Happy to meet again, hivers friends who are members of this @hiveopenmic community. "Intransigent Evolution", the theme given this time is very interesting to be applied to the song of our choice. Although at first I had a little trouble understanding the meaning of this theme, I finally found a song that I believe fits the theme.
Uniquely, the song that I brought this time was a song composed by myself. A song I wrote several years ago in Indonesian language. I usually write my lyrics in Acehnese language that originally my mother tongue. This song tittle "BERLALU" can describe the meaning of human evolution from an unrighteous path to a better one.
I will share a little story with you about the motivation for the birth of this song. This song was created during difficult times at the beginning of COVID19. At that time I was still working in Jakarta as an English teacher. When the COVID outbreak hit all of us, the condition of the course where I taught was affected which resulted in having to stop operating.
This condition triggers a high level of stress in me. It worst due to I'm stuck again in an old bad habit. I went back to using drugs to deal with the level of stress that was driving me almost crazy. Not only did I return as an active user, I also started to become a drug courier for friends in need. All that I did to get money to finance my life overseas.
I cried almost every night at that time. The cry felt fake because it happened at a time when the reaction from the drug was decreasing. But my little heart I can not lie that I want to get out of this situation. This has happened too many times, and I always seem to make myself a victim. Victims who are looking for justification for using drugs because of the many burdens in my life.
It was at this worst moment that this song was created. I have to get up to get out of this situation. By then I was too deep. I don't know how to get out of this situation anymore. There were two choices at that time, die or be arrested by the police. Finally the second choice happened to me.
Right a week after this song was created, I was arrested by the police. Three days before my birthday on October 5, 2020. I spent four nights in the detention cell of the Tanjung Duren Police, West Jakarta. My father had to pay a certain amount of bail so I could get out of prison. An embarrassing moment because I had to involve my family to clean up my stupidity.
