Hi, Steemians!
For some people, their hero is themselves but many years in the future when they will eventually meet and decide how they have spent their life.
Ask yourself this question: If you were to see your future-self, would you be proud of the person you have become, or will you just be an old man full of regret, counting his days until they come to an end?
There will come a day when you will be shown a vision. The vision of everything you could have been and everything you could have accomplished; the person you could have become.
An image of your ideal-self who has lived a brilliant life.
On that day, you will either know the know the person or he will be a complete stranger to you.
You may know him a bit, which means you have walked towards your destiny a bit.
You may know him very well, which means that you have nearly accomplished everything that you were born to do.
You may also come to think that he might be your identical twin, and that is a fulfilled and accomplished life.
Let us not wait for that day. Try to imagine that vision. Try to think about that person right now. How close do you resemble him?
Think about your thoughts, your words, and your actions. Do they fall to harmony with that image?
Think about your decisions. Do they get you closer to realizing that vision and turning it into a reality?
Because if the answer is no, you are doing everything wrong.
Your life is a road. A difficult and turbulent road. At the very end stands a person waiting years on end for you to finally meet him.
Will you be ashamed of that person, or will you keep your face up and stand proud when you confront him?
Try to be mindful of the person who is waiting for you in the future.
Always keep him in mind. Think every thought, say every word, and do every deed in a manner that would make him or her proud.
There may be a lot of eyes on you even now, all expecting you to become successful in life.
But remember, most important of all is the person who is standing at the end of the road patiently waiting for you to reach him and make him proud.
Do not live your life with the regret of past decisions.
If you have ever thought or said or done something that would bring shame to that person, make a decision here and now and make sure that it was the last thought, word, or action that did not fall into harmony with your vision.
It is only then when you will live a life of happiness, without regret or fear, without the constant haunting thought that you may be doing it all wrong.
Think of that vision, and keep it close in your mind and in your soul.
Ask this question: Will your future ideal-self be proud or ashamed of who you will eventually become?

We can not evaluate our work ourselves. I am not completely convinced that we have done something to pride ourselves in the future. Yes, it is definitely done that intentionally has not harmed anyone, has not broken anyone's faith, has not hurt anyone's feelings, has given equal respect to everyone, has not cheated on anyone, and those things on his own Do not dominate those who lead us towards the ego.
Our good deeds are accounted for by God and that is why our good deeds make our identity in this world. I believe that with the positive thinking, starting the day and ending the day without hurting anybody, the day is the biggest capital accumulated for the future, which gives us a little scope to take pride in ourselves.

Who doesn’t want to be proud? At the ending period of life everyone sitting idle, calculate what he/she accumulated in the past long life if he/she did something good that made them proud and did something wrong that made them regretful, it varies person to person on which track he/she interested to run their lives, someone gets pleasure hutting others on the other hand someone gets pleasure by helping, actually your excellent writing inspires us to be much more generous to the God's creatures of the temporary living world and to be prouder of ourself, respected by the society and get consultations for our nice work, we're eagerly waiting for our nice future, may God bless us to be successful in our dream.

It is important to watch the kind of activities we carry out in our youthful days because most of the time, the repercussions are not experienced immediately. Also most regrets in later life are tied down to "use of precious time" in one's early years.
Time is precious and once lost it cannot be gotten again. Hence it's best for Young Minds to maximally use their time and opportunities while young and full of energy.

An excellent overview @chbartist and you are right, a view of yourself in the future is a very important thing and we should always do it. We all go somewhere and strive for our goals, but without a clear idea of the completion of our journey it is not possible to assess our future and what it will be!

I agree very much with your post. There is so much in life that we miss out on because we do not want to leave our comfort zone or due to fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, judgement, the list goes on and on. But by developing a clear vision and honestly assessing where you are in terms of reaching that vision is the way to go. I would like to also add that you will probably not know the roads to take to get to your future self so that is why I feel it is so important on having a mentor that has what you want in your life. Following the footsteps of another successful person (and I mean this in a way that isn't necessarily about money or status) and learn how to become and have what you so desire. Association matters! If you want to elevate your mindset and your dreans, you need to associate with others who will lift you up not bring you down.

We should be considerate for the people who expect from us or considering ourself as their idol. Evaluating ourself is very difficult but may be later stage of time we can evaluate but immediately not possible for me. Nice post @chbartist

It's hard for me to imagine being proud of my future self. Not because I think that my life is going in a completely wrong direction, but because it is always hard for me to accept the thought that I might be doing something right. - I am working on that, though, so hopefully I will one day say that I can be proud not only of my future self but also of my present self.

That's a really good question to ask ourselves. I guess my future self would still be proud of what my old self have gone through to get there.
We make mistakes and learned from them. All those scars defines who we are in the future.

It is always better not to look back at what I have done in the past years. I cant deny that I am still confused with my future and what I will do. Maybe I change my goals very fast and dont accomplish all of them. I need to be more disciplined :)

Be yourself. Do what you would do without pressure or external influence. Don't alter your decisions based on external stimuli. Focus on yourself and your deeds should be help you, not to please others.

Sorry for being always a bit critical of your articles, but I feel that it might be a good balance 😅
While I think that living up to a future self can inspire good actions, I wonder if the act of comparison is all too helpful.
The base of my argument being that comparing always implies some kind of struggle. For example, I feel that I do not live a good life, but I tell myself that one day I will be better. Such thinking means that my mind is in constant conflict with itself. I will always feel that I should be different.
Instead, what happens when I accept my current state? What happens when I actually see my behavior as being wrong without trying to change it? Perhaps in this lies the first step in changing?

Future is that well happy after the present this is a subject of proud if we likely to successful survive.

rightly said @chbartist. I think our future-self has a lot to do with what we do with our present-self because most people plant a rock in the present and hope to find a huge tree in the future and this is practically not possible.
