Today is the start of the Easter holidays. It was with a fair spring in my step that I toddled into the living room this morning.
Huzzah for Easter!
I greeted the family.
Huzzah!!
They shouted in return.
I nodded in approval and headed off to the kitchen to make coffee for us all.
When I returned, I sat contentedly. Ah, having a few precious days off was going to be magnificent. Think of all the relaxed family time we could have? Today and the next few days was going to be full of the awesomes.
What's the plans for today then, babycakes?
I grinned at the good lady with love.
She grinned back.
We have a kids party to go to at a soft play!
The cheery grin slid off my face and puddled onto the floor.
Softplay.
I stated tersely.
I could think of nothing worse. I have often posted about the horror of softplay. Before I had kids, I used to think it sounded a bit kinky. A tad erotic even and always had a snigger at hand when I heard a parent mention it.
In my head were visions of love cuffs and salted honey rings.
You can imagine my fucking dismay when I first went to one and instead of a big velvety room full of cat-like women with leather hats I was presented with a big echoing cavern full of luridly coloured climbing frames with screaming and crying kids running about berserk everywhere.
Oh right. Soft play you say. A kids party? That's magic.
It wasn't magic.
Yeah, it's that Dinosaur one.
Beamed the good lady, thinking that everything was magic just like I said.
The Dinosaur softplay that is a 45-minute drive away?
That's the one!
I clenched my jaw closed so that a lizard-shaped scream wouldn't thrash it's way out of my mouth and start savaging the good lady.
Oh and I can't go because I have to take the little boom to see my sister.
I stared at the good lady as if she had just turned into a big jobbie and was singing Ave Maria.
translation - jobbie is a Scottish term for a big fat shite
Great.
We got our stuff together and toddled off. I threw the good lady some shade now and then before we left but she was blissfully unaware.
As I drove us there I contemplated how I would manage to cope through the next two hours of toddlers screaming and crying.
Suddenly something caught my eye. I hoiked the car off the next slip road like I was a baddie escaping from Starsky and Hutch.
Daddy, what are you up to?
Squawked the little lady as the g-force from whipping around a corner outdid that of a space launch.
Nothing lass, nothing at all. Just have to make a short stop. Daddy has spotted something!
We made our stop then got back on the road.
Much later we arrived back home after the party at the softplay. The little lady was hyper mad happy. Strangely enough, so was Daddy.
The good lady looked at me with a crab-fingered brow.
How come you are so happy? I thought you didn't like Softplays much?
I grinned and opened the bag that I had bought in. In it was a stack of exotic beers.
I found a new beer shop!!!!
I chuckled and did a mad dance.
What a Good Friday!!!!!!!

I wish I was a kid, playgrounds for kids, beers, dinosaurs, crocodiles, cars, castles...Once my son said he needs to go to a birthday. He said is on Monday in the same place as last time. We went there, gave the present, I didnt recognize anyone but still I said to myself, I dont know everything and all parents of other kids. We stayed there, ate, my son had gorgeous game with other kids and after all we went home...The next day, my son told me the birthday was on Tuesday...🤔😉🤔

It was a good day in the end and the softplay was actually ok too!

Yes, they are born with PhD for computers, software, hardware, technique, they fix TV, Machines,...everything...I don't get it, how is that possible....!? 🤓

OK, so 1 - we have a place in town here called Cosmic Adventures. It sounds like the same exact kind of place. Kids get to crawl all through different padded and caged in tunnels and play in foam pits. Its a loud mess of running and screaming kids and of course dad has to be right in the middle of it with the kids.
That sounds exactly like it. Of course dad always gets dragged in. My knees are fecking killing me!!
Small pleasures all add up lol!!!
I hope you drank them at home at they weren't for the kids haha :)

It is amazing!! It has so many beers. My old craft beer shop had closed down and it was excellent and It was getting harder to find good beers but this one is amazing and the guy in it told me about two other places to check out!
Double score, cool new beer shop and leads on two others!! A special weekend with a beer resurrection also!

When I read softplay and the Friday being literally good, I assumed that you had your revenge on your diminutive rival from softplays a ways back. The one that did the little lady harm. Hahaha so a good friday it was for you. My husband can 100% relate to how you feel whenever I tell him to babysit our son for even an hour, softplay or no softplay. But that does not happen often because mostly, when I need to do something, my mother or sister babysit my son or I tag my son along.
Yeah we usually do stuff as a gang as well!

You have good luck @ meesterboom, because in some South American countries do not sell liquors on this date; you know to avoid that people drink and drive because there is a lot of traffic on the roads ... Australia is a bit hit and miss. Some public holidays, everything is open, but then there's others when nothing is open. Pretty sure Good Friday is one of the ones where nothing is open.
Lol, there are places that close but anything to do with kids is usually open longer to reap the money from the parents.
I remember when I was young nowhere was open. Than God it's gotten better
Of course, cos that makes sense. Makes you even wonder why we have public holidays these days when 24/7 everything is so much more convenient.
O I feel the same about children's parties and stork teas and kitchen teas. Sad but true I go for the food and hope there is something to drink hahaha. Have a great Easter and enjoy the beer

to finish the story off, you had to get a taxi home, you had no idea where you had left the car when you decided that you were to "unwell" to drive, with your willing assistant helping you do your taste test on the beers.[can't start them young enough you know,]
the best part was that the good lady has banned you from going to 'softplays' anymore

It isn't an official steemit front end. But it is closely tied with steemit and has been in use by many for quite a long time.
I and others use it with our active keys and have never had a problem

And if I can ask, do you recieve upvote for tagging them each time in a post. Cause i recieved couple pf times and didn't many other times!
I used to receive an upvote but I haven't had one from them in ages. You have to use the actual site as well as tag them. I do but assume because I am a high rep that I am excluded or something
Also they use steemconnect which just apps that interface with steemit do. By using that I don't think your keys ever leave your browser. It's been a while since I looked though
Exactly for me, i was using both tag and intrerface. But i stopped and change the key after inconsistency of their support AND the security concern in long run.
Well my account worth nothing now, but yours, and mine if get bigger....
But it's not only upvote. So I will study more on security issue asking whales about them to see if I can benefit from other features they offer :)
