I know. I certainly couldn't down them all day. That beast is a vicious pomeranian. Her face and eyes are so black it's hard to get a reasonable picture. But, she does steal my beer. Happy weekend dude!

It is a solid beer. The stubby holder is pretty damn awesome too. 😎
Stubby holders are not a thing here in Ireland... A scorcher here is 24 degrees, and we might get it a couple of times a year :o) But when I was in Oz for the year, I brought 4 or 5 Stubby holders back... Great souvenirs and I always crack them out when we get some sun on those rare occasions!
I don't think I would survive in Ireland. 24 degrees is bordering on cold.

Cans really manage to preserve the beer a lot better than glass! I decided to pick up a canned IPA too! These hops need absolute darkness.

Perhaps the beeriest of all beers... Classic.. Looks decent and the first brewery in Nebraska since prohibition, cool... I'm just glad I wasn't around for prohibition, imagine no beer!! shudder at the thought :o)
My mistake, I should have clarified in my post. There have been plenty of breweries in Nebraska since prohibition but this is the first brewery/distillery combination. But yes, the thought of prohibition scares me!

It's pretty common in every pub/bar and thank God it is. It is delicious and strong. I've choosen this one because the description on the back is ridiculous. It says: Blond, robust, smooth and fruity. To me these are impossible te combine, but the beer just did it! Try as soon as you can if you haven't done before. Otherwise drink another one!!! Who cares!!

This is my story as capitalists are killing tradition. Last week the Jan Linders supermarket announced that it has 7,200 bottles of Westvletern 12 and Westvleteren 8, and they are going to sell it at price 9,95 EUR per bottle, more than three times as normal price and agains the monks tradition.

Thanks for this informative post, very interesting indeed, I haven't had the good fortune of tasting this elusive beer, but hopefully I'll get a chance one day.. Have you been able to try it yourself?
Yes, I tried it once. My colleague bought a cage one time. It is really good beer, but I think its exclusivity is because of distribution process. It makes this beer very special, if you would be able to buy it in your local supermarket even with huge price it would be not the same.
That's class that you've tried it considering how rare it is... It's a clever business idea for the monks especially if supply is limited... If I ever make it over to that part of the world, I will try and visit the monastery
Remember to call them first :), BTW in souvenir shops in Brussels and Brugge you could buy this beer, off course it is illegal, but they compensate the risk with higher price, much higher :)
