I learned later in life how to ride a bicycle. Not because I listened to Queen's song way too late, but because I never figured out why would I enjoy sitting on that uncomfortable tiny version of a chair with wheels. And I had no one to teach me as a child. If I could have learned about this from books, I would have.
I can still remember my first attempt. I was taken on a green meadow, I was about 21 something years old, and slowly guided. I was terrified of the thought of smashing my face into the grass and losing my front teeth. Yup. I have a horror of having one of my front teeth missing, I could not look at myself👀 This fear made me lose focus and move with the speed of a snail. "Children do this, you are an adult, come on!". Not easy. I am not the person who can take lightly "encouragements" like these.
I like to do things in my own rhythm.If one of the things that makes me roar is to hear people tell me "You can't do this or that", the second on the list would be "But look at others, they did it!". Both of these two approaches will score zero results with me.
I managed to get a lot of bruises on my ankles. I heal very slowly from these and I watched them go from blue to purple to yellow to wonderful pastels throughout the weeks. My skin was a work of art with expressionistic bruises. It took me several weeks to learn. Embarassing, I know. I didn't care because if I was not to lose any teeth by my own pace, I would have been pleased for this to take me even a year😂
I wanted to keep my style of posting original so I refused to google a picture with a bike and splash it here. So I made my own bike on my palm lol.Took me 1 minute to sketch this. I kinda look heroic balancing myself so good on it🤸♀️😂

The bicycle is very good in your hand, and even more you balance on it. It's perfectly understandable, although surely a child could visualize many more things in your palm. But I've managed to see that hill they took you to learn on, Sure, it probably doesn't look like the real thing but, it's a hill ha ha
I hope you've learned to ride a bike, I also hope you keep your teeth full.

In The Netherlands, famous for it's bicycles, kids are almost forced to learn to ride a ( two wheel ) bike after they stop wearing diapers ( when they're three or four )
And yeah, I totally get you - especially as a creative. Don't tell me how, when and how fast I need to do something. All these things are roads to unhappiness.

Oh that is very cool to teach things like these from an early age. After diaper era lol. Glad you liked it, I suppose you learned to go on a bike waay before me.
I asked my mom for an early bicycle picture. This is my twin sister and I in 1985 ( aged 3 to 4 )

I did not wear ever and my coconut is still intact😂But I think it would be better to wear though.
