Hi @hivepets friends, this time I want to share a wonderful experience I lived with my pets, it turned out to be the first bath of the smallest of the house, Pistacho.
What made this bath special was that instead of doing it at home, we took advantage of bathing him in Carúpano, in my hometown, Güiria de la Playa . At first I had a lot of doubts about it, but then we cheered up and went with the four of us (Carota, Sugar, Cherry and Pistachio).
Finally I was bathed and it was not conventional!
My biggest concern was to know: was it really good for them that blissful swim in the sea?, but I did some research and found out that it could be beneficial. It turns out that it can be beneficial for some skin infections and even for relieving canine osteoporosis pain!
Pistachio is barely two months old, so I had not had the opportunity to bathe him before that trip, as a friend had told me that I should avoid bathing him before the month and his vaccination, so as not to expose him to stressful situations that could make him sick being devoid of any immune protection, so up to that point I had only done hygiene maintenance. I cut all the hair on his tummy, his paws, eyes and ears. Like Caraota, that relaxed him a lot and he enjoyed it, it seems that this type of care is proper of a Spa for them haha.
As I still can't give him any product to protect him from ectoparasites (fleas, ticks and lice) that can make him sick, so I am very attentive to check his skin and fur constantly, so far I haven't had any surprises, but I still try to keep an eye on him. Precisely these enemies lodge mainly in their paws and ears, so it is important to maintain the hygiene of these areas, especially when they have access to areas such as yards or gardens.
When the plan goes off plan...
Anyway, the day arrived, we decided to go early so that we could get home and take them out of the salt water without the cold hurting them. Since almost all of them are puppies and have too much energy, my sisters, a cousin and I went, so that each one of us could take care of a puppy.
In the end it became a party, they enjoyed playing with the ball, exploring in the sand and shells, chasing each other and in a jiffy they had their fur destroyed haha full of water and black dirt (the dirt of this beach). So we were all watching all of them, because the energy they released was impressive.
The pretentious Caraota was the only one who didn't want to get so wet, she was nervous about the waves, but still enjoyed playing on the shore. That day the beach was great, there was almost no one besides us, the sun was in full sun and the water was very calm, that made us enjoy the moment a lot.
It was time to leave!
After a while Pistachio started to shiver, and we decided to leave, even though the others were still having a good time, we couldn't expose them to the cold like that, since we still had to bathe them to remove the sand and salt water.
I was worried 😳.
Later that day, we noticed that Pistachio started to evacuate liquid, apparently he had no abdominal pain discomfort and there was nothing strange in his stools apart from the consistency, he ate as usual his pet food avidly and drank enough water, but those evacuations were on 3 occasions in a row, in a space of about 3 hours or so between each one. She was scared because she had probably eaten something on the beach in the middle of the games and we didn't notice it.
After analyzing the situation, I understood that they know everything with their snouts first, so he had probably drunk sea water, which is not bad as such, but it is hypertonic (it has a lot of salt) and drinking it directly can dehydrate them and cause transitory diarrhea. So we took care of keeping him hydrated, the good thing is that he loves water, so it was an easy task to help him out of that discomfort!
Tips from this experience:
- Don't be afraid to take your canine pet to the beach, always document and consult with the specialist to be safe on every adventure!
- Always bring water and a snack if you take your pet to the beach, they are curious by nature, if you keep their hunger and thirst at bay they will enjoy it better.
- Take a towel to keep them warm when the day is over.
- Be prepared to live a beautiful and fun experience with them, take toys and their walker so you can always have control in a healthy way.

Hola amigos de @hivepets , en esta oportunidad quiero compartir una experiencia maravillosa que viví con mis mascotas, resultó ser el primer baño del más pequeño de la casita, Pistacho.
Lo que hizo especial este baño fue que en lugar de hacerlo en casa, aprovechamos de bañarlo en Carúpano, en mi pueblo natal, Güiria de la Playa . Primero tenía muchas dudas al respecto, pero luego nos animamos y fuimos con los cuatro (Carota, Sugar, Cherry y Pistacho)
Por fin me bañaron y no fue lo convencional !
