Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 161

in Amazing Naturelast year

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 161st round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round. If you want to create a separate post as your entry, you can do that but please always remember to submit your entry in the form of a comment here in this post as well. I only check the entries submitted here as comments.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. I also give some smaller upvotes on the other entries too so that all participants get rewarded for their engagement.

I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

I have spent a lot of time outdoor in the past couple of days and taken many shots at different natural places including Divoka Sarka, an amazing nature reserve where I was earlier today but for some reasons, most of the pictures didn´t turn out well. For two main reasons actually. Cloudy skies and lack of greenery in nature. Both should improve very soon though since spring is already in full swing here so hopefully, I will not have troubles capturing some nice fresh natural photos for this challenge anymore. Out of the shots that I took during the past week, the one featured above is probably the best. Just a little meadow and some trees found under the Hemr´s Rocks here in Prague, Czech Republic. I took that picture two days ago.

In the last round, we had 9 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

@jlinaresp with this entry from Venezuela:

Hello! Here my entry to Round 160! Title: "Dawn on the road". A view from the ascent road towards the mountains of the Venezuelan central cordillera. Captured on March 18, 2023 (dry season) near Montalbán, Carabobo State, Venezuela. NIKON D7000 | 35 mm | 1/1000s | F/5 | ISO 200

@deepresearch with this entry from Spain:

So this is my last week on Tenerife, Spain. This forested valley picture was taken 5 days ago, while I was coming back from El Teide hike. I like how you can see Gran Canaria on the horizon.

@onlavu with this entry from the Czech Republic:

The day before yesterday, I took this one on the Red Mountain (1333 m) in the Jeseniky Mountains (Czechia). The highest peak of these mountains, Praded, is in the background. There's still some snow coverage, roughly half a meter.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

I post this series in the Amazing Nature community, a great community for all nature lovers. Feel free to check it out ;)

Congratulations to the friends who were selected in the previous round

And this is my entry for this round, this photo I took last weekend when I along with my friends visited one lake in my area, this lake is called Lake Lut Tawar and is one of the largest lakes in Aceh (Indonesia)

Picsart_23-03-21_18-23-19-872.jpg

Stunning capture, thank you very much for joining this round with such a cool entry :)

Thank you very much for your feedback 😊

This photo was taken some hours ago at Keukenhof, Lisse in North Holland. I will blog about my time there but not include this photo. I spent hours walking around this famous location but what I loved about this photo is the majestic trees and young tulip plants which are waiting patiently to spring forth with all its colours. The contrast in the photo reminded me of the beauty of nature and the 4 seasons. Although this is a well kept garden, it was lovely being outside in nature.

Hey there! Good to see you here with this cool entry :) The place that you showed us is already beautiful as it is now but I can imagine how amazing it looks with all the tulips blooming and the trees covered with fresh green leaves :) I hope you will take us there again later so that we get to see it at its finest and most colorful :)

I am sorry that I missed this comment @phortun - thanks for the complimnent. Yes indeed I will take you back there when it is indeed at its finest!!

Lovely shot!!!!

This is my entry of this week

It's one of the favorite scenes in Son La province - Vietnam, called " 🦖Dinosaur backbone". I visited it on Mar 20th and took this picture.

Impressive scenery! Thanks for your entry :)

Thanks for your support!

Good day @phortun 🌸

My entry : round 161

Your photo is great, such a lovely place to walk.🤗
Here is my photo I took on Sunday...
A short walk away. I was passing by a wire fence on which a blossoming fruit tree was leaning... I think it's some kind of plum...
Greetings from sunny Banat, Serbia... ☀️

At least it was then, today it's cloudy, cold, windy... then the sun appeared a little... And so the whole day...

IMG_20230326_180214.jpg

Beautiful shots, I can literally smell the blooms :) Thank you!

Thanks a lot @phortun 🤗

My pleasure 🥰🌸

Well, I remembered - again. Although also again a bit late, but still...

A little orb-weaver spider weaving its web over the Durres River south of Durres.
Was walking along the coast southwards last week Wednesday to find something else than sandy beaches when I saw it. Was a bit hard to photograph, because of the light, its size & quick movement.

Thanks for remembering my challenge, always a pleasure to see your interesting wildlife close ups here :)

The first signs of spring in Szczytnicki Park, Wroclaw. The famous Japanese garden is not open to public until April, the rest of the park is, though. This particular place is also inspired by Japanese culture. Yet I focused on detail rather. Hope you'd like it.

Až se ty okolní stromy zazelenají, tak to bude moc pěkné místo. Díky, že sis opět vzpomněl. Jen pro pořádek, není ten snímek starší než týden, že?

Sobota 18.3. ;)

Congratulations to the winners on this occasion.
so here I am back with you all to take part in this interesting contest about nature and this time I will show you everything about mountains and lakes.

