"You are the precious asset of my life, and I don't want to loss you ever. I never thought it before, that my life would become peaceful and full of happiness after your arrival in my life."

George said to his wife, while his hands were on her face. Actually it was their 7th anniversary, but the love between them was still same, since the day one. George was on good post in the textile company, and they were living their life peacefully. They had two children, Anna and Daim. But George's mother was not happy with his extravagant behavior, and she was used to scold him for spending his money lavishly on his wife and children.

One day, George brought a diamond necklace for his wife, and so many other gifts for his children and mother, but she scolded him for this. But he never cared for anything, and continued to live his life free from any worries. Next day he brought his family to the mall, where they bought new clothes, and toys for his children. Soon he also changed his house, and bought a new one on mortgage in defence.

His children were also studying in the most expensive school of the city, and there was nothing in store for rainy days. One day George went to his office, and their boss called for a meeting, in which he announced about the crisis which his company was going through. Soon it faced a major loss and it was not possible to run the company any more. So his boss informed all their workers and managers about the destruction of his company, and he gave them termination letters. It was a great shock for all of them, and George was deeply saddened to hear this. He entered the house with heavy steps, and despair was visible from his face. His wife consoled him, and asked him to find another job.

George dropped his CV in many institutions and companies, but fate was not in his favour, so he faced despair from everywhere. He was very depressed, his children were demanding the same lavish lifestyle, and all the payments were on head, still unpaid. He did his best to find another job, but couldn't. He was left in the sinkhole of despair, and finally one night he committed suicide.

It was a great loss for his family, specially for his wife, who was left behind along with her two children and mother-in-law. Now the responsibility of their upbringing was held on her shoulders, and she faced all the circumstances with great courage. She started to work to run the expenses of their house, but sadly she found some evil minded people there. So soon, she decided to leave the job. Now all the hope was lost, and she was in state of pessimism.

The hard decision which George took to free himself himself from despair has now put his wife in the same sinkhole of despair. One day, she was doing some households while her phone rang. She picked up the call, it was from the insurance company. Actually it was on George's name, so after his death they asked his wife to collect the money.

George's wife was happy to hear this, as now she can provide her family needs. With the money she got from insurance company, she started a small business. She worked hard and soon is was running smoothly, which was enough to run their needs. But the sinkhole in her life, was left permanently.

Your story shares how a family's destiny can change so quickly, when life circumstances shift. George was a happy and carefree person as long as things were going well, but he could not hold up under the strain when they didn't. And the pain of suicide stays with a family forever.

What a sad story, @farahikram. I wonder why George's wife has no name in this story. She is the one who has to take the burden when he releases himself from responsibility for his family's future. But she is still "George's wife." I guess my belief in the strength of women to carry on under very difficult circumstances is coming through! I would like to see her as her own self.

There is an error you might want to correct in your first line:

"You are the precious asset of my life, and I don't want to loss you ever. I never thought it before, that my life would become peaceful and full of happiness after your arrival in my life."

"Loss" should be "lose."

Oh too sad! George had to die but his death brought his family back to comfort.

I feel he caused it all for himself, maybe he spent too much 🥲
