Side-earnings, Passive-earnings and Advertisings

in LeoFinance14 days ago (edited)

I was quickly browsing an article that caught my eye, as it pertains to earning from the gig-economy and side-hustles, something that I think is going to explode in the coming years through the inclusion of blockchain tokenization and payment application. It was looking at Fiverr and Airtasker and mentioning how 4 is a great time for people to get involved with a whole lot of seasonal work requests hitting the sites. Many of these are all year round tasks, but having practical skills and a will to work can earn significant amounts.

Some Taskers earned more than $10,000 a month this time last year.
Tim Fung -Tasker Founder

That is quite a lot isn't it?

Well... that depends.

How many people earn that on Splinterlands per month at "this time of year?"

I have no idea, but as someone who is a relatively large, but also relatively small investor compared to those above me, let's have a quick look.

I rent my cards and while end of Season is inflated prices, the average is probably 4000 DEC a day, which is about 56 dollars. I am also taking part in the SPS airdrop which is based on my holdings and get around about 220 SPS a day, which is worth approximately 190 dollars. I am not playing, so I earn no other DEC.

Card rentals: 56
SPS Airdrop: 190

246 dollars a day or, 7,380 dollars a month.

Hmmm. And other than adjusting some rentals and of course the risk of holding the assets themselves, I don't have to do much work at all. I don't come anywhere near a richlist and I am so far down that I probably wouldn't make it into the top 1000 holders.

Yes, this is season income and it is going to fluctuate wildly over time, but I believe (since I believe in a crypto future) that investing into crypto now and looking to earn rewards on owned assets is going to be a massive income stream for many people and once they understand the potential, they will flock. After all, based on my own investments into Splinterlands, four months or so ago, at this rate I could cover my capital expenditure in about five weeks without selling anything from my original purchase, just earnings on them. Not only this, the assets I do own already, have the potential to increase as the popularity of the game and the expanding goods and services ecosystem around it, grow.

This is NEWSWORTHY!

Why is it that the mainstream media isn't writing about this when it comes to their "practical finance" and especially their crypto sections? Probably, because they don't know about it.

So, just a moment ago, I submitted a suggestion for an article to the Australian News site I read (it is popular with normies) and where the above article comes from, and outlined a story for them.

I wanted to give them more than the game angle, but it is a brilliant place to start, considering the success and current conditions of the game itself. so, after the intro in, I opened with:

There are often articles about cryptocurrency price movements, but I am yet to see anything about all of the ways to earn on crypto projects that do not require trading. For example, the large and rapidly growing blockchain gaming industry, or the blogging platforms.

Past this, I mentioned with more depth:

  • Splinterlands as the most popular crypto game in the world
  • Hive as the blockchain infrastructure
  • Hive as the platform for content (using https://hive.blog/, https://3speak.tv/ and https://leofinance.io/ as examples)
  • Hive blockchain energy efficiency, speed and free transactions
  • The growing interest in crypto and blockchain in general
  • The growing focus on side earnings to supplement incomes and combat inflation
  • The possibility for normal people to participate and earn with low to no risk or cost
  • And how it should be interesting to their readers on many levels

I don't know if it will get any traction, but if these suggestions are made globally at the local level and a few articles are written even mentioning some of these points, it should drive at least the curious to check things out and who knows where it leads to from there.

Let's see :)

Sort:

Rental = 10,000 DEC/day = $100/day (average)

SPS = $8000/day

Personal game play = 15,000 DEC/day = $150/day

Delegated deck game play = 20,000 DEC/day =$200/day

Tournaments averages $150/day

Total $8600/day about $258K per month

This is precisely what I mean - I am a tiny fish and the article is looking at the top earners on Airtasker earning 10K a month (seasonally) - I am almost at that (seasonally) and there are thousands above me. Why no stories? I think they really just don't know. A few press releases to outlets might help :)

There are issues with this, right? Since this is substantial earning most people are nervous to talk about it in public. There are consequences that people fear. It is almost similar to winning a jackpot, you don't want to disclose your winning.

What we can do is 2-fold. First, Make the taxation on crypto transparent. Second, Have a more friendly environment to make the gaming aspect of it mainstream.

Most countries have no idea what to do with all of the forms of crypto earning in regard to tax, so accountants don't even know what to do with it.

Well, In the US as well. But a lot of people stopped using accountants for doing taxes. For exaple, I use an online tool called TurboTax, which is perfectly file and have all the tools to enter crypto related gains.

So it is not really necessary to involve humans in doing bots job. Also my taxes are quite a bit complex than most average people.

You're not playing, but wanted to earn from the game, and now you're currently doing so, it shows that even non-gamers with the right investment can benefit off splinterlands. The chain makes people spoilt for opportunities and for actually just investing, chilling and making your profits. The main stream media obviously won't want to talk about it.

I was still hoping to get a rematch.

I wonder if hive is my main crypto earning. I was getting Hive long before SPS but damn... SPS became huge. Now it is hard to tell what is a Side-earning. I hope that SPS will continue to grow next year as well. Now if only DEC could reach 1 dollar price...One can hope, right😜

I was still hoping to get a rematch.

I play the first half of the season :)

Yeah, SPS is a boon at the moment, but don't rely on the price being stable:

Now if only DEC could reach 1 dollar price...One can hope, right😜

I don't think it can, unless people really are insane. The higher prices cause more printing I think.

