Binance is NOT giving me back my 350 HBD

in LeoFinance2 years ago

I have accidentally sent 350.022 HBD to Binance. I was supposed to send HIVE but in a hurry I forgot to convert. Binance, up to this day still does not support HBD.

I have opened a ticket hoping they could simply send it back to me. The HIVE blockchain is free, so it would cost nothing to return it to the sender.

But they have rejected it. They are denying to give me back my funds. It is not as if I had sent an unknown ERC20 token! Hive has two native tokens, HIVE and HBD, both can be sent for free, there is no reason why not to return it when it was sent by mistake!

This is bad, Binance! This is very bad! It could have been solved easily but they decided to take ownership of the funds I have accidentaly sent them.

I am contacting their support again and will keep pushing to get my money back, but I gotta say, this ruined my week...

Oh no, that is terrible. I have read a little about binance before and decided not to use it due to people complaining about losing funds. My regular exchange had changes made and I waited for months for them to be usable again. I'm so sorry this happened. Did you make a post on Twitter? Maybe we can share it around and make it viral so it gets noticed faster and something will be done soon. It is a significant amount and I really hope you recover your funds.

I didn't post anywhere else, only here on Hive. I will keep pressing, I have no choice, they need to refund

Try twitter, tag them

Which means I'll just stick to Hive! Now we can't trust any of these holdings. That's awful!

Probably any other exchange would have been done the same. Amongst other things, this is why I check multiple times to send the correct cryptocurrency to the correct address, including using the correct memo, if needed. Funds can be easily lost/stolen, if you send different cryptocurrency to an address. And one little typo too (even a single character in the memo) can result in the loss of funds.

Christ! This is scary

sucks! problem is that the person in the other side probably doesn't know how easy it is to fix, and just sends a pre formatted answer. I would insist until finding a good soul that wants to help solve the problem.

Then when j start using this platform, I don't even know how to transfer and all that so I decided to transfer, and I transfer HBD. Instead of hive, but thank God is just 1HBD

Why would you want to pay 500 BUSD to recover less than 500 BUSD of tokens?

I wouldn't pay even if it was 5 BUSD to recover because it my right and if they were operating legally they are liable to recover anything that is not theirs, and if they were operating illegally it wouldn't be worth the risk. Plus they said they wouldn't recover even if I paid because they "don't support HBD"

I disagree. They need to get payment for their work hours. It was your mistake after all. Implementing and testing a new feature takes time. HBD is not another Ethereum token.

It is literally in the law, my friend, it is entirely their responsibility to return funds that were not meant to be theirs, you can't charge users to obey the law. As a centralized exchange they need to either obey the law or disobey.

Plus, they do get paid in trading fees already. Do you think they don't have the money? It is Binance, morally they don't need to charge for something like that, legally they can't.

Regardless, they refuse to refund it even if I paid. Also I have inquired about their representative in Brazil, and while they claim they are operating legally in this country, they refuse to give legal contacts, which to me means they are possibly lying when they say they are operating legally.

Thanks for sharing this because I might have done the same. Because of things like this I have a simple rule, always check or test it with small amounts of crypto before sending huge amounts. I still do it on every transactions.

The tech support probably followed the protocol and decided to end it there. Maybe if they ever list HBD in there you might get it back then.

350 HBD is a huge ammount for me.If Binance doesn't support HBD, the transfer should not be taken place. The ammount should be returned immediately. If they do not operate HBD, what will they do with it? Lol..

Someone said that he always check carefully before performing a transaction ;bro everybody does it. You should give him advise how he can get it back if there any way.😃

This reminds me of when I lost 100$ on gate.io. I just gave up cause I didn't know this much then. They we just turning me up and down.

I hope you get your money back bro.

I'm sorry to hear that. I also have the same experience sending hbd to binance and didn't been refund until now. I have talk to their live support but there was nothing they can't do because they also don't have access to the system.

That's awful! Binance always gives me headache. Have you managed to find a way around it? I see it's 6days you made the post.

Sorry about this 350 HBD is a lot of money. I hope they refund you.

It is legally considered theft in the legislation of my country, I told their support that and they said they are an international company so I guess they don't really worry about legallity

I will keep pushing their support, it is that or accepting the loss. Sadly I can't, yet, take legal action because they refuse to provide any contact other than literally the live chat, no registry, no address, nothing...

Binance is legally registered in our country, Igor, and thus you can sue them regularly.

CNPJ: 37.512.394/0001-77
Name: B Fintech Servicos de Tecnologia LTDA

There's also "Binance (Services) Holdings Limited", CNPJ 45.165.233/0001-82

I would just sue both companies through the Small Claims Court. You don't even need a lawyer and it's free.

😂😂😂. I love this comment

That's not good

This is probably one of the stumbling blocks for crypto acceptance. How can such money disappear..

And the so called crypto organisations pull off something like this... They just hamper our growth as a community...🤦

Wow . That's a lot of hive .. how did you eventually cope.. don't tell me you left that much with them.. wow
