Some beautiful sights here on Valentines Day!

A Happy Valentines Day to All!

Today I will show you a mix of photos to display the wonders in nature. So let your eyes feed your minds and your souls with the beauties of mother nature's free gift to all of us on this planet.
Life is fleeting and we should enjoy every moment.

Now I am not as usual going to identify each dragonfly specie here, as I want you to see if you can identify each one. The photos were taken by me in South Africa and here is some help to identify them.
https://dragonflies.co.za/odonata-anisoptera

I saw this guy flying in and knew where he was headed.
114.JPG

Bang! One second flying and the next second sitting.
116.JPG

Can you see the emoji in the top part of this floating leaf?
A little bubble sporting a face.
352.JPG

I might as well tell you that this is an Acraea butterfly.
See if you can find the specie name.
287.JPG

A black panther here? No, only a thirsty black cat.
Of the species (Cattaneous deluxious) 🤣
140.JPG

Another Acraea butterfly on a blue flower.
214.JPG

A daring frog sun tanning in the heat, as he knows that the raptor birds are in the shade.

This guy below is from a suborder that is regarded as True Dragonflies and you will find him in the link above.
208.JPG

Another new guy here that will not be so easy to identify.
055.JPG

Now what kind of a flower do you think this is?
068.JPG

I see many posts sporting animals and insects that the authors have not identified. The same happens with bird posts.
So, what I am trying to do here is to show people how to identify specific species.
The link that I have posted in the introduction pertains to South Africa and Africa, but most countries have their own lists of nature's residents.

So, don't post just to chase money, but rather do quality and detailed posts for your enjoyment. If you enjoy your posts, there are bound to be others that will also enjoy your posts and those are the kinds of people that you want to attract.
A slap bang post is in nobody's interests.

And That's All Friends.

Note: As usual all photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera.

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for supporting a post by @papilloncharity

Happy Valentine Day to you too! Wonderful shots as always ^_^

Sorry, a bit late, but I hope that you had a great Vantines Day my friend.
Glad that you liked the photos and may you have a great new week.

Blessings and !WINE

I won't say anything about the cat, although it's nice to see one in your posts 😉

But I will say that I like the dragonflies, especially the photo of the brown one without a name looks great.
The flower looks like a Tropaeolum majus to me, but my app could be wrong of course 😉

That's a great post, as always Zac 😄

I just had to place that cat, even if it doesn't fit into the theme of the post andc oh yeah, I knew that you would like it 😉

Congrats on the ID of the flower, as you were the first and yes indeed, it is a Nasturtium right here in our garden. Whenever we have sore throats we crush their leaves and gargle them. An instant fix and many people eat them.

I think that mountain goats will also eat them, but not me as I am not a goat 🤣
Cheers and thanks.

Hey cool, sometimes the app is wrong, but your photo of the blossom was good 😁

I know cress, but not this kind (in German it is called Kapuzinerkresse), and I would eat it for sure 😉

Thank you and yeah, I thought that you would eat it.
I am not one for flowers in my food, but in the 60s I wore flowers in my hair 🤣

They serve food with flowers in over here in the restaurants, as a health eyeblind, but I politely search them all out and put them in a sideplate. Hopefully they will give them to some lucky rabbits 🤣

Cheers and thanks!

In the sixties I was a baby sleeping between the flowers in my mama's garden 🤣

I eat almost everything since I have eaten the sand cakes we made as little kids, and if I don't know something I would certainly try it ☺️

So that's why you still like to eat flowers my boy.
In 1974 I was married with one child. Maybe you were still at school 🤣

Yep, I also am very adventurous with my eating habits, but have some abstinations, such as raw fish (our waters are polluted), grass, as it is for sheep and flowers, as apart from pesticides, I rather leave them for the animals 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Correct, in 1974 I was still at school - I was 9 😁

Raw fish is nothing for me either, but every now and then I try Sushi.
Grass is for the sheep and goats, but I also don't eat it 🤣

Part of the joy while photographing something is to know what it is.
Mind you, there are so many useful tools to identify insects, plants, birds.

The flower looks like nasturtium to me.

Happy belated Valentine's day my friend. ☺
Do you know that 14th of February in my country is a holiday of the wine and vine growers? So, here is a glass of !WINE - cheers!

Thank you and it is indeed always so nice to know what one is taking photos of.
I kow their names, but decided to give the community a chance at identifying them, as I see that there are still dragonfly posts with no identification.

Yes, it is indeed a nasturtium here in our garden. Did you know that nasturtiums originated in the Andes mountains in South America?

I will also give you some wine for Valentines day and for your wine and vine growers day.

Blessings and !WINE

Actually I didn't know about the origin of the nasturtium. That is something new I learned today.
I have this lovely flower for several years on the balcony. It grows like mad.

Glad to have told you about it's origin Lady Neli.

It is a very good plant to use for sore throats and you should Google the Nasturtium health benefits.
Also great in salads.

I knew it is edible, but never tried myself. Would be nice to learn more about it and its benefits.

Agreed and they even have recipes on google that includes Nasturtiums.
Hope that you will like it.

Another dragonfly post! Lovely! 😍

Thank you kindly my friend.
