My feed is quieter and colder than Antarctica.
I follow 450 people and yet, I only see around 100 people posting regularly
The reward pool is the same as any other day. Around 50,000 Steem are printed every day. I mean, it´s not that simple, actually a complicated formula is used to determine the exact quantity:
new_steem = ( ( virtual_supply * current_inflation_rate ) / ( 10000 * BLOCKS_PER_YEAR ) ) * CONTENT_REWARD_PERCENT;
But let´s not get technical here, the point is, every day a similar amount of Steem is printed every day.
So now imagine that the same Steem is printe daily but, the amount of users posting decreases due to payouts being lower.
I have some tips for you that I give everyone who comes to me for advice - I´m not an expert in crypto nor economy, but I´m a good content creator and I can give some advice about this subject:
First of all: Don´t panic, dont sell your Steem.
Most Steemians are posting fewer times a week. This means that if we keep posting at our regular frequency, we will increase our chance to have more people reading our posts whether it is in other people´s feed or by browsing other tags.
The post quality is overall dropping but, if we continue to post with our regular quality, chances are some big stakeholder votes our posts.
Every post payout we get will be paid completely on Steem. Now is the time to stack steem, keep posting, every time you get a payout, you will get more Steem than when the price was higher. Remember we sould be thinking long term. Every Steem we receive today will be worth tons more in a few months/years.
People´s vote is worth less that´s true, but also everyone - who cares about the platform - is focusing in rewarding only the best content... So rise your post quality.
If you have Fiat - that is, physical money - consider buying Steem. This is a great time to buy Steem at this price.
So, what are you waiting for? Rise your posting frequency and don´t forget to keep the quality of your posts, otherwise all of this advice won´t be useful for you :(
In fact, since my feed is pretty much dead, I was thinking about following some more people. Why don´t you leave here in the comment section a short comment telling me what you blog about and, if we have similar interests i´ll check out your blog, if I like what I see i´ll start following you, no matter your reputation, steem power or time in the platform.
I made a similar post a few months ago and I stand by what I said there. I´m posting again about this subject because I think this is the right time to give this advice again. Now is the moment to keep posting, stacking steem and increase our engagement. Are you on board?
Excellent post, I am really new in the steemit community (only a week) and I have great expectations although I have not earned any money yet therefore I have no pattern of comparison between what was earned before and what´s earned now.
Obviously I need time and work to move forward, as you said "The prize is right, post more" but getting support from those who have more level and experience is essential to grow quickly.
I intend to make posts daily or more, additionally I have started a project of a photo every day and Thursdays of memories. Soon I will initiate others at the suggestion of those who have more experience. I am from Venezuela and I write in Spanish but once I take control of what is done here, I will start writing some posts in English as well.
Your post gives me more courage to develop in this community even though I have never written in blogs before. I am already following you and would love you to follow me and after seeing my blog please comment to follow your advice.
Welcome to Steemit, @jam29. Is English your 2nd language? Your English writing is pretty good, I couldn’t tell any difference.

Thanks for your welcome.
Yes, English is my 2nd language. You are very kind to say that my writing is pretty good, I know there is a big difference. You give me the courage to also write my publications in English. I will do it very soon.
Hi @anomadsoul
I've made a video that I posted earlier and focused on something of the same.
I allow to post it here to give people a little smile and think positively
Hey @anomadsoul, thank you for your reassuring post and encouraging people to keep their blogs running and post, when people hear such words from someone with your experience and insider glance that brings a peace in their minds. It is like politics, we see now for example in UK due to Brexit, people frightened of unknown and EU citizens quitting UK leaving their posts uncovered that affecting the industry and the economy.
Back to Steemit, the people have to see it like in real life, like Zebra's stripes, there are black stripe but we know that after that it will be the white one. It can not always go only downwards now the Steem finally plateaued and this is a good sign. But how many people look at the graphs and moreover how many understand how to read them.
Earlier I wrote my thoughts on @acidyo 's post, where he express the same thoughts like you. I mentioned that artists community will slow down now because one of the loyal supporter of artists @slothicorn project stopped because the delegation has been withdrawn. And we know that @ocd-resteem stopped resteeming the arts already for some time.
