It's practically just as easy to get a steemit/dtube account as it is to get a YouTube account, both require a phone number etc.
The issue lies with easing the apprehensions that non-tech enthusiast consumers. A process that will take time and steadiness. Personally, I am happy to see adoption from such a big channel.

Y'all have more influence than I do, especially in the YouTube community and I need your help doing some good.
Recently, more YouTubers I like to watch have experienced the same issues y'all have and I need your help notifying them. A YouTuber by the name of Arend Richard, a pretty influential guy in the weed tube space is spending thousands trying to create an alternative to YouTube, but doesn't know about D.Tube. Please help people like him to learn about the already existing alternative D.Tube and save people like him thousands of dollars and hours of time by notifying them.
This is the video he mentions his struggles and plans
People like him would make great additions to the Steem community and further boost the market value of Steem by onboarding thousands more users! He's a great guy IMO

I've been here a couple days and the insincerity is the first thing that stood out. There are people who share thoughtful comments and you can tell they're just trying to get a vote, but at least they put some time and effort into what they're saying.
The group that bugs me are basically e-beggars with lazy, low-effort "thank you for posting"-type content. It's like chicks fishing for compliments and attention on Insta, but instead of putting SOME work into a cute photo they just snap a pic of themselves laying in bed, messed up hair and face pushed back showing off the double chin.
For reals. Such is life. We just got to ignore them at the best give em a heads up. There are good articles out there on how to comment. You basically have to be sincere and take your time to comment. But the common ones I see that is a little annoying is. Please upvote and follow me. Oh well.
