Ha! You spilled the beans!
I think there is always one person in the household who is delegated to handle the financials although usually (in an equal relationship) both are involved in life-changing moves. So a little creative movement isn't all that unusual, but, the person who isn't doing it has got to have a lot of faith in the other.

A few years ago, if people didn't refinance those huge mortgages, they were crazy! It cut some of the payments in half, and now you could pay it off twice as fast. Frankly, I am against buying more house than you can afford...but that is a post of a different color.
The basement! Although, the snob in me calls it a lower level because a basement sounds so Nightmare of Elm Street-ish. Doesn't it? Well, I guess it could.
Anyway, that is where I keep mine because banks are no longer safe. What happens when they freeze our accounts and we cannot get our money? We'll just use crypto, right? Let's see them freeze our invisible money!
