Hallo liebe Freunde,
ich habe das Glück, daß es meinen Vater dereinst beruflich in die eigentlich kleine Große Kreisstadt Wertheim verschlagen hat. Gerade in der heutigen Zeit bin ich mir des Glücks durchaus bewußt, dort wohnen zu können, wo andere Urlaub machen.

I am lucky that my father once moved to the small, quiet district town of Wertheim for work. Especially today I am very much aware of the luck to be able to live where others spend their holidays.
Auf Grund der besonderen geographischen Lage an einer Flußmündung wird das beschauliche Städtchen leider immer wieder von teilweise ziemlich krassen Hochwassern heimgesucht. Der interessierte Leser meines Blogs weiß bereits, daß in Wertheim die Tauber (der Fluß des lieblichen Taubertals) in den Main fließt.

Due to its special geographical location at the mouth of a river, the tranquil little town is unfortunately repeatedly hit by sometimes quite severe floods. The interested reader of my blog already knows that in Wertheim the Tauber (the river of the lovely Tauber valley) flows into the Main.
Auf diesen Bildern sind die Hochwasser über Jahrhunderte hinweg sehr schön illustriert. Wir hatten hier schon richtig heftige Hochwasser.

In these pictures the floods over the centuries are "beautifully" illustrated. We have had really heavy floods here.
Auch zur Zeit des letzten Kryptobooms hatten wir Hochwasser. Ich hatte es damals 2018 auf Steem gepostet. Allerdings sind wir da recht glimpflich davon gekommen. Dieses Jahr war die Lage noch entspannter. Zumindest was das Hochwasser anbelangt.
Von Kreuzwertheim aus kann man den Wertheimer Main Parkplatz bestens einsehen. Die Hauptstraße dahinter ist mit einer Parkgarage unterbaut. Wir nennen sie liebevoll die "U-Boot Garage", weil sie regelmäßig "absäuft".

Even at the time of the last cryptoboom (2018) we had floods. I posted it on Steem. We got off pretty lightly, though. This year things have been more relaxed. At least as far as flooding is concerned.
From Kreuzwertheim you can see the Wertheim Main parking lot very well. The main street behind it is underpinned by a parking garage. We affectionately call it the "U-Boat Garage", because it "sinks" regularly.
Für die Bewohner der Innenstadt ist es allerdings nicht so amüsant, wenn die Keller volllaufen. 2011 habe ich ein paar "verwackelte" Aufnahmen filmisch festgehalten.

For the inhabitants of the city centre, however, it is not so amusing when the cellars are full. In 2011 I have filmed a few "shaky" shots.
Abschließend noch zum Vergleich ein Blick auf die Stadt zu sommerlichen Zeiten, und den ebenfalls winterlichen Marktplatz, aber ohne Hochwasser.

Jetzt sind wir schon eine ganze Zeit vom Hochwasser verschont geblieben. Mit deinen ganz fantastischen Bildern zeigst du uns, dass sich das ganz schnell ändern kann.
2018 war echt harmlos. Ich denke, die in der Stadt lechzen auch nicht nach einem neuen Hochwasser.
P.S. Danke für das Lob von dir für die Bilder. Von einem Superfotografen hört man das ganz besonders gerne. Ich habe auch noch die Hochkantfotos bearbeitet), damit die auch auf dem Smartphone richtig abgebildet werden.

Wertheim ist ein Juwel. Man es kaum ins schlechte Licht rücken.
Allerdings ist es schon krass, wenn die Hauptstraße mit Booten befahren werden kann.
In einem Jahr hatten wir sogar mal 2 Hochwasser. Die Leute hatten gerade die Keller und Geschäftsräume etc. gereinigt, da kam nochmal ein Nachschlag.
Wertheim ist ein schöner Stadt. Ich war mal auf ein Wohnmobilstellplatz in Wertheim unter einer Brücke nächsten Tag in Rothenburg.

Ich habe hier ein paar Bilder von dem Standort unter der Odewaldbrücke, unter der Du campiert haben musst.
Und das war in etwa Dein Ausblick auf die Burg Wertheim von dem Punkt aus, wo Dein Wohnmobil gestanden haben könnte.
