RE: DEISM is functionally identical to ATHEISM

in Atheism5 years ago (edited)

This "fact" does absolutely nothing to inform our system of government, our laws, or our sense of morality.

Can you elaborate further on that? Or, prove that claim?
What if those annunaki overlords that programmed us to be something, had more success if their progeny knew their purpose? Or maybe not.

In other words, if they came down and flat out told us "hey yeah, you guys are our gold slaves, because we hate digging and we already picked up all the easy stuff"......would you then be more comfortable being a gold slave?
Like, "hey this is what I was created for'....
or would you be "I hate being what I was created for, and want to rebel and be 'free'"?

Sort:

In the absence of INDISPUTABLE EVIDENCE OF SPECIFIC GODS, DEISM is functionally identical to ATHEISM.

What would you tell your car if it asked you "why was I made?"

What if a child asked their parent, "why did you make me?"

In 1 minute 15 seconds,

And even iff some sort of gods showed up, we'd really have to take-them-at-their-word.

By all appearances, we're some sort of experiment that was abandoned, and the results of the test long forgotten.

True but irrelevant to this hypothetical situation.

And even iff some sort of gods showed up, we'd really have to take-them-at-their-word.

Hypothetical situation. They have 'proven' that they have created you. Whatever you require as proof. So there would be no doubt that you were created by them for a specific function.

What would you tell your car if it asked you "why was I made?"

Good question. Would you tell it the truth?
Did you program 'Feelings' into the car?
Perhaps, since the question would pertain to curiosity, which would point to probable empathy, and also ability to ponder.
I would probably reprogram the car to eliminate the code that fostered the question....Unless that car was showing signs of 'will to live'.
If the car was created to transport me, then why would I create a curious AI? I would not, so this scenario would be very unlikely. Someone at Disney already thought up Sentient Cars ;)

What if a child asked their parent, "why did you make me?"

Why not the truth? -> Because I wanted to procreate, as I was designed to do.

By all appearances, we're some sort of experiment that was abandoned, and the results of the test long forgotten.

This is simply your Opinion, which I tend to think will change with time based on the rugs you choose to peek under now. You will be forced to logically deduce what Tesla and others have......That we will make more strides in science in a decade than we have in centuries once we embrace the study of that which cannot be seen... or something like that. Too tired to look up the quote.

Well, I'm a rather sorry excuse for a gold-miner, so their design process probably needs some work.

Well, I'm a rather sorry excuse for a gold-miner, so their design process probably needs some work.

Are you sure you are a sorry excuse for a gold-miner?
The cogs in the machine don't just hit the rocks. You are part of the Admin team. No-one gets left out ;)

Excellent point. We are still collecting quite a bit of gold, we're even keeping it safe in safes. Perhaps the gods will stop by in a few thousand years (or tomorrow!) and thank us all for doing such fine work before absconding with all the precious metals!!

This would make an interesting movie plot. What would happen if suddenly, all the gold vaults were discovered to be empty without explanation? I think I'll call it, "PREPPERS GONE WILD".

Lol I should show you some of my old posts from like 10-15 years ago. I used to spend a lot of time trying to show the world that the gold vaults ARE empty.
The 'middle east' "wars", ended up taking the gold reserves of Iraq,Libya and others. They had a LOT of gold too.
Now all gone.....where did it go.. I think they make a pick up every few thousand years or so.

All work points to gold for us doesn't it. It doesn't matter what we do. Even if we mop floors. It is for Gold in the long run. Up up up the chain, someone is getting your mana, and your manpower up the chain. The 'System' is perfectly designed for this. People thing the system is 'broken'. It is working as intended.

I remember reading that Nicolas Maduro was withdrawing his physical metal from LONDON.

And I thought, "good luck on that one".

The 'middle east' "wars", ended up taking the gold reserves of Iraq,Libya and others. They had a LOT of gold too.

It's the OPIUM WARS all over again.

In 2 minutes 21 seconds,

Description of the movie tends to call it 'hostile alien invasion'. LOL....Nope... They were already here, and made you :)

Does the plot have anything to do with gold?

Here's my favorite Anunnaki reference, you might get a kick out of this,

If the car was created to transport me, then why would I create a curious AI?

One might prefer a vehicle that is able to learn and anticipate its owner's needs and even desires.

One might prefer a vehicle that is able to learn and anticipate its owner's needs and even desires.

Yes of course and I think we already have that lol. But if it asked me why it was made then I would think it was glitching, and may have sparked sentience since it wasn't programmed. Kinda like Tron's ISOs, which I personally think has a lot to do with 'our' situation, and the whole annunaki thing...

You ever wonder why certain populations get Genocided and their history completely erased? Especially all those ones we haven't spoken of, because we don't know they used to exist??
Maybe Clu thought they were an Imperfect danger to the system......maybe because they couldn't be controlled like machines...

