It's been well over 24 hours since the meeting, but I still can’t get over how enlightening and inspiring it was. I mean, I joined Hive because @onwugbenuvictor wouldn't take no for an answer. I came in with zero expectations, yet look how things turned out. Better than I could have dreamed!😇
Han pasado más de 24 horas desde la reunión, pero todavía no puedo entender lo iluminadora e inspiradora que fue. Me uní a Hive porque @onwugbenuvictor no aceptaba un no por respuesta. Llegué con cero expectativas, pero mira cómo resultaron las cosas. Mejor de lo que podría haber soñado😇.
Last week, the very intellectual @starstrings01 casually mentioned a meet-up for some Hivers in Lagos, Nigeria. At the time, the venue was undecided, so I didn’t think much of it, but hey, the hangout happened anyway.
It was scheduled for 9 am, but trust us Africans with our African time😉. Unless it’s a job interview or a life-threatening situation, trust us to add at least two hours to the scheduled time, lol.
Just so you know, I’m not stating the exact time I arrived because I didn’t get there at 9 am either.
On my arrival, I met most of the team already seated; @atyourservice, @onwugbenuvictor, @starstrings01, @josediccus, @ksam, @readthisplease, and @martinstomisin .Just when I thought I was last to join the meeting, @winniecorp came in, thank goodness!
I will not be remembered for being the last person to arrive at the meeting, lol. Winnie’s was quite understandable, given her distance. Despite how late I was, the group readily answered all of my questions without holding back.
Apparently, by the time I arrived, they had already placed the meal order, as seen in the pictures above. Trust a foodie to never slack, I immediately placed mine as well😜.

A mi llegada, me encontré con la mayoría del equipo ya sentado; @atyourservice, @onwugbenuvictor @starstrings01 @jossedicus @ksam @readthisplease, y @martinstomisin. Justo cuando pensaba que era el último en incorporarse a la reunión, entró @winniecorp, ¡menos mal!
Que sepáis que no digo la hora exacta a la que llegué porque tampoco llegué a las 9 de la mañana.
No seré recordada por ser la última persona en llegar a la reunión, lol. Lo de Winnie fue bastante comprensible, dada su distancia. A pesar de lo tarde que llegué, el grupo respondió fácilmente a todas mis preguntas sin contenerse.
Al parecer, cuando llegué, ya habían hecho el pedido de la comida, como se ve en las fotos de arriba. Confiando en que un aficionado a la comida nunca afloja, inmediatamente hice el mío también😜.
I finally got to meet @starstrings01, the main organizer, in person for the first time. I'd always wanted to meet him in person, and I'm glad it happened sooner than expected.
Por fin pude conocer en persona a @Starstrings, el organizador principal, por primera vez. Siempre había querido conocerlo en persona, y me alegro de que haya ocurrido antes de lo previsto.
If there’s anything I remember about him, it’s that he is homely, cheerful, and intelligent.
He taught us a number of things, he repeatedly hammered on engagement and the importance of engagement. Plus, there’s no forgetting the time he poured me the last juice in the jug, only for @readthisplease to playfully drink it instead, lol, it was all funny and cool.
He left me a piece of his grilled turkey, but I turned it down because I didn’t want to soil my nails. What was I thinking?! A foodie never turns down food🙃.
Si hay algo que recuerdo de él es que es hogareño, alegre e inteligente.
Nos enseñó varias cosas, nos machacó repetidamente sobre el compromiso y la importancia del mismo. Además, no hay que olvidar la vez que me sirvió el último zumo de la jarra, sólo para que @readthisplease se lo bebiera juguetonamente en su lugar, lol, fue todo gracioso y genial.
También está el hecho de que me dejó un trozo de su pavo a la parrilla, pero lo rechacé porque no quería ensuciarme las uñas. ¿En qué estaba pensando? Un foodie nunca rechaza la comida🙃.
There’s also @josediccus, the photography genius. He makes everything beautiful with his iPhone camera. I half expected him to be the cold, reserved, and quiet type, because his Hive profile gives off the ‘extremely serious type’ vibe, with little time for laughs, but I was mistaken.
He was open to answering questions and making significant contributions to the discussion. Plus, I like how he repeatedly called me ‘‘omosefeeeeeeee’, I bet he likes my name.
También está @josediccus, el genio de la fotografía. Todo lo hace bonito con la cámara de su iPhone. Esperaba que fuera un tipo frío, reservado y tranquilo, porque su perfil en Hive da la sensación de ser un tipo extremadamente serio, con poco tiempo para reírse, pero me equivoqué.
Se mostró abierto a responder a las preguntas y a hacer aportaciones significativas al debate. Además, me gustó que me llamara repetidamente "omosefeeeeeeee", seguro que le gusta mi nombre.
What more can I say about my friend @onwugbenuvictor? I'm sure the young man is tired of being tagged in so many of my posts. Now, he’s more Leofinance-oriented, so I'm sure you can guess how the conversation goes. goes. He’s one of the reasons I started to explore the Leofinance community in the first place.
He also offered me a piece of his turkey, which I politely declined because I didn't want to soil nails. Please don't bother asking me about forks and knives; that's simply not my thing!😂

