¡Vaya día que hemos tenido! Sigo sintiendo un revoltijo de emociones, entre el estrés por la competencia y la adrenalina del circo. Es una locura, pero ¡ha sido genial!
Tenemos ya bastante tiempo recuperando el parque ya que esta estado lamentable, las barritas para hacer dominadas rotas, el suelo levantado, pero poco a poco hemos recuperado el parque pero aun le fata mucho, Entre todos nos propusimos hacer algo. El problema es que un arreglo así cuesta un ojo de la cara, y las actividades de recaudación de fondos entre nosotros no iban a ser suficientes.

What a day we've had! I'm still feeling a mix of emotions, between the stress of the competition and the adrenaline of the circus. It's crazy, but it's been great!
We've been restoring the park for quite some time now, as it's in a sorry state—the pull-up bars are broken, the floor is lifted—but little by little, we've recovered the park, but it still needs a lot of work. Together, we decided to do something. The problem is that such a repair costs an arm and a leg, and fundraising activities among us just weren't going to be enough.
Fue entonces cuando a Miguel, que siempre tiene la cabeza en las nubes, se le ocurrió la idea: el Circo que estaba en el pueblo y tenía un concurso de talentos con un premio bastante jugoso para el primer lugar. El plan era sencillo (o eso creíamos): ganar el premio y usar el dinero para arreglar el parque.
Lo gracioso es que nuestro "acto" es una mezcla de todo lo que hacemos bien, o al menos lo que practicamos: Miguel hace Hapkido y tiene una fuerza impresionante, así que diseñamos una rutina donde él hace unas posturas estáticas de equilibrio súper tensas y controladas, casi como si fuera una estatua, pero con patadas rápidas y formas marciales espectaculares.
That's when Miguel, who always has his head in the clouds, came up with the idea: the circus in town was holding a talent contest with a pretty juicy prize for first place. The plan was simple (or so we thought): win the prize and use the money to fix up the park.
The funny thing is that our "act" is a mix of everything we do well, or at least what we practice: Miguel does Hapkido and has impressive strength, so we designed a routine where he performs super-tense and controlled static balancing poses, almost like a statue, but with quick kicks and spectacular martial arts.
El mago la cual no recuerdo su nombre creo que es Martyn es el encargado de la parte "artística"; nos cuadro el acto y las acrobacias yo me subo a los hombros de Miguel y hacemos una piramide parecen sacados de una película de acción. Yo, bueno, yo soy el principal en la torre ya que estoy a puro equilibrio, no les voy a mentir si me da como vaina subirme pero no tenemos de otra si queremos ganar todo fue improvisado pero tratando que vaya fluido y que nadie se caiga.
Hoy hemos estado ensayando la rutina con una intensidad que no es normal, y es que hoy es el primer acto. Ha sido un caos total, nos tropezamos mil veces y la música se cortó justo cuando Miguel hacía su mejor parada de manos. Mauricio casi me golpea con su pierna en una pirueta, pero en lugar de enfadarnos, nos reímos a carcajadas. Es ese tipo de energía divertida y caótica la que hace que este grupo funcione.
The magician, whose name I can't remember, I think it's Martyn, is in charge of the "artistic" part; he coordinates the act and the acrobatics. I climb on Miguel's shoulders and we create a pyramid that looks like something out of an action movie. Well, I'm the main one on the tower since I'm all about balance. I won't lie if I'm a bit of a pain to climb, but we have no choice if we want to win. Everything was improvised, but we tried to make it flow smoothly and make sure no one falls.
Today we've been rehearsing the routine with an intensity that's unusual, since today is the first act. It's been total chaos; we tripped a thousand times, and the music cut out just as Miguel was doing his best handstand. Mauricio almost hit me with his leg during a pirouette, but instead of getting angry, we laughed out loud. It's that kind of fun, chaotic energy that makes this group tick.
Lo mejor de todo es que este entrenamiento para el circo está resultando ser perfecto para la competencia del sabado. Las barritas del parque son clave para nuestro entrenamiento de fuerza y flexibilidad, así que arreglarlas es una prioridad.
La sincronización que estamos ganando, el control del cuerpo, la resistencia... todo se complementa. Mientras hacemos equilibrio en el escenario del circo, estamos entrenando la concentración que necesitamos para la competencia. Es un dos por uno épico. Estamos tan enfocados en ambos objetivos que la motivación está por las nubes. Si ganamos el premio, no solo tendremos el parque impecable, sino que sabremos que nuestro esfuerzo dio frutos de una manera totalmente inesperada. Es una sensación increíble. Deséennos suerte para ver si pasamos a las eliminatorias de mañana; ¡la necesitamos!
The best part is that this circus training is turning out to be perfect for Saturday's competition. The monkey bars in the park are key to our strength and flexibility training, so fixing them is a priority.
The synchronization we're gaining, our body control, our endurance—everything complements each other. While we balance on the circus stage, we're training the concentration we need for the competition. It's an epic two-for-one. We're so focused on both goals that our motivation is sky-high. If we win the prize, not only will our park be spotless, but we'll know that our efforts paid off in a totally unexpected way. It's an incredible feeling. Wish us luck as we make it through to tomorrow's playoffs; we need it!
