Welcome to this second Question Of The Week for Season 9! This week we try to make sense of the world and way it works. This world is full of happiness and also suffering. Nature itself is ruthless, we only have to watch predators in action to witness the sheer primal nature that is life. Did someone make us? Did someone make this? If there is a God and s/he is so wonderful and good, then why create all this suffering? This is a deep question, and it requires a spiritual outlook to really answer it!
There is no logical answer to any question concerning God, so let us hear what you think! There are some people who refuse to even believe in God due to the amount of suffering there is in the world. The famous UK actor and comedian Stephen Fry has shared many time this very notion and has had a a good debate on TV. Stephen is an atheist for this very reason. So if you too are an atheist then you are invited to answer this question without having to believe there is a God. Either way the question stands, which is why it is written IF there is a God. If you do not believe in God for this reason please do share about that instead.

Regardless of the "god" portion of the question, it's really a simple answer: Because humans often choose suffering for themselves, sometimes even attempting to spread it to others.
So true! Or.. is it their upbringing and the world in which they liventhat made them so?
Definitely, it's their parents, school, media that teach them to choose suffering... But in today's world where every text and teaching is available almost instantly for free - ignorance is always a choice.
From what I read, those of us who believe in God are not invited to give our opinion, even if it is something simple to answer... nice day for everyone

Free will maybe? I heard that's important but it also includes all the bad stuff. Also people always go by the rule God has to be size scale of something we can put into a size measure, but what if that entity is too big to meddle into our affairs without destroying for example the observable universe ... That would be inconvenient.
