This is America

What a fucking week.

I woke up Monday, had no idea what I was about to witness when I opened up Twitter and started watching a video of George Floyd pleading for his life.
Reports say that he died later at the hospital, but it looked like he died right there on the video.
I felt sick, sad, and angry.

The day after George Floyd died, there was a peaceful protest.
Those protestors were sprayed with tear gas.
Next day, a huge protest/riot in Minneapolis that included looting.
The next day, huge protests/riots in multiple cities.
It's now been 6 days after George Floyd's death and protests continue to spread nationwide ... 30 cities so far.

Video footage shows that white people are not the only ones inciting riots ... but there are a bunch of videos showing young white kids as the instigators.

Social media is of course completely polarized regarding white people rioting:

  • It's Antifa!

  • No! It's white supremacists!

I don't know ... maybe it's both.

It's also probably white supporters of BLM as well as just white kids who want to riot and loot because they are young and stupid.

It is possible for multiple issues to exist simultaneously.

There is also an accusation of a white cop inciting violence by breaking the windows of the Minneapolis Auto Zone before it went up in flames.

There is also video footage showing a pile of bricks conveniently placed on the side of the road....

Some say this is all by design to start a race war so that the government can justify further control.

And all of this sadly takes away from the initial point of the protests regarding police brutality.

Sort:

And all of this sadly takes away from the initial point of the protests regarding police brutality.

I think that is at least partially on purpose to marginalize the situation. Which is: White cops kill minorities with stunning frequency. I'm way more familiar with the Native American population and the Hispanic community, but the story is the same.

Thanks for speaking out. It needs to be said by us all.

Yep, thanks bigtom

Ya, it is getting crazy. The video of Mr Floyd was very hard to watch. I have tried to stay away from all of the idiots on social media that are talking about this. There is too much hate and misinformation going around right now.

So much misinformation ... such a mess

"Some say this is all by design to start a race war so that the government can justify further control"

Yes, like fake pandemics, they do this psyop over and over because it works better each time

It’s a distraction to divide those waiting to join in, so the movement is stifled. And it’s working because Americans are tribal at heart and very deeply racist. I’m guilty of it too. I’m half white, and I can’t fucking stand you whites, who I’ve suffered under for being mixed race for every single one of these 36 years I’ve been alive. I can acknowledge that it’s the far left that is the most racist. We all know Antifa is the new version of the KKK, with a communist twist. But from the right wing, when I say I’m tired of being victimized and watching police kill us for amusement what I’m being told is basically this: “but”

Fuck off with your “but.” Go be a government bitch somewhere else!
And what is the protest at heart? It’s this. We see the NWO and we’re firing back. And it’s about time.

exactly.
I am in shock, too and even in my city there are now protests.

Oh wow I watched it .... so powerful

it is not the one incident that has erupted the wounds, but a collection of many black people being murdered recently, and the rage surrounding Trump, who quoted a 1960's white mayor during the black riots in the 60's, well, we know who he really is....it is all of this combined rage, not just a single event. This has happened so many times before in our history. And we are in a bad state in the USA, sliding into a place where we don't belong.

so true

Too many sheeple in this country. What happened to Floyd was wrong. What's happening around the country with looting and riots and ILLEGAL protests being broken up (only to cause damage to PUBLIC property) is wrong.

There's a right way to protest and have your voice heard - legally - then there's this method. Who ends up paying the bill for repairing all of these cities? The local taxpayers - Not the people breaking everything - because they were bussed in from somewhere else!

Fight for your freedoms! But first, know what you're actually fighting for - and do it without destruction of property. One wrong does not justify another wrong .. and two wrongs don't make a right!

Clearly you don't understand the Constitution.

We have a right to burn this motherfucker down.

From what I've seen, Private Institutions - who have nothing to do with the abhorrent act of violence conducted by a single individual - are being burned.

What right do you have to burn down their livelihood for something that they had no part in? None.

The owners of those businesses have the same rights to freedom that you have to express your rights. Your rights do not outweigh the rights of everyone else around you who holds those same exact rights.

I implore you to read the Bill of Rights again from the perspective of every citizen, and not from your own personal perspective. We as a society need to work together to solve our issues civilly, not "burn it down" every time that something happens that we don't like. The Federalist Papers are a great to read as well, since I'm assuming that you've read the full constitution, including all 27 amendments - having such a strong opinion on the matter.

I implore you to point out where I did any of that?

I have read them all, including every article that prefaces the bill of rights. You know...the first part of the actual constitution...

When you get to the Fourteenth, if you can understand it, it just...idk...negates the rest.

And you’re okay with the Fourteenth...until YOU become the F word. You’re okay with it because you have a very high chance of being offered a plea deal that removes the felony charge and you get to legally keep being 8/8ths of a man.

The rest of us...what’s that word? Oh yeah...NO.

We don’t get to keep our humanity.

It's terrible to know about abuse of authority and repression when you've seen it so close. We have seen our brothers run over, killed at close range by the despots in power. It also disturbs me to see such news. I hope it's mild, @isaria. Greetings

What a sad state of affairs all around. :(
People should be outraged at the murder of George Floyd...
Not sure if destroying the community is the best way to show it though.

I just got a alert on my phone saying my city is on curfew now.
no one outside from 8pm-6am.

Yeah, destroying communities doesn't help one bit

@tipu curate

Why can't it just be people rioting?

yep

Too plain, doesn't make news, won't get views...

People just ... rioting??
What a boring narrative!

It was just the people until someone applied a stereotype.

Several stereotypes.

Those in charge of this system have been slavers since before written history, with very few interruptions. They now again have the technological edge and are using every trick in the book to take us hostage.

Anyone who repeats the mantra the electronic box attached to their Xbox tells them is a useful idiot and a drain on humanity.

Look closely at what you said. Even stereotypes are applied to those in charge. Did we create that fear just to have something to be afraid of?

You mean the white skinned red-haired ape that come from the Caucasus mountains to eat the other apes that look exactly like it, but with different color hair?

TV said it...it must be true.

I've been thinking a lot about the medias control. Shared a few random thoughts in my most recent post yet I still can't seem to place my finger directly on it. Like a word I know, on the tip of my tongue, but it's not coming out, so it's given a placeholder word that almost says the same thing. It's so strange.

It doesn’t feel good does it?

bows and exits

And it turns out the human was only trying to upset the other one.

It's interesting how commonplace this has become in society. Instead of taking part though, I'm simply observing.

Feeling a sense of accomplishment feels good. Yet nothing was gained from this.

Have a good day, Nathan.

Ye, verily. Enjoy the fuckery.

I think we can't dumb them down to protests about race, people are fed up with being confined and going mad too!

America to foreigners look like the Wild West, I really hope you are all safe
