Finally we can share it with you new look and improvements of Surfer! eSteem Surfer which is a desktop (Mac, Windows, Linux) interface/client for Steem blockchain has grown to second version with totally revamped user interface and new codebase. So the app should be much faster, beautiful and handier to use and it works at least 5 times faster than legacy 1.x eSteem Surfer.
This is an alpha release but major shift in our development, expect more weekly changes and upgrades to take this product in new highs. There could be some non-critical bugs and some features might be missing yet. We are still working hard to build and realize all feature set we have in mind and really need your help in testing it, commenting it, giving your feedback.
Each and every user experience is valuable for us. So if you really care about the future of eSteem products, please involve in testing. We are creating this for you!
These are still work in progress screens and there is a big chance that release version will look little bit different on your machine. You also have an ability to influence on future eSteem Surfer design, user interface and feature set so feel free to suggest anything.
Note: This is alpha release, some features are still in works and we will do weekly release to deliver all missing features.
You can choose your operating system (Mac OS, Windows or Linux) and download eSteem Surfer 2 alpha release installer from official eSteem GitHub page.

I'm encountering a lot of problems with this version. I can't use any of my drafts. Editing a post is almost impossible, even creating one is really hard. It's become useless right now. I hope you will fix it.

Yes, app should notify you when there is new update. If you were using old version of Surfer, you should also be able to update seemlessly.

That's great! It's just so annoying to use versions that updates very frequently, and you have to manually download an installer each time. So this is good to hear :)

Hi @bluemoon, thank you for checking out the update. Since this was ground up new app with performance and new design in mind, we didn't include above mentioned features yet. We are working on them and expect weekly and later bi-weekly updates on Surfer. Which will have all features from v1 and more...

used to be an icon now, I've got to type it out myself. Totally can't copy and paste. I've got Draft then No Drafts then totally got removed.
Sure hope that this gets resolved soon @good-karma. Missing using esteem for my post.
if you really miss eSteem posting you can stay on eSteem Surfer 1.1.12 for now as I do. But keep looking on @esteemapp news for future releases. That missing features will be added soon.

Thank you! Version 2.00 looks very good and I'm sure it will be a pleasure to use it for maximum capacity. I have gone through every update to the latest version and I've always found something new, an improvement. That's why I made these observations, believing there are some escapes or bugs. Because I participate in various challenges I have to fast post and I need drafts. It was the reason that I noticed ... in the desire to help.
I have only been using eSteem Surfer for a long time and that's why I was upset that I had to go to Steemit to make an edit. After that, it appeared that the post was made in Steemit ... and it's not so!
Thanks for the answer and clarification, I look forward to the final version of eSteem Surfer 2.00 and I will probably use eSteem Surfer 1.1.12 for a couple of weeks, as @dunsky suggests.
I have exact same feelings and user experience on new alpha release, so I understand what you are trying to tell. I also rely on drafts and schedules a lot right now, using 3 different accounts and preparing posts for my own blog and for other projects daily, that's why I have to stick with old Surfer 1.1.12 still. But I believe we will shift to 2.0 pretty soon. Maybe next week or in few weeks we will have all the functions we miss and it will work even better than legacy version.
I'm sure version 2.0 will be much superior. I saw a little of it. I look forward to working with. Thanks a lot for clarification!
I can't make surfer updates, because the notebook I use doesn't support 64 bits.

This is my first comments using eSteem Surfer Alpha. I got great experience with this, I saw very nice interface, and friendly to eyes of user with night mode.

eSteem Surfer 2.0.0 alpha don't have notification center implementation yet. It will be added in future releases. Hopefully very soon.
Looks really cool. Does it need our master password or is posting key enough to use it and test it out?
You can use SteemConnect or any of your keys (Master, Active or Posting). And your keys never leaves your device. They are encrypted and additionally protected with PIN code you can choose during the first start of app.

Notifications are coming with next update batches, within week. We will start migrating all features from v1 to v2. Stay tuned!

Yes, it's possible to use eSteem Surfer 1.1.12 still. You can get it from eSteem official github https://github.com/esteemapp/esteem-surfer/releases/tag/1.1.12 once you install it it will tell there is an update to 2.0 just ignore it unless you want to update...

Well downloading it and installing it on Windows 10, worked like a dream. Also the connection with steemconnect went flawless.

Hello! After I save a draft with the "upvote box" unchecked, when I return to it, the box is checked again. Why?
