Destruction brook Trails

Destruction brook Trails

THese photos have bene sitting in my "yet to post" folder on my PC for literally months, and I thought when I saw them this morning that its about time I shared them,

Starting with a shot of this little bridge along the trail

Destruction Brook Trail is Wooded, 1,500-acre land trust with 35 miles of hiking trails, wildlife, a waterway & rock ledges, it is managed by the Dartmouth Natural Resource Trust, which has quite a few trails and areas they look after, I love it when sites and trails are preserved like this.
This was a walk Lulu and I did before she broke her Hip in December, and these trails can be damp and slippery and she hasn't felt up to doing them again yet, I have bene meaning to myself but this summer has been crazy, the days have either been to hot ( hence why most of my walks of recent have bene early morning when it is cooler , or I am out and think about doing it and I don't have sunblock on, and after all the skin cancer I have had removed, I try to avoid walks in the Sun if I am not covered in sunblock ( another reason I love early morning before the sunrises walks), or finally the temp is nice but its raining.
I do hope to do some trails maybe in Fall like we did last year will be when I do them.

This is the same bridge as the first shot from the other side and I then knew it is called Ellas bridge

OK looking at this shot maybe my excuse of no sunblock isnt warranted there is plenty of shade from the trees lOL

Seeing the trees down in this next shot, I wonder if there was much damage from the wids we got recently, I know in Buttonwood Park I saw a few trees or limbs of trees were blown down.

And as I was leaving the walk I took a shot of the sign

Sort:

Escaping into the woods again with Autumn fall will be nice, avoiding the heat on Summer days makes walks a lot more comfortable I must agree.

These photographs, walking shaded area looked stunning with sun peeping between the leaves, my pic for today to enjoy.

Thanks for the !WINE :)
I do love the trails and my wife did last year, I can understand her concern with not walking them at the moment but maybe next year, meanwhile when it cools down I will try and explore some of these trails again

Look forward to seeing when you get there, Lulu will be able to tell when ready to face the trails, we all mend at a different pace and Lulu had a rough time of it recently.

Yes indeed I think she is still in shock over how bad she was and that takes time I will be ready when she is

!LUV some !BEER now and again

All in good time, for now go it alone, then entice with showing Lulu gorgeous photos she may be up sooner than you think.

That’s a great idea 👍🙂👍

Redding this I wonder what more that 'still to post' folder has to offer.
Very nice photos. I like such nature trails.

LOL to be honest, there are not to many shots in that folder at the moment, but I have many in my lightroom catalogue, moved into a collection of shots to edit for posts, Literally hundreds of them

Have a great day

For a moment I was confused at the lack of leaves and stuff! Then I read more lol. The yet to post folder has probably got some gems! That folder keeps growing on my device lol. I’ve got some pics that I’ve forgotten about entirely but will get to them!

Yeah I thought about that as preparing the post so Had to mention there not recent shots

My yet to post folder is gettign sparse, but my Lightroom catalogue of photos to edit has plenty I need to work on

Yeah, I’ve been slacking on touching up my photos with Lightroom! Love that app! Even more that it’s free on iOS devices!

I have it installed on my phone but not sure I have ever opened it, I so rarely use my phone for photos

Do you have any idea how on earth it got that name? I'm always fascinated by interesting names of places. There's a beach in Delaware called Slaughter Beach which I've yet to visit. In my own travels I've come across "Down Yonder Road" and "Old Cheese Factory Road" (the latter of which makes sense, but is still fun).

Ohh yes I did read about that but clearly forgot to add it to the post

According to urban legend, Native Americans would steal cattle from the European settlers, drive them to the river and drown them during King Phillip's War (1676)

Some shots have to wait till you see them a second, third or even fourth time. These are little gems that wait patiently to be encountered. I think we all have them on our hard disks.
Of all the nice photos here, I love the photo with the path leading through the woods into the sun most ☺️

Such beautiful images. Great trail to walk in. Hmm we've been having thunderstorms every evening and the trees are getting uprooted here .. huge trees. The wind force can be something really.

I am lucky there are quite a few trails around here

I hope the winds die down soon for you sad to see trees uprooted

Very beautiful bridge

Isnt it just I love rustic bridges like this
