Hello again. :)
I'm glad that it looks like some of you will join us for the finals of the IFC season 2!
At the beginning of the season we set out to explore the universe more and we did explore a bit, but also got a bit stuck for a while too and perhaps even lost at some points.
There were some great stories and awesome artwork created and unique insight shared.
A few of our significant achievements in my opinion were making some good progress on another new IFC song which still needs to be finalized and put together properly and recorded at some point.
We also got some support from one of the bigger names on the former steem now hive platform which was really cool.
And... One of the most amazing and fascinating things in my opinion was how we started to create our own new language with numerous new words being added to the dictionary and all of them are interesting.
I definitely feel like that is going to be a quest in the future seasons to keep working on over time, the implications to me are mindboggling!
I could see how in many years we could develop quite a vocabulary or "dictionary" and we could do quests which incorporate those words and it could be really quite special I think...
It also helped lead me to some other ideas about how all of this might work in a crypto sense and gave me a few really intriguing ideas.
Plus leaky20 suggested to work more on the story and also to focus on perhaps building a new world as a theme which I really vibe a lot with, apologies if the story felt a bit distant... I'm not the best creative/fantasy sort of writer, last season I had a few people helping with that who were really good at it.
Anyways... Things I've been doing in the real world will I'm very hopeful allow me to factilitate the IFC even more in the not too distant future and hopefully allow me to offer much better prizes which I believe will probably attract more players. :D
This season I tried to reach out to my audience on Facebook and had very little interest, I think because so many people don't understand the value of crypto yet... If I could offer some good cash prizes, I think things will pick up a lot around here regardless of whatever is happening with the politics of steem/hive/Facebook or any other social media we should be able to sort of... Survive on just about any social media and we can even play by email now too, so... That's really important I think.
I could see in future seasons how this could really become even more meaningful and significant and I am super excited. :) I want you to know that you're all important to me and I love you.
I hope for this IFC idea to continue on into the future for many years even after I die if everything goes really well and I'm so grateful for each season and each individual person who participates, if this game lasts many years into the future you will be some of the sort of "founding pioneers" or "historical players" and I think every single one of you are unique and awesome people in your own ways and I've loved reading/experiencing/learning from your diverse personalities and thoughtful entries. Thank you.
I would like to say that my eyes are still an issue and one of the main things we need to figure out is how to get this game running more by the players (Or if I get enough money I can hire judges full time and pay them much better, yet it would be most ideal if the players could somehow do that instead...) so I can spend less time looking at computer screen reading lots of text which strains my eyes.
If we can do that where I have to stare at the computer screen much less... And I can offer better prizes in the future... That would be epic I think! And... I will work towards that. <3

I was going to try to set up who is playing who in advance, but... Around half of our players have told me they are not certain if they will play or not and it's a "maybe"...
So... I feel as if I should figure that out after, and that once all the entries have been submitted and the week is over I will officially match up the opponents sweet 16 style with the person in 1st place playing the person in last place and the person in second place playing the person in second to last place and so on so forth.
I will say however the names below of people who have said they will be available and those who have said maybe so you can sort of get an idea of who you might be playing against.

The subject of our first finals quest is.. "Synchronicity".
I started noticing synchronicities back around 2012 and I've been experiencing a lot of strong synchronicity in my life in recent times and I find it to be a fascinating subject and phenomena.
I feel like studying my dreams and their relation to my perceived reality has increased my connection and understanding with this and to some degree I think it is synchronicity that we are all here together to experience this event right now as well.
It might even be more significant than just some completely random happenstance, some people believe you meet other people for a reason and maybe there is some kind of reason we are meeting each other...?
I dunno... It's difficult to describe and I can't even fully elaborate on some of what has led to this kind of thinking, however... Some things that have happened especially in recent times really make me wonder about these kinds of things and how maybe there is something deeper going on.
But, nonetheless... Even though I don't personally really subscribe to destiny or fate it almost seems like there's some kind of spiritual destiny or fate kind of thing in regard to us all meeting here and at the very least events have happened/transpired in the world in a very specific way differently for all of us to be here right now which I think is neat and valuable in it's own right.
So... Let's explore more this idea of synchronicity and to start here is a modern definition of the word.
"syn·chro·nic·i·ty noun 1. the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection."
And here is some etymology.
"synchronic (adj.) occurring at the same time," 1775, shortening of synchronical (1650s), from Late Latin synchronus "simultaneous" (see synchronous). Linguistic sense is first recorded 1922, probably a borrowing from French synchronique (de Saussure, 1913). Synchronal "simultaneous" is from 1650s. Related: synchronically."
Your goal can once again be accomplished in virtually any manner you see fit, you could write a personal story, a short story, a scientific sort of prose explanation or do a poem or make a YouTube video or do photography or create a song or draw/paint or perhaps you could do some combination of those things or other things or just about whatever you want really, it's up to you how you create your entry as long as it's somehow related to the subject of synchronicity.

Coincidence or synchronicity...
Good question... Coincidence could be another word for it I think if you come at it from a purely scientific point of view. I'm not in a position myself to say whether there is anything spiritual going on because I can't prove it, so I can't answer... However, I've experienced a lot of what people refer to as synchronicity and I'd like to know more about it!
It seems like a really intriguing subject to me especially when you get into certain things like the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and how it appeared to have been predicted by people in many different ways beforehand, like... There were movies, tv shows, cartoons, music album covers, video games and more different kinds of things which predicted the events in significant detail, were those just coincidence? Or was there something deeper going on in relation to some kind of spiritual synchronicity?
At least one of those people who predicted it appeared to have predicted it in a dream. And some similar sorts of predictions go back thousands of years, is it just purely coincidence...? I wish I knew!

