I suck at making logos. Please help!

in #jobslast year

I'm a Dev, waaay left-brain and can't even draw a damn stickman right.

Can you design a logo image for me (2 svg images)?

I'll pay someone 20 HIVE for this.

There's a new website going up called "PermaLife" and a logo is needed. The site mainly focuses on permaculture and sustainable-living, with a bit of gardening and farming/ranching too. It even has some Amish lifestyle on it.

The logo needs to:

  1. Be minimalist
  2. Be no more than 3 colors
  3. Fit nicely into a square area
  4. Use a transparent background
  5. Not use gradients (solids only please)
  6. Look good on a black or white background (but it's usually black). I might have to greyscale it or invert the colors at some point, who knows.
  7. Be width and height of 800px

I also need a rectangle (height 800px) with that logo in it on the left, and the word PermaLife to the right of it, which will fit inside of the rectangular area (this is the full logo that I will put onto the top-left corner of the web page).

Please post your mockups below. One winner if there is one will receive the 20 HIVE from me. If I choose you as the winner of the design contest, I will ping you and need you to post the final download links to those 2 (minified) svg images in the comments below so that we can download them. I will send you the 20 HIVE as soon as I am able to download the 2 svg's and verify, probably within 1 day.

Please and thank you and good luck! :)

Try using stable diffusion? Use img2img to turn the sketch into a thousand different logos lol

Never heard of that, but thanx I'll look it up :)

Enjoy! It's really good fun, I threw together a tutorial on running it in the cloud, but there are several online services now that don't require running a python notebook

I want to train it to learn the BTS logo, then try to make a bunch of sci fi BTS marketing material, but I think I might need to treat myself to an android tablet to maximize my drawing capabilities :D

Good luck! :)

Hi @kencode, here is one logo for your new website, that i have done for you:

Logo for @kencode.jpg

I'm web designer and web hosting provider, so, if you need some help with your website, we can talk about it, i can help you with your website too.

I hope the logo i create for you will fit you needs. Of course, we can make some changes too, if it is needed, no problem.

Many thanks for posting this job on Hive.

Greetings from Serbia.

I like the leaf, that's a good idea.

The part in the middle seems a bit busy, but I like your thinking with the guy celebrating life. Still, a bit too busy in there imo tho.

Maybe a rock, or a heart, or even a mountain. The tree is a good idea too, but with the leaf it's probably a bit redundant.

Needs to be even more minimalist imo.

Thanks for quick reply, and that you like the idea, here is another one:

Logo for @kencode 2.jpg

This one is better, but I hope to see a few more concepts from others as well. I hope :)

I was thinkin too that having the word PermaLife in the square image makes it too busy. The rectangular logo will include the word PermaLife, so having that word appear twice in the rectangular version would probably be redundant.

I still like the idea of the leaf...

The square is not a part of the logo, this i have just as a background, once white, and one black, so the logo is the circle and the things in it, with no background.

Here another one, with leaf ;-)

Logo for @kencode 3.jpg

😊😎🤙 i wish i could help, but u're artist skill is already better than mine! :P Hope u find the logo u'r looking for..

Hi @chinito , many thanks for nice words, i really appreciate this. Yes, I give my best into work I do.

I've created a draft mockup for Permalife.
The green and red represent fellowship and support both in springtime, and in harvest.
And the yellow represents the eternal sun, which gives rise to each day, and each season.

Minimalism is good but this one does not say anything about what PermaLife might be about imo.

Your post is not showing your image anymore, so for posterity:

My youngest daughter just suggested a tree, and the roots come down into the shape of a heart. So cute! Anyway, not sure how that would fit into a square or a horizontal rectangle, but still made me think.. ;)

Oookk... soo, let me see... tree, heart, celebrating, mountain... soo, watch this:

Any proposals more? 😅

hey @getron i need a logo for Cast Garden. it's a website that hosts podcaster content like podbean, captivate, google podcasts, etc.

it's a website where podcasters go to grow their channel. audio, video and livestreams. minimlism is best.

this job pays 30 HIVE. 2 svg images (1 fits in a square, the other fits with the Cast Garden name into a rectangle) needed.

The logo needs to:

  1. Be minimalist
  2. Be no more than 3 colors
  3. Fit nicely into a square area
  4. Use a transparent background
  5. Not use gradients (solids only please)
  6. Look good on a black or white background (but it's usually white). I might have to greyscale it or invert the colors at some point, who knows.

Can you do this one for me too?

Hi @kencode , great to see and hear from you again with new job for me.

Yes, sure, i will start today with the work.

I'll get back to you as soon as I have something ready for you.
Stay tuned.

woohoo! thanx so much getron, lookin forward to it!! :)

Hi @kencode , here i have something for you, hope you like it:

Cast Garden Logo - Ex1 for Kencode.png

waaaaaay more minimalist please. just 2 or 3 objects would probably be enough. like a nice big leaf, somehow connected/combined with this podcast image:

for the rectangular image that displays the company name too, type the letters together like this:

(logo) CastGarden

wow, i didn't think i would like it, but this one is really nice. the tree might be a little bit too busy, but the rest is damn good. get rid of the circle thingy that surrounds the objects.

also, the rectangular image, please give me a mockup with a few different font choices for PermaLife and i think we might have a winner here :)

Great to hear you like it.

I hope i understand you right with the square of 800px, something like this?:

Logo for @kencode 5.jpg

I have 10 variation of fonts here, you can choose one, if you like.

Yeah, sorry about the px mention. This will be vector svg's anyway, so px doesn't really matter. I guess I was just thinking about the mockups size for here on peakd hehe

I like font #7, please include that font file if you can.

So, let's wrap this up. SVG #1 is just the logo image in a transparent square. SVG #2 is that logo image with the PermaLife text to the right of it in a rectangular area. SVG #2 is the image that will show in the top-left corner of the website (similar to how it was done on beetoons.tv).

Ok, no problem, i understand now what you meant.

Here is the last image, what you will get in SVG format, separately, with, and without white-black backgrounds:

Logo for @kencode 6.jpg

inclusive the font file.

If you are satisfied with this, you can transfer Hive to my Wallet, and i will provide you with the download link after successfully transfer of Hives.

Perfect!
Hive sent, plus a little extra.
