For a while now or more precisely, right after the @haejin flag war has ended with his opponents capitulating, it seems as if this plague of vote abusing became accepted for what it is and no one is doing a thing to manage or prevent it. I understand that @haejin has too much stake under his belt to easily fight off and that it costs a lot of money to endure a month long flag war with a user that has well over 1 million SP but why the fuck are we letting "smaller" accounts 10x themselves with no consequence whatsoever?
I accidentally stumbled upon one such account which is coincidentally from my home country that is doing the same exact same thing and not a single person has noticed it, nor has anyone fired any warning shots.
@teleskop, @marinko2, @drazenc and @maarko are shitposting their way to riches by reposting their blog posts through @steempress-io which literally no one (on Steem) cares about, with the sole purpose to upvote them from their voting account @freepress. Not only do they not provide any further information about the blog post they repost, but they don't even bother to edit their shitposts which end up on the block full of indistinguishable symbols like Å, ¾, �, Ä and  .
Croatian language has letters such as ž, č, ć, š, đ and I guess that steempress doesn't recognize them so it replaces them with some random symbols and these abusers can't even invest a minute of their precious time to fix up their shitposts. They rather leave them full of these hieroglyphs instead so that they wouldn't, God forbid, waste a minute of their precious time to edit their shitposts.
Copy-paste the title, copy-paste the first two sentences of the blog they are reposting and boom! They just took a major shit on the blockchain and awarded themselves with 1.7$ for it. Congratz fuckers! I hope you are proud of yourselves. You proved that you can do the most basic thing a human being can do and you even got some money for it.

With no effort, these bastards are raping the reward pool to the tune of one 980 000 SP upvote per day through 10x themselves with 98k SP on multiple accounts! When they first arrived, they only had one account @teleskop which they 10x'd, but after my warning about such behavior, they created multiple accounts and started posting the same shit there just so that you wouldn't notice the obvious abuse.
I probably wouldn't have bothered to write about this, let alone promote this to trending but, after their insanely cocky and arrogant reply to myself calling them out on one of their posts, I had no choice but to let you all know about this and ask for your help to rid the Steem blockchain of these abusers.

They are currently stealing about 800-1000 STEEM/mo from the reward pool but, take in consideration that this amount (at least in $ value) will go up tremendously in the next bull run.
The bottom line is
These arrogant parasites will keep draining the reward pool while providing absolutely no value to this chain of blocks until someone drives them away. I'm looking forward to seeing if there is anyone left here that actually cares about this platform enough to spent some of their VP to deal with this issue or are we all just going to turn a blind eye and let everyone act like @haejin?

For the record, anyone is free to post anything they would like on their own blogs and to the Steem blockchain using SteemPress. However, plagiarism, spam, copy-pasted content etc will not be curated by us, nor will we support curation groups who do.

It's really annoying. One thing is the abuse of the rewards pool. Another is the massive increase in work needed to effectively curate good users who must always be assumed guilty until proven innocent to avoid rewarding bad actors.
We have met a couple of times and I don't know if I mentioned I work with @steemflagrewards who look for and deal with abuse. We may be able to let you know of cases you should look at. We don't like to see people get away with abusing Steem.

I'm fully aware of that and that's not something I was trying to refute in this post but rather invite the good whales to show them how we don't really approve of such behavior here.
I mean, if everyone was to follow their lead, this place would quickly go to the crapper. Don't you agree? It already has, to some extent. Most votes are botted or on auto pilot and there is little human interaction going on, which is slowly but surely eroding the social aspect of our beloved platform.

Yep, that's exactly what's going on here. When the incentive is to earn as much as you can, greed overtakes common sense and people turn greedy. Colluding, abusing and doing whatever they can to get those sweet upvotes.

Thanks @kid4life! It was actually an accident. They filled one of my orders on the internal market and I saw the name Teleskop which is a word in Croatian so I took a look and was very surprised to see the sheer amount abuse these guys are doing on a daily basis.
Also the shitposts man.... I mean, common! Couldn't have you invested 10 seconds to at least make it look like it's worth something.
By not doing that bare minimum amount of work they are showing how little respect they have for this place.

Easier said than done. Abusing the platform isn't cool, but it's been going on for a while now.
Every now and then people like you and other accounts would make a post observing voting abusing cases, some accounts shout out "let's change the culture", some saying "let's change the system", either of the changes might work actually. but that's it.
Although some efforts have been done. Nothing ever changes, except now we all know most are abusing so, but besides, nothing changes and I doubt will ever change.
I agree but that doesn't mean it can't be changed. What I would like to see is a community powered account with a couple million SP delegated dealing with these kind of abuse.
Kind of like what @steemcleaners is doing but only looking at serious vote abuse cases like this one.
Maybe put up a weekly wall of shame post to trending listing all of the accounts on the caught 10xing themselves, burning them to ashes with a couple million SP and inviting the rest of the community to throw in their small flags just to show that we are against such behavior.
Been thinking about it for a while now, should write up my thoughts and see what the community thinks about it.
Then again, vote exchange is the same thing no? 10 alt account, 1 alt account, vote exchange based on SP with 9 other accounts. Maybe for bigger accounts it's difficult to find equal SP holders, so they are creating 10 alts...Basically everyone is kinda doing either these three. If there need a wall of shame, don't think there're enough places tho.

It would be a difficult task but I think it's one worth pursuing for the long term sustainability of this platform. Think about it. If most just milk the system, who is going to reward the newcomers?

If I were to use their platform to showcase my artwork one of their curators will upvote me getting zero and this curator will leave a generic comment on my post and @ntopaz will reward that generic comment with 0.15 for leaving a copy paste canned comment whereas the content curator like me gets nothing. Can anyone look into it?

Some people confuse flagging for curation with censorship. The intention is different. S one of us who flag abuse cannot make a huge difference, but we can make the vote buying non-profitable in some cases, which may make them think again. Isn't it better to get real engagement where the votes come for free?

I meant the profitability of buying votes. If they only make about 10% of what the post gets then removing that gets their attention. Flagging generally earns you nothing, but the @steemflagrewards project rewards those who take action. I would do it anyway as I feel it's good for Steem as a whole. I also delegate to a load of people to help them out.