Yup, absolutely! I think you will have a different view as mine has become a bit more spiritual these days in recent times, however... I think different views are good and help us learn more and I still very much enjoy science as well and I'm actually very curious to hear about synchronicity from more of a scientific point of view since I usually hear about it from more of a spiritual perspective, so... I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how you frame it! :D
When is the cut off date for entries?
It's the same as regular season, a week from the start of when the blog was posted or when the post payout thingy happens. I can find the exact date if you'd like? Also, is everything okay? If you're dealing with an injury or an emergency or something we might be able to give you a short extension.
Seriously, someone is going to have to explain this whole Hive thing to me. I wasn't too sharp with the whole Steemit thing. Glad to see some familiar names up on here and looking forward to seeing what everyone has to share.

I'm not the best person to explain it, I've become a bit more distant since all that went down both because of some of the political/drama sorts of stuff that happened and because I've just been extremely busy as well. But, essentially some rich dude kind of bought steemit inc and there was a big argument over previous obligations laid out by Ned/Dan etc and it kind of turned into a war and they couldn't really get along and the community decided a split was needed and Hive is the fork, it's pretty much all the same people doing their own thing now without steemit inc or even the name steem, however it is essentially to my understanding the same system and framework and it's just a "fork" or a split.
Now you have steem and hive coins by the way so however much your account was worth you now have steem and hive coins of that. I don't really use steem anymore though. I prefer the Hive people even if some of them did some shady things. I hope that explains things enough, if you have any questions lemme know. And... Thanks for the entry jbreheny! Alas, I was not able to put something together in this past week - holiday travels and catching up with work are my sorry excuses.
I went around and voted on those entries which were not already past payout, and for @jbreheny whose post I missed, I managed to find a not-too-old comment to upvote - hopefully that works and @dustsweeper will strengthen my vote up to 2 cents!
It's funny you would have chosen "synchronicity" as the topic - one of my favorite podcasts has synchronicities quite commonly! Little things like talking about a random topic, then opening a letter sent at least a week prior only to find a comment related to the same concept!
I am certain we are all interconnected at some quantum, energetic level, and maybe the more we resonate at a certain frequency the more we tap into similar energy around us.

And yeah, I have a feeling you're right in regard to us all being connected somehow and I'm not sure I understand it... Though, somehow it seems like something else is going on more than perhaps "meets the eye" as some might say. And yes, well said! Maybe there is a way to sort of resonate at a certain frequency and tap into a similar energy... I more and more believe that and feel like I've been seeing it in my life. It's quite an experiment! And life sure is a strange creature the more and more I learn about it.

I already responded to owietus on Facebook, but I like to try to respond to all the comments so I would also say again here that I think this is very interesting. The odds are fascinating and some people believe that certain numbers have spiritual meaning in general and also further sort of personalized meaning for each person in our individual lives and that by seeing certain numbers at certain times in life it may hold some kind of extra meaning.
It could be pure coincidence, I don't know the answers... However, even if it is you can look at things like this sort of like how Tarot Cards work... Or similar to dream interpretation, you can take sort of one set of data and then contrast it with certain "archetypes" or understandings. I think it's fun and I enjoy trying to understand some of these kinds of things in a way that my previous skeptical self did not and I've learned so much by opening my mind a bit that I'm grateful I did. There's some really interesting stuff to learn in the "spiritual" realm in my opinion. :)

I have some funny synchronicities in my life as well on the numbers front - surrounding my children.
I have six children and all were born on an odd-numbered day in an even-numbered month.
The first three only had 1s and 3s in their birth digits.
Five of the six only had 9s, 1s and 7s in their birth weights. My youngest's weight was exactly the opposite my third. (i.e. pounds and ounces were switched.)
In adulthood, I have lived in all three of the single-word states beginning with W - and when I was in Britain, two of the four places I lived in for at least a year also began with W. I have also lived on two streets with the same name (not numberical either) in two different states.

The topic is interesting and for me it's actually even more interesting the more I learn about it and the longer I've been exposed to it, kind of like how people age wine or something like that... Happy to see you got an entry in! :) I loved reading it! Very interesting. It's amazing all the different factors that had to come into play for it to happen that way. The first example is intriguing how the synchs led to an understanding of the potential impact of what you're trying to do. I've had a few similar experiences like that and it's really neat to think how different things might have been if events had only been slightly different! A part that especially jumped out at me was the painting of the place that you travelled to recently which was also linked to the art gallery and the Bond movie and then all of those human social interactions afterwards! Whoa... Trippy. Kinda reminds me of that movie Inception almost, and I never saw the movie but I think I kinda know what it's about. I see you mentioned you felt a bit lost before then which in my opinion could be linked as the feeling of lost with the art as I think there can be an energy of sort of randomness/spontaneity/openness or serendipity which I believe can help lead to such kinds of experiences.
Very well said at the end there... Those last couple paragraphs were deep and heart felt and your entry kind of reminds me the most so far of a similar sort of feeling I was having when I decided to make this round about synchronicity... I've been having some similar experiences in life where I just think back about how many different things had to happen in a certain order for me to be at this spot right now and sometimes I get to the point now where I can recognize them in current time instead of just in retrospect and that has been quite rewarding. I don't know how to explain it, or what it means, and maybe it's just a sort of "search for extra meaning" like bengy kind of suggested in his entry, though... I can't help but feel like there's some other kind of language going on here, perhaps something spiritual though it doesn't have to be spiritual. I dunno... It's hard to describe and put words to. It almost feels like there's another world there we can tap into if we recognize it. :) And if there is, I look forward to tapping into it and hopefully doing some neat things in the future!
