they're quite hard to miss :)

For a moment there I thought some images were blocked, lol! Nice one!
Engaging with others here in the blockchain opens up more doors to learning, friendship, fun and what have you.

And you can actually use those usernames you mentioned when you create your own curation accounts, lol! Most people here have one or two more accounts they use mainly for curation so you will have the chance to use those cool names, hehe!

Blocked huh? Perhaps the Blockchain could not decipher it's awesomeness fast enough and that's why it took so long to process the image. What say you? :)

Oh snap, I never thought about that. I've gotta buy some Hive before that though. But, I'll definitely see to it in the future.

So, don't be too surprised when an account by the name of @SweetDaddyZera curates your post in the future :)

That might be so, lol! Your awesomeness transcended and it reached me in so swift a time😍

So, don't be too surprised when an account by the name of @SweetDaddyZera curates your post in the future :)

And that would be another level of awesomeness :) Thank you in advance, lol!

I'd like to start by saying that your writing style is awesome. Reading your 7min long post was a breeze because I was hooked from the beginning and I'd give anything to have such hold on my readers. I'm a newbie kinda so I obviously have a lot to learn and I hope that with time I'll garner enough knowledge and improve my writing skills enough to captivate my readers and keep my posts interesting and engagement worthy (•‿•)

Why thank you Chikamara! Hooks can be quite a resourceful feature on here on Hive.

A good tip is to always try to be creative. Do what others usually won't do. Use catch titles, add humor, use eye catching photos. You know... The usual stuff.

Also, good spacing and vocabulary ik your posts come a long way :)</sub.

Well, I'll look forward to your new found improvement my dear.

Cheers!

😂 Echezona, I see you did a little stalking yourself.

The tips and words of encouragement are very appreciated 😊.

Cheers to you too🥂... hopefully this encounter with you won't be the last cuz I think you'll turn out to be an interesting person🙂

Guilty 👀... LoL

I sure hope not. You seem like an interesting person yourself.

Your posts are always off the wall 🤣 and I confess that I look forward to reading them when I come across them.
You make some interesting points.

That's right stalkers, I know very well when you're stalking me :)

Do you really 🤣

As for the engagement, I agree with Galen you can't make people engage. I have seen communities where there are weekly contests and you have to comment or interact with two or three people, and have seen these comments ... This is a great post I like it , good luck. I mean wtf, that is not engaging, they probably don't even read anything.
Some people will engage and interact naturally and those are the ones that will more than likely go and visit your page after you leave a comment, I know I try to do that, and I often end up getting sidetracked!
This is however a good post and I like the thought you put into it, and the points you highlighted, and that was my two cents worth of interaction!

Oh for real man? That's great. It makes me glad you feel that way. Now, I'll be sure to have tengolotodo at the back of my mind anytime I want to write.

Oh yes, I do have my wayd bud. I ALWAYS know when they're lurking in my profile :)

Yeah true, that's the disadvantage of enforcing that rule. There'll always be those insincere folks whom will just spam: "Oh, Nice Post Boss"😂

Thank you so much my friend. I appreciate the kind words. Oh, and those two cents mean more than you could possibly imagine🤍

You are so very welcome bro.
I like the spontaneous engagement we get in The Weekend.
Forced engagement just becomes false and is no good for anyone!
Have a great week:)
