Yesterday, I wrote a post on the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, where I promised to do a post on the Ou Raadsaal (Old CouncilHall).

The Ou Raadsaal, is on Church Square in Pretoria. The Ou Raadsaal, housed the South African Parliament from 1891 to 1902. The building was designed by a Dutch architect, Sytze Wierda, in the renaissance revival style. The cornerstone was laid by president Paul Kruger on 6 May 1889, and the building was completed in December 1889 at a cost of 82 500 Pound.

You can see the old furnisher and the beautiful lead glass windows and chandelier hanging from the roof.

I love the interesting ceiling design as well as the balconies inside the hall.

The building is not really open to the public, but a few Rand given to the security guard, opened doors and gave entrance to about 30 bikers!! So much for security. I however enjoyed the visit and I felt the R10.00 I gave was money well spent, to see such a nice historic building on the inside!!

I hope you liked the post as much as I liked writing it.

I hope you have a wonderful day!!
