Hi there hivers - It's time to hand out free hive to some who engaged on the week 22 #weekend-engagement topic...Yeah, that means it's Monday and the first day of my working week, but handing out some hive to a few weekend engagers makes me happy...Something has to! 😂

This week I asked about your hobbies and was pleased to see you guys open up with what your hobbies are and what you may like them to be if the opportunity arose. You can see my own response here if you're keen and the week 22 topic post is here if you'd like to see what people's replies were.
There was loads of interaction as usual however I'd like to see some new users get involved to be honest, it's a way for them to start to build their accounts, meet people and get involved. Maybe y'all can get active in inviting them? They get the chance to get some free hive and, of course, build relationships, you get the enjoyment and satisfaction of supporting hive and the community.

The #weekend-engagement topic is closing in on a consecutive 26 weeks or operation. That's six months y'all, and over that time thousands of comments have been added to the blockchain, many relationships have formed and it is my hope you guys and gals have had a great time. I'll be continuing the weekly topic of course, but I would really love for you guys to get a bit more active in promoting it to some of the newer people around the blockchain - It is going to be of benefit to them and the community as a whole, so give it some thought and help promote the concept if you would like. I'll be really grateful.

Good judgement calls - and some great engagement. I do like that the idea that your choice of the word "hobby" has made me think. It's definitely a cultural thing!! LOL. I have started interviewing people about the word hobby and if they have any... the results may well become a post at this rate!!

Thanks for the honour. I am really glad that I am engaging with fellow Hive friends. As you said, it would be really nice if new users join communities and engage. We need new users. I'm not on Twitter, or Facebook for that matter and am not sure how valuable marketing hive will be through that media...I guess if it's done strategically and in a polished manner then it may gain some traction although I'm yet to see, or hear about, it being done that way. Publicity is good though, provided it sends the right message.
I hope you will come back and join in again here when you have the time and volition.

I always tweet Hive articles as I firmly believe that quality articles should be shared with larger audience out there. Some may join Hive on that merit and some may enjoy the article itself. I wish there was a team that would significantly look into meaningful marketing of Hive as a platform to larger twitter audience.
I agree with you, hive needs a professional marketing team to take control of promotional activities...Doing it in an amateur way will bring amateurish results, or negative ones.

P.s. In my country calling another man dear , especially a complete stranger, is not an acceptable form of address. I'm not sure what the protocol in your country is, however you may like to refrain from doing it as it may offend some users.
It would be nice to see some invites, the weekend post are a great place for new users to meet some steady consistent users, some real people not automated bot welcome to hive messages, but real people.
I invited a new user over, they came they commented they got comments back, they met some people to engage with.
Yeah, as you point out it's not rocket science; Come along and engage and you will be engaged with...And your account will grow. Seems pretty straightforward to me. Thanks for inviting that user, I saw some good engagement from him and I hope it inspires him to stick around, and to engage in general around the blockchain.

It was nice a topic, I'm coming back more often checking comments! this week i was a bit busy but still tried to come back to make a few comments and engage a bit. Now I'm like always waiting for #weekend-engagement lol it's becoming one of my favorite things around here
