Today was a day of waiting, while in New Jersey today for some doctors appointments for my hubby, I had some time to kill. I could have sat in my car listening to some news or comedy, but I chose to go to a local market that was close by. Just a mile from the center that I dropped my best buddy at, I figured I would have at the very least 2 hours to kill. I knew this area of Morristown, NJ, my mom was treated here for her ovarian cancer, some 20 odd years ago. But let's not go there, all I will say, was she had the best care possible at the time and she outlived her prognosis by 7 years. Kudos to NEW JERSEY DOCTORS, and Morristown Hospital.
Let's get on with my day. I went to a whole foods store that I knew would challenge me not to buy too much. As soon as I walked in with my one bag, I realized that was a mistake. So I immediately bought two more reusable bags and when to work reading labels. The organic produce enticed me, but I knew my own veggies back at the farm was more than I needed. So I went to the flower shop. Wow, just looking at those perfectly arranged bouquets had me HAPPY. I spent 15 minutes just smelling their beauty, enjoying the color, and thinking about next years growing season. I will grow all of these flowers in my own garden for sure, especially those lovely sunflowers that thrive on our farm.

it's amazing what #nature can produce, I was high on this stuff.
This center of beauty surrounded me, as I perused the other wonderful things that were there for the taking.
This is the first time in my life where I didn't have to count my pennies. I have made it to the other side. @thebigsweed and I worked hard all of our lives to provide for our children, never taking for ourselves. But now, the kids are OK. So now is our time to enjoy the simple pleasures of buying what we fancy like I did today.
Just one bite is enough for me.
What a day it was, I had to run out of the store because I got the call...time to pick up my better half. Things went perfectly, time to go home and enjoy life once more.

The brightly coloured flower boutique is absolutely gorgeous and I must add that sunflowers are one of my favourites. Whole foods definitely calls for more than one bag, I sometimes tell myself I will not go overboard, and pick up a basket at the entrance, only to find myself going back a little later for a trolley as the basket gets heavier!
When we get to our silver years, we've earned a little spoiling not so😉

My love is okay for a new hip, no troubles, all systems a go. Denise I am so relieved. Bob is strong as an ox, confined today. New hip nov 16. Phew, I am grateful 🥲

That flower shop was just loaded with goodies and not just those gorgeous flowers. I did buy a few of the beautifully scented soy candles as well as some bath salts. I do love a good soak.🤩
I passed on the lamb chops, as much as I love them, the price was staggering . I may have been satisfied with just a few bites to savor, my husband would have needed at least 3 times that many to fill his belly.
At $34.99 per pound, um, no thanks.

Price of Lamb is most expensive meat here, I do get it from time to time since I love the flavour, yes those were pretty small chops at a very high price!

Good morning @goldenoakfarm, I am a little slow on return comments the last week, busy with preparing for my hubby's hip surgery. He is having a hip replacement Nov.16.
The other side is so crazy right? It's funny though, I don't think I can really change very much, I am so conditioned after so many lean years, that I still look at prices and weigh the benefit of buying some fanciful item. I can't seem to get away from "Do I really need this?" Probably not, but do I want this, will I enjoy having it?
Now an Almanac, that's a really good purchase I think, I love to have books around for reference and predictions. Good choice.

I think we all can agree, flowers brighten the day. I am so passionate about growing flowers on my farm, I especially enjoy the challenge of growing roses, they certainly take more care than any others I grow. But they are so fragrant and gorgeous, their petals look like velvet.

Strangely I also bought some wax today at a market today, but a wax of a different kind as it is called BEESWAX with healing properties.
It is an anti-inflammatory skin moisturizer that people also use for Acne, Eczema, Dry hair and cracked heels.
It also removes stretch marks, but I don't think that I need it for that 🤣

Hello there @papilloncharity, nice to hear from you. My hubby is getting a new hip in a few weeks, he just went through the pre-admission testing to make sure he's healthy enough to have the surgery. It' a GO. We can't wait to get that over and done with, he's in pain all the time now. He never complains and just keeps going, but I know it hurts. So, going to be really busy in the next few weeks tying up loose ends on the homestead before his Nov. 16th surgery. I am sure it will all be fine, he's a tough cookie, plus he's got me. hehe.

Marian's aunt also had a hip replacement and she is running around all over the place, fully recovered.
He sounds very much like me as we bear our our burdens in silence and it's the strong wives that help us carry our crosses.

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes. I am sure Bob will do great with the surgery. He already had one hip replaced about 10 years ago and bounced back like a champ. Fingers crossed, it will be the same with this one.
