Hey there fellow cinephiles and welcome to my blog. It's been a week since I posted here but it feels like forever. The thing is that I I've been kind of sick and less productive in the past days. I've also been taking up a lot more responsibilities than usual. My life has just gotten a lot more busier and stressful and it would take time to adapt to the changes but I will keep trying my best to stay active in the community and engage with all you wonderful content creators😁. As I get better at handling everything going on in my life right now, I'll be much more active in the community.

I have been reviewing my previous posts and have decided to experiment with some changes. One is the side-by-side translations of the post. Another is that I will include the info of the actors and characters in the general body of the post so that my posts aren't too lengthy and daunting to read. You will also notice a couple more changes as I hope to find the perfect style for me.

That said, let's get into the business of the day people! Today I want to talk about a movie that I have heard of for quite a while and finally decided to watch. This movie is none other than the weirdly named movie, Everything Everywhere All at Once. Would you like to know a little bit more about this movie and my opinions on it? The keep reading.

Hola compañeros cinéfilos y bienvenidos a mi blog.

He estado revisando mis publicaciones anteriores y he decidido experimentar con algunos cambios.

About The Movie/Sobre la película

Everything Everywhere All At Once (let's shorten it to EEAAO) is a movie that has quite a lot in its context. Starting the movie we meet the Wang family with Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn Wang, Ke Huy Quan as her husband Waymond Wang, Stephanie Hsu as their daughter Joy Wang and James Hong as Evelyn's father Gong Gong. This family owns a Laundromat business that is struggling and at the brink of collapse. With so much stress on them, Evelyn and Waymond's marriage suffers with the couple considering a divorce. Along with the problem is the couple's fractured relationship with their daughter mainly because Evelyn doesn't want her father, who already thinks she is a failure, to know that Joy is gay. This average family which has compounding but really average problems is clearly falling apart but they have no idea what huge surprise the near future has in store for them.

This movie is divided into three parts named from the title; Everything, Everywhere and All at Once. To make a little bit of sense to this story, I will talk about the parts separately.

Part 1: Everything

Evelyn, who thinks she has seen it all with her tax problems, gets the shock of her life when she suddenly discovers the existence of other universes. Not just that but she has to be the one to save the multiverse by defeating a "great evil". To do this, she needs to learn how to jump between universes to acquire skills from other versions of herself. In just a matter of hours, this average mom, wife and daughter faces many foes in order to save her family and every universe out there.

Part 2: Everywhere

In this second part, Evelyn has pushed herself to the limit during the verse jumping and now she experiences every universe at the same time. We see different universes like one where she is a singer, one where she is a chef, one where she is a pinata, one where humans are drawings, one where humans have hotdogs for fingers and a lot more. Evelyn has to learn to focus her thoughts in every universe at the same time so she can settle every conflict and ultimately defeat the great evil.

Part 3: All At Once

All the conflicts are settled and the family is back together. Evelyn and Waymond are a happy couple again, the family accepts that Joy is gay and welcome her girlfriend into the family, and their tax situation improves. Everything just gets better.

Parte 1: Todo

There are many things we really don't know. The continuous discovery of new things everyday makes you realize that we really don't know a lot about our world. The realization that our planet is just one little piece of rock floating among countless other rocks has made scientists wonder if there are other lifeforms out there. Others have pondered through the mystery of space and time coming up with several conspiracies and theories about life and existence. One of this seemingly absurd theories is the existence of other universes that make up the Multiverse.

As a sci-fi fan, I love the idea of the multiverse. What if there are other universes similar to ours but completely independent? What if you aren't the only you out there? A lot of people debunk the idea of the multiverse because of the lack of actual proof but no proof doesn't always mean something isn't there. It may mean we just need to look harder. I don't know if the multiverse really exists but the idea of it is really interesting.

Many authors have written about the Multiverse in different ways. I have seen a couple of movies that explore the multiverse concept in different ways, some better than others. The way this concept is explored in EEAAO is really not bad. The movie explains that every decision you make creates a different universe. So basically when you ask yourself "What if I had done that instead of this?", you should understand that another version of you had done "that" and is facing the consequences. Crazy right? Well it gets crazier with this movie.

EEAAO really deserves its name because throughout the movie a bunch of things just happen very quickly at the same time. The plot is unique and also ridiculous sometimes. This is a type of movie that would constantly have you asking, "What the fuck?!" Many people have said that the movie is confusing but I realized that you have to pay extra attention to really understand it.

