Hello fellow Steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of North America.

Your entries need to be submitted by the midnight of Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. The rule number one is to use only personal images. Ten winning photos will receive an upvote from me from which I will pick one winner that will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts.

The winner of daily challenge then competes against winners from other continental challenges of the respective week to receive the price of 20 SBD. That will be decided by you based on the dollar value of upvotes of my winning post announcement. The winning weekly picture then automatically enters other rounds for the price of 200 SBD in total.

Please see the winners of the previous daily contests and give them your support if you like their images to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for your favorites by upvoting their winner announcement posts below:

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #16 – winner announcement!

@narchuk Asian Sunday entry:

It happened in Thailand, in the Andaman Sea. At the very end of the dive I saw a sea turtle. She swam from coral to coral and did not notice my presence. Turtles are very calm, if you do not touch them. I swam next to her doing a frame-by-frame. At some point a flock of small fish swept past us. It lasted just a couple of seconds. I managed to make only one photo.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans week #16 – winner announcement!

@dmytrokorol Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans entry:

When I first met the Ocean
We had been driving out of Lisbon to the south when the road led us to the coast. And I saw the ocean. And the setting sun. The colors were so beautiful! We stopped at the first place we had found I grabbed my gear and ran to the beach. Lucky me! It was Praia da Sines with these beautiful wooden stairs and the stones on the sandy beach. The first meeting was gorgeous. I knew there is more to come.

One thing southern California has in abundance are beaches. There are miles and miles of beautiful coastline where locals and tourists go to relax and enjoy the view. This is a photo of Hermosa Beach, just south of Los Angeles, taken on Christmas Day. It's just another reason I love living here in LA.

What a great picture Matt! Thank you for your submission. Stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Joshua Tree National Park
North-East of Palm Springs is the famous Joshua Tree National Park which is named after the Joshua Tree (Yucca brevifolia). The Mojave Desert with its climate is the perfect place for the tree to grow. You can also find 1.6 billion year old stones in the park. Most of them show smooth edges and are formed in unique formations. We visited in 2016 during our honey moon. And yeah it was insanely hot!

The Canadian Rockys are really a place were we big humans can actually feel very small. Seeing this road snaking through the wilderness, massive mountains and endless forest is bringing back memories of great road trips.

Thank you for your participation and entry. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

This photo is from September 2014, when we were on 21 days long trip around USA. I am sure that most of you can recognize what is on the picture, mighty Grand Canyon. It was rainy day, so I thought that such photos won’t be possible but late afternoon the sun looked out and glorious sunset began.

Splendind picture! I absolutely love Crand Canyon. Should be on everyone's list to visit at one point in life. Tomas

A storm is passing over the South Rim of the Grand Canyon as seen from Mohave Point back in 2009. This landscape is unbelievable and when you first walk up to the rim you can't fathom the dimensions of the landscape in front of you. At least this is how it felt for me.

Absolutely stunning! What a great image!

This picture was taken from the top of the Kaau Crater Ridge hike on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The hike is a long and tiring one that lasted 4 to 5 hours and take you up 3 different waterfalls to the top of the crater. One of the best hikes on oahu by far.

Thank you so much for your entry! Great image. Tomas

When I was on a USA road trip some years ago I wanted to capture some images in the old-fashioned way without digital cameras and computers. The perfect motive for this was the well-known Monument Valley in Arizona. So I used a medium format camera with Black-and-White films. I developed these films and enlarged the pictures on baryt paper. Baryt Paper is the paper which was used 100 years ago before modern photo paper was invented. The whole process took me some hours in the lab. The picture below shows a scan of the final image.

Amazing picture! I was lucky enough to spend 1 month in Arizona. What an amazing place. Tomas

Thank You :) Yes, Arizona is really amazing. Everybody should have seen Monument Valley and Grand Canyon...

Taken on my trip to Banff last October, The Canadian Rockies look spectacular and are filled with activities at all time of the year. This picture was taken from a lookout point on Highway 1 towards Lake Louise.

Thank you for selecting my picture as one of your 10! :)

Catalina Island, California !

This is 'not' one of those places come to any ones mind if you ask about best places to visit in California. This photograph was shot when we visited here a few years back . I was amazed to see mind blowing views, mostly untouched and also how clean they are maintaining the Island. Islanders even could take you to your own private remote beach. One needs to take a ferry from Los Angeles or you could fly in on a helicopter. Interestingly this place also has a very small airport !

Sunning shot! Thank you for your submission. Tomas

Thank you !

