Touring the Colegio de Ingenieros station of the Caracas subway [Eng-Esp]

Greetings fellow architecture lovers of the world! Today I would like to invite you to tour one of the Caracas Metro stations, the Colegio de Ingenieros station. Come with me to pick up the facilities.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit the capital city of Venezuela with my family to do some paperwork. The visit was lightning but I was able to take advantage of every second to enjoy things that we do not have in the state of Tachira, such as traveling by subway.

IMG_20240404_152917~2.jpg

I had the doubt if I could make the tour of at least one station because the number of people who move in this means of transport is impressive and because of my health condition I was afraid that the crowd of people would not let me get on.

Fortunately we went at a not very busy time. We entered the subway at the Colegio de Ingenieros station and moved to the next station Plaza Venezuela. A short ride but we were satisfied since it was the first time that my husband and daughter were traveling on this transport.

On our tour of the station, I could see that tickets are purchased from vending machines that work similar to ATM machines. Regular passengers have special cards that when recharged give them access to the trains.

Everything is very well signposted. The routes, the spaces, the places to wait, the warnings not to pass. I found the lighting in the subway to be adequate and whenever I needed information some employee told me what I needed.

I really liked the concrete walkways that connect one side of the tracks with the other going in the opposite direction. It is a comfortable and safe way to pass over the train tracks.

Escalators, location maps and a lot of trains running was what we could see at the station. The platform is spacious for a large number of passengers. Everything looked very clean and organized.

The walls are in a rustic finish, I like this and I think it is the best way to preserve a structure of this dimension over time, as it does not require touch up painting. While in some sections we see that it is covered with ceramic tiles that are very easy to wash and keep clean.

The trains have cars that are joined together with joints. They have enough seats and standing room. Some seats are marked with special seating for people with disabilities or special needs. The tracks, which are 2, in 2 directions, look clean and are functional.

We arrived at our destination, Plaza Venezuela station, which has always been my favorite station. Very similar to the previous station, but it looks more modern to me.

My family unlocked one more place we had yet to visit. I was very happy to share this tour with you. See you next time, Bye!

Ohhh that would be very scary but interesting? I didn't know that. Now I'll have to wait for my next visit to wait for the specter. 🤭.

Amiga, I had the pleasure of visiting that subway station, I'm glad you capture with your photographs that great architecture.
Glad to know that your family was able to visit and take the subway with peace of mind. Happy afternoon 🌹🌷🪷🪻🌼🌸🥀💮💐🌺🌻☘️

Very nice trip on subway

It is great. I am very pleased to be able to travel in this transport when I visit the capital city.

I always find it great to travel on this transport, as if it was the first time 🤭. I love it.

Thank you very much for your good wishes. Best regard

Me encanta.

What a nice ride my friend, well I tell you that my first and only time I have ridden a subway was right there, in Caracas, Venezuela. It was a nice and unique experience although I rode it several times in the two weeks I was in the Capital, I loved that adventure, I went everywhere hahaha, greetings friend 👋🏽

That's the great thing about the Metro that it takes you everywhere. I think it's fast and safe. I'm glad you could get to know this means of transportation in my country ☺️. Thanks for supporting my publication

Hello friend, the trips in the subway are an event, it saves time and you must move fast because the doors close at the speed of light heh, heh; sometimes the number of people stun, but for errands in the dynamic capital is the best means of transportation.

Greetings!

Public transportation is quite good, can connect various places with one train. Hopefully one day where I live there will be good transportation.

What a nice tour of the subway. It's great that you managed to get these photos, I understand the atmosphere is very hectic.