With this movie every detail and character matters. I can tell because I watched it twice and realized how everything is connected to everything. Even if you so much as blink you might just miss something important. With so much in the plot, I have to commend the crew for how it was handled. The way every small detail connects to one another to tell a story is impressive to say the least.

If you are a deep thinker like me, this movie may have you thinking a lot. In this movie we see different versions of Evelyn that were formed by decisions different from hers. After seeing and living as better versions of herself, Evelyn initially wishes she had done things differently in the past. This had me thinking of a couple of moments in my life when I would have made a different decision. Would my life have been better, luxurious and just all I want? What if I bought Bitcoin years earlier when I heard about it? Would I have been happier? Is another version of myself enjoying this life? Who knows?

In the end, despite all the luxury and good fortune she had experienced, Evelyn chose her life with her family and the laundromat. I realized that there really is no need getting trapped in the "What if" questions. Even if my life could have been better if I had made certain decisions, I may not have had some of the experiences that I cherish today.

Something that really impressed me about this movie was how different each scene and universe was. The aspect ratio and color was constantly changing to match the scene. For action scenes, the aspect ratio became slimmer. For the holiday-movie-looking universe, the screen was wider and the prevalent color was bright red. For the universe that looked like a kungfu movie, the screen was also wide but there was this dark green color to it. Other scenes and universes had aspect ratios and colors unique to them with none overlapping with the other. This element really makes you feel like you're actually experiencing different universes and situations alongside the characters. This was a smart move by the producers.

EEAAO is not listed as a movie of the Comedy genre but there are a lot of little jokes and actions that would just crack you up. Similarly, there are also some things that were supposed to be funny but just weren't. I think this weak comedy is the only thing I did not like about this movie.

Brain teaser movie? Count me in!

I read a review on this movie last week or so and it piqued my interest. I'm taking your post as a sign to go see the movie.

I fell in love with Michelle Yeoh when I saw gunpowder milkshake and I don't doubt she'll do an equally great job in this movie.

Man I didn't finish that Gunpowder Milkshake. I honestly didn't really like it cause of the awfully choreographed fight scenes😅. But I like Michelle's performance in Crazy Rich Asians and Shang-Chi.

Go ahead and check out this EEAAO, let's see if you can handle all the stuff in it ;)

I didn't think they were awfully choreographed😭
, you just broke my fragile heart💔

Oh oh, was wondering where else I'd seen her.
I'll definitely check it out, not sure when I will though but I will🙂

Sorry for breaking you heart😅. Here, have a new one❤️🙂

No matter how long it takes, just see this movie and thank me later👀

Thank you 😁😂
I will🙃😉

After having read it completely, it seems a bit confusing, but also interesting, the multiverse called my attention, also those nuances of thinking about the past and that everything has a great connection.

I might take the time to watch it, I like movies that leave something in our minds, I think that has a lot of value, although I would have to watch it twice as you did, to understand it a little more and have everything clearer.

Greetings.

The concept of the multiverse was also what made me see this movie. It's really interesting but it can get overwhelming sometimes. If you see this movie there will be times when you will just wonder what is going on. I had to pause a few times and rewind to get some details.

If you have to then see this movie twice. I see almost every movie two times before writing a review but this one was on another level for me. It had a lot in it that ultimately tells the story. No wonder many people did not like it.

All in all, the movie is entertaining, sad and funny at the same time. You really should give it a watch.

Than you for your comment on my post :)

I really liked this movie, it's completely crazy, it has absurd things in it, but it's a lot of fun. I like this movie more than any of the Marvel movies. This one really has a crazy mutiverse.

Yeah this movie has a lot of absurd and weird things that would have made it awful if it wasn’t handled by the right people. Thankfully it was and so the movie was nothing short of awesome. I’m going to have to disagree with you on one thing though, I like some multiverse movies by Marvel better😅

Thanks for reading and dropping your comment on my post!

This movie was very interesting to watch. While watching this movie, I love how I got to question what was happening and still have a good laugh. Honestly I almost gave up on it but there's something about this movie that made me to just sit down and finish it, and I'm glad I did. This movie also has the most unique portray of the multiverse I've ever seen and it was amazing to watch.

I love the review and hope to read more from you.

I also almost gave up on the movie but the guys that made it knew just how to keep us hooked. In the end, it was well worth it even though I had to see the movie twice to really understand it. I really think their presentation of the multiverse was cool.

I love the review and hope to read more from you.

Thanks man and expect more!
