RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 24: Passions [Get paid for yours]

Passions can be changeable throughout life. It depends on what stage you are in... But some passions are for life.

  1. What I've been doing most of my life is playing the piano. It’s longer even of the number of years I’ve known my husband, and that’s not a small amount. The piano came into my life when I started going to music school and from the first piano lesson, I knew what I wanted to dedicate my life to. Although this is also my job (hm, now debatable due to the lack of concerts because of the new normal) this is my passion number one.

  1. Family. My whole family, but especially my small family of 3, that consists of my son, husband and me. My son is now in the age that a single photo is a challenge to take of him.. so no photo

  2. Number three is difficult.. it could be travel, plants in my balcony, puzzle, swimming, hiking, reading, learning languages...all the things I like to do, but as I said in the beginning, the passions can change...and at this moment, maybe Hive, or crypto, in general, can take this place. Not that I am an expert, haha, I have a looooong way to learn, but this is something new to me that occupies my attention.

Of course passions can change, I guess I was more talking about what your passions are now, in this moment, not other times of your life but today, Friday.

Maybe number three for you could have been life itself? I mean, if we're not passionate about life I think we don't have much hope at all. Just my opinion.

Anyway, thanks for responding.

Oh, the number three you suggest to me now is the point! It would be nasty now to change my answer lol but you got it perfectly!

It's ok, I can tell by your posts that you're passionate about life, I just think that if we are indistinct about our passions then we need to wake up and try harder, you know? This one single life is all we have...best to be passionate about everything: Waking up each morning, sunsets, tasty food, our health, the pursuit of knowledge and understanding...Literally everything should be a passion, or done passionately. Just my humble opinion.

I agree. And exactly this morning I woke up with my migraine from yesterday, I took 4 antimigraine pills, (just 2 allowed) didn't feel any better. My husband put a video of a guy who said if you don't walk through the dark you can not appreciate the light... And now, after 2 hours I am lot better, not perfect but that is the thing, we have this one life so get up from pitty party and make a passion of every moment

Migraines are not pleasant, but just one of those things we have to go through from time to time. I'm glad yours cleared.

Showing passion in life should be a passion. Too many humans meander through their life, let's call it existence, without feeling, or showing, passion. I'm not one of those...I'm a very passionate person and show it in many aspects of my life. It's one of the reasons I've been so successful in my business life, in sports, hobbies and certainly in my relationship with Faith and others around me. I love being passionate and do most things with it as the underlying motivator.

I will die one day, like everyone one else, but I'll check out knowing I lived passionately.

I think if I could wish one thing for everyone it would be that they have passion.

This is how everyone should think and feel! Certainly, it is not like that. However, being passionate can inspire others to be as well...as it is not just your success, for yourself. Who knows to recognize it, can follow the similar path. And you definitely are a person others can be inspired by.

Thinking passionately is within everyone's grasp...Some may not be able to act it, but thinking it should be possible for all don't you think? I'll give you an example...Thinking passionately enough about one's health to exercise or eat properly. I think being open to inspiration is also something many should consider.

I'm impressed. You not only got the right answer you phrased it in the form of a question! You are the big winner on '#weekend-engagement Jeopardy today.

Impressing you is enough for me, my work here is done.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Ahhhhhhh. Very nice list. Nice to lead off with an unchanging passion-the piano. I too have a life passion. Motorcycles. From my first ride on my own motorcycle I KNEW. It has evolved and spread and changed over the last 56 years, but I am still excited by them.

I love that family is a passion and I suspect it will be so for many (closer to all than most, I think). Family for me has been a 'come and go' thing, unfortunately. It's currently high on the list, but hasn't always been.

I agree with the third entry :) I get it, I'll see in a little while how I do with that last one. It's changing in my mind as I type this response.

That is the same feeling, right? In my case the piano and you with the motorcycles. If it is from the ever first moment, that is for life!

Good luck with choosing the third response ☺️

I started to learn the piano but didn't stick with it long enough to retain much. Do you play other instruments as well or just focus on the keys?

Several of my musician friends have started performing again recently, although I suspect this may be a bad idea. How have you dealt with the new normal?

I just focused in my studies on piano. The new normal actually took away all my performance possibilities, as I regularly played in some places that were forced to close so I am not very happy with that...

Wooow, Someday i'm going to take piano lessons! I love it. There was a time when i didn't know whether to take piano or violin lessons... and since i couldn't decide, i took dance lessons hahaahahah, but i hope to make the time soon to do so, and i think i'd do better on the piano than on the violin.

It is never too late to start @tripode. I have some older students than me, and they are thrilled with the piano. It gives them a special feeling.
I suppose that the violin needs more patience in the beginning until you get some nice sound out of the instrument.

Thank you, i will keep it in mind!

Yeah! For sure passion changes as one advances in age, when I was a kid I used to play football which was one of my passion then, at that time boys from different streets will come together to compete for the championship position but now I can't even remember the last time I kicked a ball talk less of playing it. 😅😂

I do feel that passions can change over time. You list several items that now you're interested in. Those can quickly become a passion, especially a social platform such as Hive. And learning crypto is definitely something to get excited about.

I have witnessed this myself of passions changing over time. There are several things that I felt strongly about in my youth that concerned me that now have been replaced with concern for others. I think that as I grew and was able to provide for myself, I turned outwards and looked to do the same to others.

Thanks for sharing your passions.

Yes, absolutely. The age is determined in that change. I wanted to mention that as well... and who knows what other concerns we will have in just a few years from now

I love that passions change, but I think we will all have an early passion that we carry with us through life.

Yes, some "first love" - passions last for the whole life :-)

All your passions enchanted me, for the great time invested in learning the piano I know you have come far and not only that, you are a master in your passion.

Oh, I like that phrase, master in your passion
Thanks @rafaelgreen

Three or... 10. I like your style. Weird, my autocorrect had argyle. 🤔

Note to self: Buy a pair of argyle socks for Christmas.

How thoughtful. Let me know when you need my address.

Yeah, OK. I'll let you know. Really.

Size 10US. And I Lo0Oo0oveE pink!

💗

Sorry. Crimson and Grey with the WSU logo. I looked at them this week.

When you mentioned the socks and I recognized your concern for my feet getting cold. I appreciate that btw I just assumed you were a giver. Now I know if I want the socks I gotta get'em myself!

Merry Christmas!

You're an amazing piano player! You play beautifully.

Also, I like the simple passion that come in details. Those are the things that help you stop t appreciate life every so often.

Thank you @betrayo, and I am more than surprised and grateful for your beautiful and so professional comment on my Chopin video. You are a discovery for me 😇 thanks to this #weekend-engagement topic!

Likewise. I tried my best to make a good comment on it, @mipiano. That performance deserves a ton of comments with praise for your technique and presence.

Thanks you for showing some of your passions. They were very interesting to know and trying to grasp how deeply you care about them.

#weekend-engagement is a blessing!

Playing the piano is a good passion and I expected it from you, hahaha. Family is always considered our passion because of the love we share. I agree with you in terms of hive, it has really been my passion for some time now

Yes, it was expected for the piano. But what would be a job without doing it with passion? :=)

Yea, that's right. A job becomes stressful when you don't have passion for it