Ahora bien, él está más orientado a las Leofinanzas, así que seguro que podéis adivinar cómo va la conversación. va. Él es una de las razones por las que empecé a explorar la comunidad Leofinance en primer lugar.

I must confess, @atyourservice is as gorgeous in person as she is in pictures, graciously hoarding the beauty meant for twenty people. I was relieved to learn at the last minute that she would also be attending the meeting; I wouldn't be the lone female after all.
@winniecorp, a welcome addition to the group. Despite the fact that we had never met or had a full chat anyplace else, she was rather softspoken and accommodating.
Mind you, @atyourservice and @winniecorp, you went exploring and taking pictures without me? Why? 😩

There’s no forgetting @readthisplease who has been instrumental to my journey on Hive; all I can say is thank you for every single aid you've rendered and every single piece of advice you gave. The hang-out was well worth it because you were also there.
I’ve been on the Canva app for the most part of my evening, practicing, because the warm and ever-smiling @ksam provided us insights and demonstrated a few tactics.
If you are music inclined, you should definitely check out his blog. Thank you Sam for willingly guiding me on the escalator when I was too terrified to do it on my own (unpopular gist: escalators freak me out!)
No hay que olvidar a @readthisplease, que ha sido fundamental para mi viaje en Hive; todo lo que puedo decir es gracias por cada ayuda que has prestado y cada consejo que has dado. La quedada mereció la pena porque tú también estabas allí.
He pasado la mayor parte de la tarde en la aplicación de Canva, practicando, porque el cálido y siempre sonriente @ksam nos proporcionó ideas y nos demostró algunas tácticas.

I also got to meet @martinstomisin, who appeared cool and shy at first, but he really wasn't. He took most of our shots and contributed immensely to the meeting.
It's reasonable to say that my comprehension of Hive is deepened, my thought process is broadened, and my thirst for knowledge has intensified. Hive has truly transformed my life.
También pude conocer a @martinstomisin, que al principio se mostró tímido pero acabó tomando la mayoría de nuestras fotos y contribuyendo a la reunión.
Es razonable decir que mi comprensión de Hive se ha profundizado, mi proceso de pensamiento se ha ampliado y mi sed de conocimiento se ha intensificado. Hive ha transformado verdaderamente mi vida.
Overall, I realized that on Hive, patience, hard work, engagement(quality engagement), and consistency are critical. There's also the fact that Canva can perform a variety of useful tricks if put to adequate use.
I also learned that inspiration may come from anywhere. I learned a few things about taking pictures of literally anything at all and editing to fit the storyline.
Most importantly, I learned that a person can be in your life for ten years and make no impact, however, some others can come into your life and positively impact you within the shortest duration. Indeed, it’s not how far, but how well✌️.
Everyone in attendance was willing to share their experiences, challenges, and ideas, as well as to learn. It was simply a gathering of intelligent-minded people looking to achieve more. I couldn’t ask for a better group.
En general, me he dado cuenta de que en Hive, la paciencia, el esfuerzo, el compromiso (compromiso de calidad) y la constancia son fundamentales. También me di cuenta de que Canva puede realizar una gran variedad de trucos útiles si se le da el uso adecuado.
También aprendí que la inspiración puede venir de cualquier parte. Aprendí algunas cosas sobre cómo tomar fotos de, literalmente, cualquier cosa y editarlas para que se ajusten al argumento.
Y lo que es más importante, aprendí que una persona puede estar en tu vida durante diez años y no tener ningún impacto, sin embargo, otras pueden llegar a tu vida y tener un impacto positivo en un plazo muy breve. De hecho, no se trata de cuán lejos, sino de cuán bien✌️.
Todos los asistentes estaban dispuestos a compartir sus experiencias, retos e ideas, así como a aprender. Era sencillamente una reunión de personas con mentalidad inteligente que querían conseguir más. No podría pedir un grupo mejor.