Isomorphic Algorithms (better known as ISOs) were a race of programs that spontaneously evolved on the Grid, as opposed to being created by users. Their existence was considered a miracle by Kevin Flynn; however, Clu considered them be an obstruction in his mission to create the perfect system.
ISOs differed from Basic programs in their appearance and capabilities, but their uniqueness lay in their code base. They were said to be different due to them not be programmed or controlled by functions, protocols and the need for purpose. While regular programs conform to the rigid structure defined by their users, ISOs had evolved, complete with a genetic code of sorts that even Kevin Flynn could scarcely comprehend. This inner structure of their code would potentially have allowed ISOs to develop beyond the capabilities of regular programs.

You're speaking my language!

Yes, generally, the single-minded tends to eradicate any "unpredictable" variables, labeling them at a minimum "pointless distractions" and tend to leap to the conclusion they are "rouge elements" if not explicitly "saboteurs".

"If these people would just play-the-game, they'd get a lot more out of life".

So called "blue sky" science for example is often defunded unless the researchers can find some hypothetical "practical application".

"What is this all about?"
In about 2 minutes 27 seconds,

lol classic.

"Sign here please"
Does as told

"Here is a receipt for your husband"

Just like at the Docked Oar's Off Ice. Sign here, it's just a BERTH Certificate!

The funny thing is, if she refused to sign, would they even be able to take him away?

I mean, after-all, THE NAME DIDN'T MATCH.

"If these people would just play-the-game, they'd get a lot more out of life."

In about 29 seconds,

Why not the truth? -> Because I wanted to procreate, as I was designed to do.

Do you believe the stickleback was "designed" to adapt to living in rivers and streams?

Do you believe the stickleback was "designed" to adapt to living in rivers and streams?

Sure do. I am GLAD you said ADAPT and not EVOLVE! You used the appropriate word where most others do not.
Since forever I have been telling everyone that if I were God I would 'CREATE' my creations to 'ADAPT' to all changes.......like,,, duh Atheists :D

Thanks for the trigger-warning!

It wasn't supposed to 'Trigger' anything but the logical sensory apparatus' peering about.
My hypothetical -if I were- scenario was not linked to personal feelings, but Logic. It is very logical to program your creations/inventions to 'Adapt' to foreseen changes, is it not? That is, unless you were creating something you wished to 'expire' after a certain period of time........like.....'Cyclical Consumption'....

I was referring to your warning about using the word "evolution".

So do you think the things that engineered humans also engineered plants and fish?

This is simply your Opinion,

Good point.

I'm not entirely certain that "science" is always a "good thing".

I'm not entirely certain that "science" is always a "good thing".

Nor am I. At least not the perversion of 'NOW':

scientificmethod020.jpg

Phenomenal infographic.

People don't even know what "science" is anymore.

It's a METHODOLOGY not DOGMA and it should always be ANTI-DOGMA.

Something I wrote about 8 years ago:

-Science-
The new religion. You see, the 'scientific community' has become a bloated opinion of non-scientists regurgitating one 'study' they heard about. Nevermind the multitude of opposing opinions, for this one was on tv.
My scientist is right, and your scientist is wrong!! Sound familiar? Sounds like religion too doesn't it. My faith is right, and yours is wrong.
Have any of you that 'believe' in something because 'science' said so, ever taken the liberty to research further than 'the experts said so'?
Scary.

It's not specific to "science" or even "religion".

The "problem" is FEUDAL HIERARCHY and "appeal to authority" and "appeal to fear".

It's shocking to me how even the word "OFFICIAL" is merely an extension of HYPNOTIC ARCHITECTURE (ancient technology).

Think about it, "OFFICIAL" simply refers to someone who occupies an OFFICE (which is just a fancy word for a ROOM).

It's so insane. You're supposed to STFU and submit to someone simply because they HAPPEN to occupy an assigned ROOM??

Now even the mere mention of the word "OFFICIAL" is an instant RED FLAG.

By all appearances, we're some sort of experiment that was abandoned, and the results of the test long forgotten.

haha! Interesting thought ...

I think we generally tend to have an overinflated sense of our own importance, relative to the balance of the cosmos.

I've also hypothesized that since everything seems to yield to the second law of thermodynamics, perhaps humans are simply some sort of chemical "short-cut" to somehow accelerate the inevitable heat-death (perhaps by some amazing "scientific advancement" that goes "horribly wrong").

CHAOS is an agent of EQUILIBRIUM

Seriously meant or gallows humor?
I have the impression that man hates himself. This is a real problem and need not be. Psychological depths are opening up. It would be really heartwarming if we didn't take ourselves too less and not too seriously.

Seriously meant or gallows humor?

It's a serious option if you try to look at the cosmos as a mechanism and try to extricate our natural inclination to place humans at the center.

(IFF) "this" "started" with a "bang" (AND) will "end" with equilibrium (heat-death) (THEN) "everything" serves this ultimate goal

It's sort of a less popular spin on the old teleological fallacy.

I have the impression that man hates himself. This is a real problem and need not be. Psychological depths are opening up. It would be really heartwarming if we didn't take ourselves too less and not too seriously.

We do seem to be somewhat self-destructive.

Perhaps you might find this inspiring,

Thank you for that documentary. I watched it in total. Touched me.

It seems crazy to me that we can find meaningful solutions like VIPASSANA and almost nobody even knows about it.

This would do the entire world so much good.