Mi mayor preocupación era saber: Realmente era bueno para ellos ese dichoso baño en el mar?, pero investigué un poco y descubrí que podía ser beneficioso. Resulta ser que puede ser beneficioso para algunas infecciones de la piel e incluso para aliviar dolores por osteoporosis canina !
Pistacho apenas tienes dos meses, por lo que no había tenido oportunidad de bañarlo antes de ese viaje, ya que una amiga me había dicho que debía evitar bañarlo antes del mes y de su vacuna, para no exponerlo a situaciones estresantes que pudiesen enfermarlo estando desprovisto de alguna protección inmunitaria, entonces hasta ese punto solo le había hecho mantenimiento de higiene. Corte todo el pelito de su pancita, sus patitas, ojitos y orejas. Al igual que a Caraota, eso lo relajo mucho y lo disfrutó, parece ser que este tipo de cuidados son propios de un Spa para ellos jaja
Dentro de todo, no se beneficia él nadamás, como aún no puedo darle algún producto para protegerlo de ectoparasitos (pulgas, garrapatas y piojos) que lo pueden enfermar, entonces estoy muy atenta de revisar su piel y pelaje constantemente, hasta ahora no me he llevado ninguna sorpresa, pero igual intento mantener la vigilancia. Justamente estos enemigos se alojan principalmente en sus patitas y orejas, por lo que es importante mantener la higiene de esas zonas, sobre todo cuando ellos tienen acceso a zonas como patios o jardines.
Cuando el plan se salen del plan...
En fin, llegó el día, decidimos ir temprano para así llegar a casa y sacarles el agua salada sin que el frío les hiciera daño. Como son cachorros casi todos y tienen demasiada energía, fuimos mis hermanas, una prima y yo, para que cada una pudiera estar pendiente de un perrito.
Al final se volvió todo una fiesta, ellos disfrutaron de jugar con la pelota, de explorar en la arena y las conchas, de perseguirse unos a otros y en un santiamén tenían el pelaje destruido jaja lleno de agua y de tierra negra (la tierra de ésta playa). Así que todas estábamos pendientes de todos ellos, pues la energía que liberaron fue impresionante.
La pretenciosa de Caraota fue la única que no se quiso mojar tanto, le daban nervios las olas, pero aún así disfrutó de jugar en la orilla. Ese día la playa estaba fenomenal, no había casi nadie aparte de nosotras, el sol estaba en pleno y el agua estaba muy serena, eso nos hizo disfrutar mucho el momento.
Llegó la hora de marchar!
Pasado un rato Pistacho empezó a temblar, y decidimos marchar, a pesar de que las demás la estaban pasando bien aún, no podíamos exponerlos al frío de ese modo, pues aún faltaba bañarlos para quitarles la arena y el agua salada.
Estaba preocupada 😳
Ese día más tarde, nos fijamos que Pistacho empezó a evacuar líquido, aparentemente no tenía ningún malestar de dolor abdominal y no había nada extraño en sus heces aparte de la consistencia, él comió como de costumbre su alimento de mascotas ávidamente y bebió agua suficiente, pero esas evacuaciones fueron en 3 oportunidades seguidas, en un espacio de más o menos 3 horas entre cada una. Estaba asustada porque seguramente había comido alguna cosa en la playa en medio de los juegos y no lo notamos.
Luego de analizar la situación, entendí que ellos todo lo conocen con el hocico primero, así que seguramente había bebido agua de mar, que no es mala como tal, pero es hipertonica (tiene mucha sal) y al beberla directamente puede deshidratarlos y causar diarreas transitorias. Entonces nos encargamos de mantenerlo hidratado, lo bueno es que a él le encanta el agua, así que fue tarea fácil ayudarlo a salir de ese malestar!
Consejos de esta experiencia:
- No tengas miedo de llevar a tu mascota canina a la playa, siempre documentate y consulta con el especialista para estar seguro en cada aventura!
- Lleva siempre agua y una merienda si llevas a tu mascota a la playa, ellos son curiosos por naturaleza, si mantienes su hambre y sed a raya lo van a disfrutar mejor.
- Lleva una toalla para darle calor cuando termine la jornada.
- Prepárate para vivir una hermosa y muy divertida experiencia con ellos, lleva juguetes y su paseador para que siempre puedas tener el control de una forma sana.
