First Dates

When the three brothers created RG Core Technologies, Archibald and Nestor bought a two-hectare land that they split into two parts of one hectare each. On his land, Archibald started to build a large workshop where the company was to build prototype robots.

The main concept for the robots was that they would have 3 parts.

The main central part would contain the power supply (batteries), the computing unit with its memory, and the electric and data interfaces electric. It also included a differential GPS receiver and an external communication system.

The second part was the base that provided movement. And the third part was an assembly with the tools and sensors.

The first prototype they built was a gardening robot. This was the reason why they had bought the land so that they could test and demonstrate their robots.

It took them almost a year to build and test the main central part with all its interfaces, controlled by the software system that Nestor has written. Then they tested it with the moving base and finally with the various gardening tools that they had fabricated too.

And at the beginning of 2024, they were ready to demonstrate their prototype robots in Archibald garden.
And they quickly made a deal with a small manufacturer in Richmond, RBC Happy Robots Ltd, that soon after was distributing their gardening robot systems under their own brand.

At this time, the company had some regular income. Their father invested in the business and the three brothers left their daily jobs and started to design a bigger agricultural robot, following the same concept.

After working for two years for West Coat Hauling, Moana bought her own self-driving electric truck and started working as an independent contractor. She got the truck at a reduced price because she made a deal with the manufacturer to test the self-driving system. From time to time. she had to install new sensors or new versions of the system and test it so that it can be certified. She had a special license from the certification authorities to use her truck before the system was fully certified.

After a full year of communicating casually in full view of all the other subscribers of the gaming forum they were using, Nestor and Moana, having discovered that they were both French citizens, decided to start talking to each other directly through direct messages,

They progressed very slowly in their relationship. They both avoid telling the other about their jobs. There were plenty of subjects to talk about, including family, education, cultural events, etc...

Finally, they decided to meet in person. They sent each other a picture and on Monday, February 26th 2025, they had coffee together in a Starbucks in Burnaby.

After an hour talking together, they decided to have dinner on Wednesday night at a very good Indian restaurant in Vancouver: Sula. The reason they chose this restaurant was that Nestor had been vegan for several years and there was a wide choice of vegan dishes at Sula.

During dinner, they finally explained in detail their jobs. Nestor was intrigued by this 25-year-old girl who was educated and had become a self-employed truck driver.

By the end of the dinner, Moana had an idea for their third date:

  • On Friday, I am going to Kirkland, in Washington State, to move a trailer full of goods to British Columbia for Costco. Do you want to go with me?
