Happy Monday hivers, I hope your weekends finished strong and you're geared up and good to go for another working week! It's lunch time here and everything looks on track for a good week for me and considering it's a short one for me it's going to be even better!
Reward for effort
When I started the #weekend-engagement concept it was with engagement in mind...Not charity. It was designed for people to meet others, engage with them in a fun environment and to develop new relationships. Most of the regulars have done so and have continued to develop those relationships on each other's posts. Nice work champions.
This is not a free hive bank, it's an engagement initiative; Abuse of it won't go unnoticed.
My suggestion is to use the #weekend-engagement topic for its intended purpose, not to drop a single comment in the hope of a big up-vote or some free hive. It's also not a place to drop links to your posts either...That's not how it works - A fact that is very clear I think. Follow the very basic rules and you'll benefit. It's quite elementary really so...See the big picture.
I believe I've dealt with everyone with integrity and respect and whilst people can make their own choices, act in the way they see fit, it pains me that some don't seem to reciprocate; It will continue though, and those who value and embrace it will benefit.

Week 19 conclusion
I cannot overstate the importance of relationship building here on hive; A lone wolf existence is not ideal and probably won't take a user very far at all. Concepts like this, and others, are designed to give you places to interact with others, get involved with the community and build those all important relationships. Most of these concepts are provided at the goodwill of others who get no gain from them other than the benefit of supporting and growing the community; Support them and everyone wins.
If we all had that ethos, supported each other a little and got involved with community-based initiatives, each and every one of us will gain and hive will thrive. Human's are social beings, so get social, get active and support those around you and the greater community.
Get behind communities also, not just the ones you think will gain you a random whale vote...Posting into the appropriate community can help build your profile very quickly, you'll reach new audiences and find more relationships.

if you investigate friend, Venezuela is called that way although almost nobody has that breed anymore, it was in fashion many years ago.
There is funds involved, some will make the minimum effort. I still like the weekend engagement post, some I have more fun with some less fun with, some I miss completely, (I think have brain farts when that happens). It is all about fun, and I need to check two or three times to see the comments, I forgot my Sunday perusal today of the post, that happens, I get busy on Sundays. Still it is nice to wake up on Saturday morning have 11 notifications that were all comments to look through.
I really enjoyed the music weekend one, but am not looking forward for another so soon, maybe in another four months, well after Christmas, I like Christmas but I am not a super big fan of butchered Christmas songs. I mean one can only here the barking dogs christmass song so often, or David Bowie and Bing Crosby butchering Little Drummer Boy.
I'm ready for more short three or four paragraph scary side stories for Halloween. A short retelling of the headless horseman, or of the Great Pumpkin story from Charlie Brown, or what happened one day on my way to work when a black cat crossed my path.
Oh yeah, the music one was good...But Christmas music...Nah, I don't think so. I try to come up with topics that are a little different each time. I haven't done a drawing one lately, or a what is it - wrong answers only so maybe that'll be coming up soon. We'll see. This week's is a little different too...Just wrote it now. I'll be away shooting all weekend, with little phone coverage, so it'll be up to the community to drive it, get involved...Or not. Time will tell.
Good luck on the shooting weekend. I am sure that people will come out and comment on the weekend, this weekend being the hard fork weekend and things being kind of glitchy may have been a little bit of an issue for some.

There were definitely lots of great animals, many good stories and some previous looking pictures. Really cool one this week, congrats to the winners! I’ve been trying to hit the post sooner then I have been but the little man is killing me not falling asleep until 945-10 many nights lately! I’m lucky if these eyes stay up another 30 minutes past that lol. I had a glorious night at 830 recently, scheduled some posts and got to a bunch of comments. It’s nice though, I’ve gotten him into spending more quality time with me, we tell stories together, sings songs then hold hands until he falls asleep. I’ve definitely cherished these nights recently!
I wanted to tell you but didn’t find the right post to put it on but I’m not joking when we were doing story time, it was his turn. He said that it was him, mommy, daddy and his friend. I’ve been trying to get him to flesh out stories a bit more and try his imagination a bit so I asked him what was his friends name? No bullshit he says “G-Dog” I almost cracked up laughing! I don’t think any of his little kid shows use that name and he obviously knows some letters to use and dogs but it was too funny that he just threw that out there. This was about 3 days ago now but it was awesome lol. Sending good vibes all the way from down under is uncle g-dog! You came with us to Home Depot to buy some wood for construction and we got waylaid by a bunch of giant frogs. It was pretty epic!

I get that you can't always get to the #weekend-engagement topic post immediately, but when you do you hang around a little, comment on others and support it well for which I am grateful.
I have still got that in mind man, I haven't forgotten your picture...It comes down to hitting it at the right time...I've noticed a lack of enthusiasm lately, more basic and cursory comments, less effort and all...Clearly not what I have in mind with it. This is not everyone of course, but I have noticed there's not a lot of new people coming along over the last few weeks so will wait to see how it goes.
Yeah this week I made it a point to get to more of the comments and try to check them out, drop some thoughts in theirs when I could or had something to contribute to it. I haven't been commenting these last few weeks as much as I should, so that's going to be a work in progress to get back up to a higher level.

You comment a bit, I see a lot of them so you're doing fine. It's not always easy I know. This weekend for instance, I'll be competing in a shooting event all weekend so my commenting will be low, the #weekend-engagement topic will still post as per usual though, and I'll be relying on the old-dogs like you and @bigtom13 to hold the fort...I'll be dropping in a little later Sunday night to get some commenting done.
Faith is on the mend. Each day is a little better. The bruising is starting to change colour which is good, and thankfully I don't have to give her injections anymore. We're hopeful for a full recovery and an end to the root-issues that prompted the operation in the first place. Fingers are crossed.

Yeah, Hive makes me learn a couple things. I was like that kind of people waiting for people to come of nowhere just to comment on my content 😂😂😂 but eventually I learned that you can't reap what you don't sow
That's a nice way of putting it. Users need to give people a reason to come and comment on their posts, the best way to do that is to comment on their posts first. It's not rocket science really, and those that understand the need for engagement and relationships will do much better than those who do not. :)

Thank you @galenkp It was great reading the passion everyone was writing about their pets. I loved reading the stories of all of them, but that exotic bird from Venezuela was fantastic, made me laugh.
It was also nice to see the number of animals which were adopted by their owners, a fantastic sign that we are a society, still care for our fauna around us.
On the other hand, seeing the picture you've added today to the post makes me wanna visit New Zealand with my bicycle!!!
