I see quite a few hive accounts, old accounts with 75 + rep that posts daily crap like clockwork and there are no comments and a couple of auto comments; and they are still on autovotes, pulling $10-15 on some posts!
Why?
Get them off your auto votes!

I think the hpud at least is motivational for smaller creators. I like to do that monthly review, calculate the portion I want to PU, see my account growth and feel good about it.
Auto-Votes can be the same motivation in the beginning. I got quite a few for quite a while, which stopped when I reached 5k. I'm still on some folks list I think, but a lot less than in the beginning. Which is fine. I use auto-vote myself for the people I get on board, hoping that it motivates.
But yes, for Rep75 and plus accounts, it doesn't really make much sense. They usually have enough attention anyway to get good voting results, if they create adequate content.
And I don't even know what "I am alive" posts are 😅
Yes, there are a lot of "farming" activities you don't know, and that's probably for the better
I like seeing HPUD posts, it makes me feel like people still care about Hive. I have not done one for a while, but hoping to power up 1000+ Hive for the next HPUD so maybe I will do a shit post with my HP progress :)
Sure you can. You can make a decent post with virtually anything. I explained that with actifit, and you certainly do that but a lot of people doesn’t.

Damn that is a lot. I don't particularly like autovotes because most of the time people who autovote are not leaving comments. So in a blog autovotes seems to be doing more harm than good. I remember some gaming phrase saying "It's a feature, not a bug". So for me autovotes seems more like a bug and less like a feature...
There are times it is okay, most of the time unnecessary. It is a bit like autoplayers on a game - is it still a game?
I don't understand some of the accounts that are consistently in the top posts, with zero engagement and nothing interesting. No one reads them, no one cares, but there they are...
I think there should be a mechanism that resets autovotes every 6 months or so, or some kind of decay that forces people to stay engaged.