This is really good @tarakp. It would be fantastic if they took you up on the article! Please do share it with us if they do :-) When I mention Hive to friends, teachers, work colleagues, they look at me as if I'm speaking a foreign language. It would be great to get words like Hive, blockchain and cryptocurrency being more mainstream and better understood.

I will definitely let people know if they create the article and yes, just imagine how much easier it would be to talk about, if people saw a couple articles on it.

There is definitely a fundamental lack of real knowledge in the general media. Those individuals who do know a little, unfortunately, suffer from that old adage that a little knowledge is dangerous... they just don't get it and they literally just see it as "too complicated", "too risky", "too technical", "not real money", "scam". They have bought into media negativity and SEC responses and have failed to adhere to the "DYOR" approach. I feel that those in regulatory positions either don't have a clue what they are doing when they are looking to heavily regulate, or they know exactly what they are doing in trying to control and tame the beast lol.

I make very little compared to you and probably 85% of the other game players. I do like the SPS that comes free, and the DEC from doing the daily quest. If I re-invested it I know I would get more back out, but I do get a bit from using my free SPS to buy Hive-Engine tokens and I do still stake some of the free SPS in game to slowly build that amount.

It is pretty amazing the amount of earnings people can make from not even playing the game.

Yes it is. Also, a lot of the large accounts have only been playing and reinvesting, which is incredible too.

profound and leaves much to be desired, When it comes to main stream media ...But the are quick to catch a FUD

They love the ups and downs of the market, but anything that actually helps their readers, seems to be lacking :)

To be fair, Airtasker would have paid for that article as part of their SEO strategy.

See the links?

If only we had a DAO on Hive that could be used to fund actual long-term, content marketing strategies like this that worked...

Yes, I know :) and I am glad you brought it up as I think you are the only one who has. Pretty much everything on that news site is some form of paid advert, or they have finger in the pie somewhere -it is a Rupert Murdoch company after all.

If only... :)

On a blockchain like Hive almost any productive task becomes "freelancing" to some extent... if you do it right its hard not to make money at some point, just by participating. I feel like anybody who is interested in passive income and freelance work needs to be using crypto by now, its just too big of an opportunity to ignore

Proof of brain at work.

I agree. It is crazy that so few are actually looking at the possibilities of it - as they are blinded by the markets and the FUD.

That is really crazy to see when you break it down like that. I have just been staking all of my stuff back, so I am not seeing those kinds of numbers. I'd have to guess I am about half the size of you. So awesome though. This really is a great season to be involved in crypto!

your SL account (at least if it is Bozz) and my SL account are about the same size :)

Yeah, I only pull in about 2k DEC per day and 100 SPS per day. Are you holding a bunch of land? I am only holding 1 and then I have 5 plots in a pool that they haven't paid out yet.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I bought a couple plots for the first time the other day. I am pooling DEC with HIVE on TribalDex to get more SPS and I ma not playing, so everything is rented. I adjust it a couple times a day, depending on what I have going on in life.

Ah, okay, I kept just enough cards to keep me at Gold II in the seasons and I am not doing any of the pooling. I was doing some over on Cub, but I pulled most of that out due to the volatility in prices. Long before the whole SPS thing dropped.

i know it's good source of earning crptocurrency ,many of friends suggested me to play but i don't have much time to play game. For a minute your attractive article changed my mind to let's try this game 😛😛 anyways thanks for sharing n inspiring many for source of earn.

keep hiving

I don't have time to play really either - I am new to it all :)

I'm not playing either. I was botting several accounts but when I saw how the rental market was taking off, I stopped the bots and now I'm renting most of my collection. I don't make anywhere near what you do but it's still a cozy amount for doing… nothing.

!PIZZA and !BEER

@brandt, sorry! You need more to stake more $PIZZA to use this command.

The minimum requirement is 20.0 PIZZA staked.

More $PIZZA is available from Hive-Engine or Tribaldex

I haven't used any of the bots, but renting for EOS is insane currently. I suspect it will calm down after the full release of CL a bit.

This is an interesting one... Please remember to let me know when the earning start working. I will be able learn from you to know how to invest.

They are working.

Please can you be my trainer on it. It will encourage my stage on the platform

Totally agree with you. Now with Polychain as the next Splinterlands blockchain games, I am busy once more. And we can do it passive with staking SPS and renting. Super cool future.

Good, very informative post you have written. It depends a man's interest to do the job.

I am having 1k members on whats app family group ,spread the positive information about splinterland where simply they use their fingures on mobile to battle. No matter whether they win or loose but when they win then they earn little DEC . I told them the importance of playing this game where they utilise their time and convert it into earning. Hope One day Nobody play Candy Crush 🙂 like its most favourite game for all the elder and senior citizen.
Lets spread positive vibes for hive and splinterland.

That might not be pushing some narrative they're desperate for people to believe in though :D

That would be awesome if they took it seriously and checked out Hive! Yes some people make lots of money doing things but the incredible passive potential of Hive for things is remarkable! I think a lot of the reason it's not well known besides people just not knowing about it, is the financial powers are shitting their pants thinking of the money that regular people can make passively instead of it being exclusive to just them anymore.
