Water and Raindrops

in Photography Lovers2 years ago (edited)

Water is another thing we are always taking for grated, at least in developed countries. We always have water, just have to turn on the tap and there it is. However, things may change in the near future. Drought in many areas of the world was just another word in the dictionary till now, but things are changing rapidly.

We've been having drought every summer here and there, but what's going on lately is simply unprecedented. This year is quite a lot regions were set up restrictions of different levels. This means that tap water was restricted according to a certain schedule. This seems bad as you need to use your time wisely to be able to do the work you need to do, plus there's a high chance the pressure could drop for so many using the water in the same time. This should never happen in the 21st century, but here we are. And what is worse, where there's no tap water and wells are drying out, water is a huge problem.

We are fortunate though as I have never had water shortage or restriction where I live and there's plenty of water in the well, where my dad is based. We use the well for irrigation, as otherwise there will be nothing in the garden. This has going on for years now and today I can say the garden can't survive without irrigation.

This summer has not been different from the others and I think it's safe to say that rain had become a scarcity. We're happy to get some rain here and there and don't have to worry about carrying an umbrella as it is not necessary.

This morning I woke up to rain and it seemed very strange. Yes, we're not accustomed to rain anymore it seems. It rained for about 3 hours, which is a blessing, trust me.

Whit the rain, I saw an opportunity to take some photos and try to practice as raindrops are not easy to photograph.

20220816_083858a.jpg

My device is my phone, I don't have a professional camera to be able to do miracles, so my only choice was to take a bunch of photos from different angles and distances and see what comes out of it.

20220816_083900a.jpg

There's a mosquito net on the window, which is more for the flies not mosquitos as we don't have mosquitos. We should not have flies either, but my neighbor is an asshole, but that's a whole different story.

20220816_083905a.jpg

While I was taking these photos, I saw that some of the raindrops are reflecting the net, distorted obviously, but I find it very cool.

Then I went to another window and took some different shots. These were not through the window glass, it was just the net.

After I took these shots, I said let's see how many are actually usable, so I set down to download them to my laptop and see if there's need for another set. Or two. Or three?

20220816_092746a.jpg

So I downloaded them, had a look and decided to take some more and see if I can get better shots. It's just that mother nature had different plans as the rain stopped, the raindrops flowed down from the net and I was left with nothing.

Honestly I'm not saying I could not take a single cool shot as there are a couple good ones here, but I would have loved to take more shots. This was fun and I think I've learnt something.

Next time I have to pay attention and start when the rain starts, if there's plenty of rain for the net to be wet, or the window. When will be that? Only God knows 🤷‍♀ Maybe during autumn. In any case, I see this as difficult as photographing perfect snowflakes. But the good news is that I was able to do both this year, so I'm considering myself lucky from this point of view.

water objects can be beautiful if you have the art of taking pictures, I salute the talent you have. good luck my friend @erikah

I wouldn't say i have talent, but I'm trying to do my best.

Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day.

You're welcome my friend. And I see you have talent in photography, because I know it's not easy to take pictures like that. have a nice day too 😁👍🙏

Water is a huge blessing's and need of humans but sadly we don't care or think about how's things can turn out in future.

This year I saw wells getting dried in between nature - sound's quite horrible but it's true

I heard about tap water shortage and situations in some developed countries. These things always made me worry to take it seriously and do something for it or use it carefully (Avoid wasting unnecessary

We also never had a water shortage ever since here but Wells getting dried was something unexpected this year but still Glad rainy season is here.

Tho while I'm typing it is raining outside and seeing your awesome rain drop shot's seems like I should give it a try too

Haha let's see if I can capture good one's like you!

Happy day and have fun!

We don't have a rainy season. It should rain more during spring and autumn, but nothing is guaranteed. Another water source is the snow, but lately that has become scarcity as well. With these warm winters, there's no snow.

Oh, Sadly also Climate is changing but luckily we have all 4 seasons inc Snowfall and rainy season.

Have a Great Day Erikah.

It's great to know that you guys experienced rain today. For a developed country, even without rain, their sources of water for daily use are always easily accessible though the rain sometimes helps in calming down the environment naturally and even flowers and other natural endowment will begin to flourish. However, in underdeveloped areas, those in that areas might feel the scarcity of rain and therefore will stretch themselves a bit while trying to source water.

The shoots you took look great, one would think you used a professional camera 📷 when you only used your mobile phone.👍

Thank you and sorry for the late reply, life got crazy here lately.

Developed countries may use a few times more water and therefore the water reserves may not be enough. However, this drought may end soon as we're hoping to get some rain as autumn starts. Another source of water is snow, for agriculture of course and not only as melting snow ends up in the rivers, so finders crossed.

beautiful photos, I always fail to take photos like this.

Thank you.

😂 it's beautiful to see how taking pictures of raindrops excites you. I can tell from your article that you felt like you just won a lotto. Cute😂 pictures like that are not easy to take anyway. You did well. Next time try snapping raindrops on leaves or flowers. It's more beautiful with them. @erikah

If you think of how rarely we get rain, I can say I won the lottery.

Next time try snapping raindrops on leaves or flowers. It's more beautiful with them.

Not my thing really as it has become kitschy 😟 I like this one better.

Okayyy😂

Shortage of water is a scary situation. I live in an area where I am surrounded by many lakes. We are fortunate for that and I am very grateful for this.
Water has very neat properties which makes for interesting pictures and gives a beauty of its own.

I'm glad to hear you're not affected by shortage of water. Lakes are a blessing.

I'm going to try to take more photos next time, maybe I can come up with something new :)

Those came out good 🙌 Maybe next time, catch some drops on plants too???
