Toy Cars Now Collectables

in Market Friday2 years ago

Hot Wheels

Generally toys come from toy shops, over the years a collection grows, how often do children enjoy playing in the dirt racing around a tiny car, well we did!

This collection in better condition than ones I had, mine truly got put to good use having older brothers and never playing with dolls! Here showcasing my husbands where many still have original boxes.

Something I will be looking into is valuation, auction them off to collectors, another step in becoming a market is taking what you no longer look at and enjoy is to pass them along to someone who will enjoy tinkering with them once again.

How many do you recognize, most are from the 1950s and 1960s, there are many sharing a few to bring back sweet memories of when we were young not having TV it was up to you to invent yourself through games, slightly different to online games of today.

To explore the history of diecast cars some really are valued to ardent collectors around the world. This wraps up todays Market Friday and I hope you enjoyed a walk down memory lane. Reminder to self to photograph more professionally with the Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox cars in the boxed up collection. There is value in old collections.

Hello dear friend @joanstewart good afternoon
How many memories have you brought to my mind?
What a beautiful collection you have here; That's very nice of you, auctioning it off so others can play with them.
I appreciate you letting us know about this beautiful collection.
enjoy the weekend

Toys were made to last, I remember fondly our cap guns that we played with, and bows and arrows. Strange enough nothing came with big notices of possibly being dangerous, we had great times playing in the dirt being normal children.

It's true, that's the golden age of games, then we didn't talk about sedentary children and all those things today; The children went out to the street to have fun and have a good time

enjoy the weekend

Have a wonderful weekend as well @jlufer hopefully one day children will be able to go outdoors and play similar to what we did.

Thanks for update @hivebuzz

You're welcome @joanstewart, that's with pleasure 😊🌹 Have a nice weekend!

I have no idea what happened to mine from when I was a kid - perhaps @galenkp sold them all for HIVE ;D

Appears your brother has them in safe keeping, perhaps time to bring them out and look at them again. Yup great memories made with these little toys. Nothing beats original!

Seems so! I am not sure any of them are worth anything, but I used to enjoy playing with them. My daughter likes cars too - so I get to play again :)

Still have them in storage.

Time to check and go down memory lane, sure you two had great fun when young as well!

I've kept many things from the early days with the intention of handing them to those who come after us, I've already begun to do so. With no children of my own, I hand them to my niece and nephew. They're my beneficiaries anyway...you know, when I croak.

Paddling the same boat, much hoarded away for in case it could be kept within family. My boys are not planning babies anytime, which I have no objection to, now to sell and hopefully assist them in getting somewhere they can enjoy a life without looking over their shoulder.... if that is possible anywhere!

As for final croak it will happen just as well we never know when or how 🤣

Lol am too young to know those toys 😃

We played in the sand, Dad demarcated portion of back garden where we dug out roads, built mud houses, petrol stations, protection wall for towns and had full on village between three of us. Friends could bring their own and join in, it became a weekly event keeping everything working in good repair. It was good growing up back then.

I recall the sand one where we build houses with clay soil even with the loose soil, it was fun...

We played outdoors most of our childhood, barefoot running around once chores indoors had been completed, of which there were quite a few.

!BEER

Hey @joetunex, here is a little bit of BEER from @joanstewart for you. Enjoy it!

Your husband has a decent collection for sure and those are worth quite a bit these days. I managed to squirrel some stuff away over the years including cars and comics. The comics I have over 7000 war comics all boxed away and hoping one day they will be fairly valuable. Early ones are from 1952 and you just don't see them anymore.

Still have some working parts of his train set as well, cars are brought out every couple of years to dust and reminisce.

Never collected comics, not something our parents allowed us to purchase, books yes have some book collections from back then as well.

Very early comics should hold good value, enjoy marketing them, or passing down to children one day.

Manually curated by EwkaW from the @qurator Team. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for visiting @ewkaw lovely seeing @qurator and appreciate curate.

Very nice. I have a couple of old toy cars, too... But they were from my mom when she was a kid. Mine and my brother's, unfortunately, weren't Proof of Brat. 😆

Proof of Brat

No mine were long time gone, really 'played them hard' then passed onto orphanages when we grew up as our parents did with most things we grew out of over the years.

lovely. As a boy I had so many similar toys, and as boys do they rip open the packaging and bin it. Bash the toys about and play with them until something more new and shiny arrives. If only we knew then what we knew now!!!

Our home much the same toys were put to ultimate test of durability under grubby paws.

Not sure how my husband kept his so clean and neatly packed in original boxes!

he must have seen the future!!!

Doubt it, no children around prepared to get down and dirty.

Very nice collection, Joan, I wished I had taken more care of my toys, but I don't think there's anything left from the things we have been playing with as kids 😭

Our home the toys were tested out in the gravel, these are my husbands which are in good condition.

Perhaps the difference is he was younger than his sister, whereas I had two older brothers the contend with. My younger sister never played with cars only dolls so we were not on the same wavelength growing up, that only happened years later when we were both married.

We have destroyed every single toy we have had, I believe. I remember cars and other things, but nothing's left 😁
All 4 of us have been in about the same age with only 1 or 2 years difference to the next kid, but we have been very different, and still we are.

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

It was fun, then we had to grow up! We 4 also about same age difference between, so grew up looking after each other, or hounding each other a lot.

Hope the sun is shining, much like here heading into a warm day again, off to beach walk after a slow start.

We have been fighting a lot and then escaped from family into all directions 😁 but now we are all living quite close to home again. I'm living the furthest away with 130 kilometres.

We're having nice weather here and I'm wishing you a great time on the beach 🌞

How cool are these toys, Joan? @joanstewart These are truly awesome! My brothers had Hot Wheels, but, later in years than these and they didn't have their own boxes! I love that yours did. That makes them even more special. I looked up just the jaguar and it looks like it is worth a bit of money, how fun will that be finding the right person that will pay its value. I just looked up the American version of them (Matchbox) and was shocked! They did have boxes, but, only up until 1969 or1970, so says Google.

There are a number of Matchbox models that could be worth thousands of dollars; especially if they were issued in the '60s and they're in great shape. I found some here in 2018, seems they were worth much more. Must have been more money back then. I have also saved little things like this from when my kids were small, metal Tonka Trucks(they are all plastic now) and the requisite Barbie dolls... but, I don't see young people saving things as we did if my older nieces and nephew are an example. They seem to like new. :/ Anyway, it was so fun to read your post and look up our own version of these things. :) Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday! I cannot tell you how pleased I am to see so many participating every week. Finding collectors who really would enjoy them would be great, have looked into some sites where they congregate.

Started to photograph, label and sort, something we need to do before searching for ardent collectors.

Thanks for visit and yes the old toys do have some excellent resale value Denise.

Funny, it wasnt what I was thinking of when I started collecting them!

Good luck to you!

We kept collection to hand down to sons, if they move, have indicated they not taking much with them.

My collections of Hot Wheels has no end I think I have every model they ever built my dad use to take me to these stores and he would buy two or three of them every weekend and I them all put away still in there boxes apart from many more model cars he bought me just to name some the Ford GTHO Phase III , Holden Monaro's GTS's , Corvettes, Mustang's the list goes on....

If you still have them they may be well worth looking into value. Nice you Dad collected on your behalf.