I took this picture on March 19, 2023, which coincided with last Sunday, this place is in Indonesia,
Namely Central Aceh Takengon, this place is also known as a cold place and is usually also nicknamed the City of a Thousand Hills.
Friends, all of you can see this place on Google Map and click here

Wow, what a change :) Good to see a landscape shot from you too, thank you!

Yeah, when I have time to get pictures of nature like this, I definitely remember your contest.
A few days ago I had a chance to do a camping event with friends, including #hive friends as well.
So I captured lots of pictures of natural landscapes like this.
Of course I can only show one sheet in your contest, maybe for the next contest when the picture I took has been more than a week.

Aww, thank you for such a nice feedback and for keeping this contest in your mind when outside in nature :)

Do you mean something like this that I took today? We have power cuts every day and during them, I go out into nature, as it is the best place to be. So many complain about the power cuts, but I see it as a great opportunity for me to go and destress in nature. This was taken in the Westen Cape Province of South Africa. A scene to show where the mountain range and the foothills meet.

Thanks for this interesting entry, it´s been a while since we had an contribution from South Africa here :) Btw I love the way you handle the power cuts, I would do the same ;)

Thank you and I am glad that South Africa has returned to bless your efforts.
Yep! Only way to deal with the power cuts during daytime and I am sure that you will do the same.
I mention it often in my posts in the hope that others will start to do the same, instead of sitting around moaning !LOLZ

Wow, those are some beautiful shots! I am going to have to see what I can come up with. I have quite a number of photos sitting around on my desktop. Let me start with this one and if I did it wrong just let me know...

IMG20220618123023.jpg

This was taken near the summit of Brockway Mountain between Copper Harbor and Eagle Harbor Michigan. Much of the rock in this area is pre-volcanic and over 20,000 years old if I remember correctly. The whole area was known for it's vast copper deposits back in the day. Miners would come from Wales and many other areas in Europe to work. The road leading up Brockway mountain is a seasonal road that they don't plow in the winter. All up and down the mountain are various mountain bike trails. Heading up you often pass pickup trucks with bikes stacked in the back and riders waiting to make their run down the mountain.

That´s an amazing shot and it would be a great entry but I´m afraid the picture is older than 7 days :) This challenge is about sharing fresh natural photos, that´s what makes it different from other contests here on Hive. Do you have anything more recent? A shot taken during the past week?

Ah, okay, that is cool. No, not anything that has to do with nature. It's winter in Michigan. Not much to get outside to right now. Just a whole lot of white.

Yeah, I thought so... Keeping this challenge alive during the winter is so difficult sometimes. I mean I always open the new round with my own picture to lead by example and it´s easy if we are based in the tropics or subtropics but we have been actually here in Central Europe for the past 3 winters and getting decent natural shots for this challenge was hard sometimes! So take it easy and join us later on, whenever you want ;) Greetings to Michigan!

Thanks! I will get there. I have some pictures of my dog sleeping in the chair, but she is far from a wild animal, so I don't think that counts as nature. I will be getting some within the next year. I started following you in my feed, so I should be able to keep track of what's going on. Thanks!

Well, it´s possible to take decent natural photos even in winter, my Czech buddy @onlavu, for example, has been sharing some truly amazing pictures from the mountains with us but it also greatly depends on the weather. Like I said, you are welcome here anytime :) And thanks for the follow, I will be checking out your blog too ;)

Yeah, it's hard to get to the pretty areas when the weather is like this. Around here is mostly just farm fields! :) Thanks!

That is very important, what you affirm dear @phortun for example yesterday I made a publication in a sports community, doing yoga, in front of our beautiful Gulf of Cariaco, in the city of Cumaná state Sucre-Venezuela where the Sea and nature around accompanied me. I express the above. to highlight that in our country there are favorable environments to take very recent photographs, highlighting our nature. Your initiative, to make a publication as you say, is very interesting. I wish you many successes.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I´m glad that you have been enjoying the healing effects of being in nature :) Btw it seems that you accidentally posted the same comment many times, can you please delete the duplicates?

Ok brother @phortun , it's just that the speack platform hasn't been very good and when you don't think you've published or redponded, it doubles. Thanks to keep an eye out. Successes

Great picks for the winners - all arew lovely. Your photo is also very nice. The last time I visited Prague, it was nice to venture outside of the city center to discover lovely green areas - like your photo.

Aww, thank you :) But in fact, the "green time of the year" is still yet to come here in Prague, the trees are still naked but that will change soon ;) Cannot wait...

I can imagine. Me too - waiting patiently.😀

These are really great photos my friend! I love them all. The sad thing is that I've only taken 1 nature photo in the last week and it's blurry haha.

Sorry about that but maybe you can go out again and give it another shot? :) Just kidding, join us whenever you want, you will always be welcome here ;)
