Call me crazy if you want but I just powered up 10000+ STEEM. I thought about it for a while but with Steempower being so much more valuable right now it's absolutely worth it.
Today I just continued celebrating yesterday's good news. I am in such a good mood.
Steemit will pull through in 2017.
The experiment that is running at the moment is giving so much power back to the normal users and I believe if it runs long enough it will attract many new users.
Everybody knows I am excited about this experiment and I hope it will run for a long time. And it's getting better every day.
I have been manually curating and upvoting comments a lot more than in the past. My voting power has increased 8 times since the experiment began! From a 1-cent vote to an 8-cent vote. It’s incredible. 8x TIMES!
My curation rewards haven’t gone up much because of all the votes I give away but I don’t care. It’s way more fun to give away these votes than earning curation rewards anyway.
I think we are looking at very good times ahead for Steemit with the main reason being that so much more people will receive rewards for their content creations and comments and also earning more influence in the platform doing so.
It will become a huge success.

Having the voting power go up is a welcome side effect. Voting on comments is actually paying something right now. It would be great if they could make this happen without resorting to the use of flags.
Thank you! But the voting power going up is not a side effect. It's the mean reason of the experiment. The side effect is the Steem price rise. It's all positive :)

well to be honest your positive vibe on it, gives me more positive vibes on it. I tend to have trust for certain vibes in my fellow humans and I sense genuine excitment here, without deceit and that is a well rounding point for the experiment being a positive.

I will be looking to do the same I feel...cautiously. Not sure if the SP investment is 100% secure especially if this redistribution experiment stops and the imbalance in rewards returns. Steem price is also on a bearish downtrend and I feel it has some way to go however I am optimistic. Thoughts?
If I'm unsure about whether I should buy something or sell I buy in gradually. I feel positive about Steemit and I think this experiment will have an positive impact in its future.

To put that in perspective...the first time I bought Steem I paid 0.5BTC for 300 STEEM :). Nonetheless, it's exciting to see where the price will go from here.

Thank you for your nice reply. If you want to invest in Steempower I recommend you buy a little bit over a period of time to even out your investment. It's less risky that way. You have a great day too.
Haven't been in Steemit for a while so I had no clue about the experiment but to me it looks like it is working. Comments are getting rewarded, lot more views on posts and rewards on posts seem to be more distributed. Also the price on Steem seems to have found bottom for now, hopefully for the long term, even though I've been negative as hell at times, I've never actually powered down as deep down I believe in this project. Good for you for picking up great time to buy!
I have never powered down either (I did press the button to see what would happen but stopped it soon after). I like the experiment a lot and I think it has a lot to do with the current rise in price.
I also think it tiggles just the right spot in human nature and that's giving to others.

The cool thing about Steemit is that you don't need to invest money to own it. You can earn it by writing, curating and commenting for free.
To be honest, I have no clue how all this works, but it seems awesome and I can't wait to learn it all.
You will learn it and before you know it you will be introduced to the wonderful world of Cryptocurrencies. It will blow your mind. Steemit/STEEM is a good one to start/learn with.
Can you mention what changes this post is regarding for those who aren't on steemit all the time?
The biggest change of this experiment is that more influence (voting power) has been given to more 'normal' users. You basically can make a difference on the platform without haveing a ton of Steempower. My influence has increased more than 10 times since the experiment began. My vote on a post used to be 1 cent. now it's 10-12 cents.
@exyle, It might be crazy enough to be a brilliant move. Stack never grows if you don't make big bets. Steem On!
Let's hope it will be brilliant :). Everyone will benefit from a higher Steem price.

I have been buying a little bit at the time all the way down. It's the strategy that I use. I was bound to hit the bottom at some point :) Steemit as a whole is exciting and well...I simply love this place.
