Number 6: Mindfulness, Meditation & Stir-fried Veggies

Fortunately

Serendipity has a way of connecting things in life that just makes sense: finding an empty seat on the bus during rush hour, getting a message from an old friend you were thinking of texting a few minutes ago, finding an article about mindfulness while planning to write one.

I was thinking about writing an article about #mindfulness when I chanced upon this post by @naturalmedicine. The post promotes mindfulness, practical insights, practices and shares amazing articles showing what it is. This is a great quote from the article and sums up what mindfulness should be in the context of current events:

“So, Mindfulness isn't just for Buddhists, Yogis or New Agers. It's for everyone that wants to get the most out of life, live it on their own terms and do so in the most positive way possible.”

With all that is happening now, I still believe that all is well in the world. The invisible hand of destiny quietly guides us, unpretentiously and without prejudice. The magnitude of the Coronavirus pandemic is unnerving and the quarantine protocols set in place has taken a toll on us because not everyone can meditate all day.

But, sitting all day in meditation to understand what our life and the universe is shouting at us is one path, but it isn’t the only one; we can also read articles from the Natural Medicine community on the #hive blockchain (shameless self-promotion. LOL.) to take a small step towards enlightenment. But seriously though, it’s about connecting to like-minded people who share the same passion for life and bringing the best out of everyone. It brings a different perspective from the outside that might resonate with the light you have within. But, don’t take my word for it, you can read about it here link.

A short story about meditation and coping with isolation...

Whenever I close my eyes to meditate, I am greeted by a cacophony of memories, images and ideas scrambling everywhere. Then a time comes when it becomes something that I would call a subconscious symphony. Then arrives that moment when that sublime feeling of something indescribable occurs. Finally, I smell vegetarian stir-fried tofu from the kitchen and I know that it’s time to eat dinner. :-)

Joyful Journey

Of course, this is just me. Meditation is a personal practice that anyone can do. All, if not most, of the seasoned meditators that I know of have developed their own unique way of opening up to the divine and this is what makes it remarkable: in meditation, as in life, there are many paths leading up to the same destination; a mindful life is being aware of that we share this journey with others, hopefully, to uplift each other at times when we grow tired.

Conclusion

As we enter another day, uncertain of what the future awaits, I want to practice being more mindful of how I affect others with my words and actions. Thanks for sharing this short journey with me. I appreciate the attention you gave to my ramblings about life and meditation however trivial it may be.

That’s it for now. All the best and keep safe everyone.

I came for this quote from @vincentnijiman's curation post.
For me, I've felt so full of thought and emotions. Today, I exploded. I came to an state of profound feeling I could only cry and scream from very deeply inside. I feel, sometimes being all out of place is exactly the right path that leads us to that place where you can actually listen to your heart. Or to the all.

I feel even if we are just us, or myself would be a better word to use, we are still part of an Everything and I think during this quarantine people MUST be doing a lot of shadow work, even if they don't know realize it, because I KNOW the overwhelming train of thoughts and emotions I've been feeling come from a lot of places from all over the world to only intensify my own process.

It's been as raw and frustrating as beautiful.

I'm thankful that @vincentnijiman shared my post. We never really know what will resonate with other people. I'm glad that the quote resonated with you. Sometimes, we just react to the situation presented to us because it's the only thing we can do and just make the best of it. Yes, I agree that people are doing "shadow work" these days. The situation is ripe... Thanks for dropping by and sharing your experience with us. Stay safe @neyxirncn.

No better time to practice mindfulness than a global pandemic. My favorite part of mindfulness is the reality that we can practice it anywhere, anytime. Whether we're driving on the highway, picking the kids up from school, or in yoga class. No wrong answers. Thanks for sharing!

So true @comingalive. Everywhere and anytime sums up the practice. And yes, this is the best time to do it, we've been practicing for thousands of years already. lol Thanks for dropping by to read and leaving a comment. I appreciate it. :)

GREAT post. Sometimes meditation IS just sitting with a busy mind..
A processing of thoughts, if you will, an allowing of what is to just be. Lately I've struggled to sit with a busy mind, but I still try. Been doing a lot of moving meditation through yoga which helps to.

Nice to meet you.

Yes, it's been like that for me too these days. The yin and yang energies always do what they are supposed to, i guess. But, yeah, still do it. Thanks for the insight @riverflows. Sometimes, it feels good to know that other people have the same experience. Nice to meet you. :)

honestly, it’s about connecting to like-minded people who share the same passion for life and bringing the best out of everyone. It brings a different perspective from the outside that might resonate with the light you have within.

Beautifully put and I can only agree with this. This is what I found in this little corner of the blockchain, where I made great friends.

Since I started practicing mindfulness and meditation in the last three or four years my life has changed incredibly. I like to say that I cured my depression without medicine and that is not far from the truth.

As we enter another day, uncertain of what the future awaits, I want to practice being more mindful of how I affect others with my words and actions.

Same here and I have no doubt I'm already doing this. My upcoming children's book(s) about Hypersensitivosaurus / SuperZENsitivosaurus will hopefully play an even bigger part in this.

Thank you for sharing this nice personal story with us. I'm looking forward to more similar, lighthearted content.

All is well indeed :>)

Great to hear from you @vincentnijman. Happy to see you dropped by and made a comment. More importantly, I'm glad that my experience resonated with someone. It's good to get feedback that a writer had written something which affected a reader. So, yeah, I hope to share more of my small and trivial stories here. Congratulations in advance for your children's book. I'm certain that it will be a good influence to the young ones. Keep safe... :)

You're welcome, Juan :<)

So, yeah, I hope to share more of my small and trivial stories here.

Your small stories are as important as those of any other person.

And yeah, I'll do my best to make my children's book both a good read and influence on kids as on their parents that read the stories to them.

Big hug,

Vincent

Thanks, give me a heads up once you've published your children's book and I will promote it on my social media. You never know who might be interested in it.

All the best,
@juanvegetarian

I appreciate your offer and suggest that you keep an eye on my blog.
That way you'll surely find out :<)
