Hola, mi nombre es Joangel Duque, tengo 17 años y soy del municipio Michelena, estado Táchira. Comencé a entrenar en el año 2023 y ya llevo casi dos años en este camino, con el objetivo a largo plazo de seguir creciendo como atleta tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Mi sueño es que más personas conozcan mi talento, mi disciplina y la dedicación que pongo cada día para mejorar y avanzar en esta disciplina que me apasiona: la calistenia.

Hello, my name is Joangel Duque, I'm 17 years old, and I'm from the municipality of Michelena, Táchira state. I started training in 2023 and have been on this path for almost two years now, with the long-term goal of continuing to grow as an athlete both nationally and internationally. My dream is for more people to know about my talent, my discipline, and the dedication I put in every day to improve and advance in this discipline I'm passionate about: calisthenics.

Mi historia	My story

Todo empezó en el año 2022, justo después de la pandemia. En aquel tiempo entrenaba en mi casa solo como un pasatiempo, sin un objetivo claro, hasta que un amigo me invitó a entrenar calistenia en el parque de Las Pitufas. Un día, saliendo del liceo y sin nada que hacer, decidí acompañarlo. Al ver cómo progresaba físicamente y cómo mejoraba en sus movimientos, sentí una gran motivación y me propuse entrenar con constancia. Con el tiempo descubrí que la calistenia no se trataba solo de fondos y flexiones, sino que incluía movimientos dinámicos y estáticos, y fue en estos últimos donde encontré una verdadera pasión.

It all started in 2022, just after the pandemic hit. At that time, I was training at home alone as a hobby, without a clear goal, until a friend invited me to do calisthenics training at Las Pitufas Park. One day, leaving high school with nothing to do, I decided to join him. Seeing how he progressed physically and how his movements improved, I felt incredibly motivated and decided to train consistently. Over time, I discovered that calisthenics wasn't just about dips and push-ups, but included both dynamic and static movements, and it was in the latter where I found a true passion.

Objetivos y metas	Objectives and goals

Hoy en día mi mayor deseo es mostrar mi talento y motivar a más niños y adolescentes a unirse a la calistenia, porque no solo se trata de entrenar el cuerpo, sino también de fortalecer la mente, aprender constancia y no rendirse ante los retos. Aspiro a convertirme en un atleta completo, dominando los movimientos estáticos que requieren fuerza y control, los dinámicos que demandan velocidad y valentía, y los básicos que nos enseñan humildad y disciplina. Junto al equipo de #swc busco crecer como deportista y como persona, aportando mi energía y esfuerzo para que todos avancemos juntos, porque estoy convencido de que con dedicación, disciplina y trabajo en equipo no existe meta imposible.

Today, my greatest desire is to showcase my talent and motivate more children and adolescents to take up calisthenics, because it's not just about training the body, but also strengthening the mind, learning perseverance, and never giving up in the face of challenges. I aspire to become a complete athlete, mastering static movements that require strength and control, dynamic movements that demand speed and courage, and basic movements that teach us humility and discipline. Together with the #swc team, I seek to grow as an athlete and as a person, contributing my energy and effort so we can all move forward together, because I am convinced that with dedication, discipline, and teamwork, no goal is impossible.

Mis expectativas:	My expectations:

El proceso no ha sido sencillo, pues requiere disciplina, constancia y una mentalidad fuerte. Existen días en los que el cuerpo no responde, en los que los músculos tiemblan, las manos duelen y el progreso parece lento, pero es en esos momentos cuando se pone a prueba el compromiso real. Poco a poco he logrado aprender varios trucos y mi meta actual es competir en escenarios nacionales e internacionales junto a atletas de élite como Andrea Larosa, Viktor Kamenov, Tony Gastes, Onizuka, Leevan y Daniel Hristov, con la ilusión de representar a mi país con orgullo. En este camino quiero agradecer especialmente a @henrrysworkout quien me inspiró, me apoyó en los entrenamientos y me enseñó que, con disciplina y pasión, los límites solo existen en la mente.

The process hasn't been easy, as it requires discipline, perseverance, and a strong mindset. There are days when your body doesn't respond, your muscles tremble, your hands ache, and progress seems slow, but it's in those moments that true commitment is put to the test. Little by little, I've managed to learn several tricks, and my current goal is to compete on national and international stages alongside elite athletes like Andrea Larosa, Viktor Kamenov, Tony Gastes, Onizuka, Leevan, and Daniel Hristov, with the hope of proudly representing my country. Along the way, I want to especially thank @henrrysworkout, who inspired me, supported me in my training, and taught me that, with discipline and passion, limits only exist in the mind.