This photo is from below the Williamburg Bridge in Lower Manhatten New York. It was taken as a long exposure to make it look a bit surreal and the reflection looked pretty cool. NewYork_BW.jpg

Great shot. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Photo of the Potomac River taken at the Great Falls Park in Virginia, USA. This is a popular site to visit. As it can be seen was taken during winter. This panoramic photo was formed by stitching two photos.

Iconic Kukulcan Pyramid at Chichen Itza, the most famous and best-preserved monument left by the ancient Mayan civilization. Visitors used to be allowed to climb up the pyramid but after a fatal accident, the top of the pyramid is not accessible anymore. Definitely one of the places you should visit when in Mexico. Photo taken in May 2017.

Took this picture after hiking to the top of a small mountain at Valley of Fire just outside of Las Vegas Nevada. The colors here are amazing, you really need to see it to believe it! When people hear Vegas, they think casinos, but there's so much more!

Sometimes one person does something, and then others follow. This is a tree in beautiful Big Bear, CA. Even though the sign says ecological reserve, and even though trees don't walk, people like to give it shoes....

Portland, Oregon

We loved our time in Oregon and on our last day we wanted to go and visit the waterfalls, unfortunately we didn't have enough time before our train to get out and hike up to them so I took this photo from our car and really loved it, because of the movement I also got reflections from the window of all the colours in the trees and I feel lit captured the atmosphere of this amazing place!

This is the Capilano suspension bridge in Vancouver, Canada. I took this photo on July 24, 2017 just before crossing the bridge. OMG I had no idea how shaky and how much it would sway. It gets pretty scary half way through but by then it is too late to turn around

This picture was taken at California Sea Otter Game Refuge in the USA. We were there for a few days at a nearby glamping area and came across this area. The view here was stunning. You would need a car to get here as we didn't see any public transport around the area. The scenery here was flawless.

This amazing story happened to me on the island of Bering (part of Aleuthian islands).

Getting there is not easy. And getting to the rookery is even more difficult. But if you go to the end, you can make amazing photos.
If you stay all the time in the water, then the animals perceive you as another seal. This is certainly not as simple as it seems. The water temperature in the Bering Sea does not exceed 8-9 degrees. And the use of dry suits and scuba divers repels seals.

But all the difficulties were immediately forgotten. Dozens of tiny creatures clung to me from all sides. They quickly realized that I was not dangerous. For about an hour I became their new toy.Baby of the sea

This is what Manhattan looks from Redhook. It always nice to take a break from the heart of big apple. At the back is rising the island and its massive buildings and in the front, these classics yellow school buses parked right there waiting for the end of class to pick the kids.

Redhook is an artsy place to visit in New York and I'll be honest with you, the shot was taken from Ikea's cafeteria!

A cheap and nice meal with a comfortable view... What else?

Location: Redhook, New York.

I had a very short period in 2012. I went to my brother who went to America for Work and Travel. It's a great city. I guess I'd like to stay there longer for years.Everything was so beautiful and I am sure it is a very rich country. Days can be visited for months.

This is my photo from New York City with Hudson River - The City That Never Sleeps, that saying I was totally true :-D. There is also another saying about New York: You love it or you hate it. I'm actually somewhere in the middle. I like it a lot, but I could never live there because I was born in a small village so I would miss the nature.

This photo comes from the Montreal Botanical Garden in Montreal, Canada. This is one of the many beautiful arrangements of plants that the garden features. It is a wonderful place to go if you are looking to relax while surrounding yourself with nature! It seems fairly rare for a city this big to have such a large green space - definitely worth checking out if you are ever visiting!

Thanks Tomas, totally understand, there's some incredible entries this week!

My sister works as a hostess in Turkish Airlines. He fulfilled the promise he gave me two years ago during the summer vacation. He took me to America. Central Park is the most beautiful place for me to visit while we are in America.

Alberta, Canada - Although most of the year we're covered in snow, the summer here is amazing. Towards the end of the summer all of the canola fields glow a perfect yellow. (Although, walking through the fields gets a bit itchy...it makes for decent pics!)

Picture taken on my recent visit to DC. The Lincoln Memorial at Night is a beautiful spectacle. Open 24 hours a day, tourist visit at night to admire the monument lit up and to walk the National Mall. Many locals hang out and party, sing and take in the scenery. President's have been known to visit at night, and even attracted Nixon to spend a night with the Hippies.

The glacier in Alaska, the USA, is probably one of the most interesting things that I saw in my life. I had such an opportunity when I worked on the cruise ship. The feeling of observing the huge ice piece was incredible, moreover, when I realized that the biggest part is underwater.