The artists have been always weak part of community, their works sometimes recognized too late, like in real life many artists despite of been on Steemit for more then a year still have little of Steem power because I do not think that whales are interested in art. Although we all agree and can't imagine our life without art.
As to my blog I found an artist in myself when I joined Steemit on 25/08 (soon is one year! Gosh, the time flies!) and I will keep developing myself and share my adventure on this Platform that I believe has future!
Cheers, your @Stef1
The post rewards are smaller but it is still fantastic than any other platform @anomadsoul but only people who had the love for blogging just continues.
Better to continue posting and just enjoy the platform, we would earn more steem than if it would shoot up in price, it is still a good time in order to get some visibility.
Hi - great reasoning....
I tend to simplify things by just saying 'if less people are posting, you are going to get a greater relative share of the reward pool, if yer in steem for the long haul, then it makes more sense to post now irrespective of the price!
A timely reminder indeed.
Having said that, ironically, I'm finding it an enormous struggle to balance my other blog and this being between houses.
I really need my house sale to go through!
Hey @anomadsoul :)
That's so true. writing and posting good Posts is one of the best way to interact and be active on the platform.
There are many ways to get into the Action like the sndbox Weekly Posts.
Look whats your hobbies and write down something about. If someone is intrested in, he will already saved the tag in his favourites.
as an example, i wrote something about Chester Bennington, the lead voice of Linkin Park for the Sndbox Crypto & Art and finally he's my inspiration since i heared him :)
Anyway, i think Meetups and specially the steemfest3 will be a great way to communicate and interact with several other steemians who doesn't recognised you already.
So spread the words, get into it and write something up :)
As anomad said already.
Cheers
@rivalzZz
Rest In Peace, Chester Bennington.

Theoretically, it all sounds good. But realistically, it is not that straight forward. The reward pool still offers the same steem but kinda tilted from minnows, who can not circle jerk and little accumulated steem to put to work. They only rely on upvotes on their contents.
Unlike few months ago when i joined, the whales are not so 'generous' with their upvotes like before. Many are investing in bots or taking out as much as they can to invest somewhere else. Ofcourse it is prerogative to use their upvotes and steem as they like.
This means Whales' upvotes which keep minnows motivated are now hard to come by. The duty falls on communities. But they have more quality content creators trying to get their attentions and reduced upvote values.
It is hard for a minnow not to get discouraged from spending hours trying to create quality. Many have left, some are watching from the sideline and some like me are taking the not so tasking way of creating contents.
One way or the other i will find a way to active because i enjoy it here. It is more fun when when what you enjoy is taking care of your internet (like $4 a day here) and some other expenses. Hopefully better days will return soon.
I have to admit that I am one of those people that slowed down in terms of publishing content.
I used to be able to put out two posts a day especially with the bear market and people were posting less and I had the same thought that when people are posting less then there is an opportunity to be able to be seen more.
Yet about a month ago I got that Steem Burn out and I just started to lose interest. A huge part of that was because I was playing online games again in particular guild wars 2 and so the usual time that I spent Steeming was replace by going to raids and hunting for stuff.
I took the break not because of the price but I was feeling a bit down in terms of my growth. I felt some frustration that here I was at almost a year in the platform but I just could not make it work. I did everything I was into communities, my engagement was high but I just had such a hard time in getting views maybe its because I don't really have a niche.
Anyway still taking a break, down to publishing at least one every two days. I comment sometimes but still make it a point to reply to comments made in my post when I get back.
Hopefully with Hivemind and communities my energy will go back until then I do what I can to keep the fire burning even if it is set low at this point.
Interesting to read your story about why you've been posting less @maverickinvictus. This morning I feel I may finally be running out of energy too.
It took me eight months of posting every day except two, most days four times, to get to one thousand steem power. Then the last ouple of weeks I've been buying a little bit of Steem most days and I will be doubling my Steem Power shortly. So, it's hard to ask, in relation to posting, "what's the point"?
Engagement is way down and that makes it much harder to keep going too. I'm not finding with fewer people here it's easier to find more people to engage with. There just don't seem to be enough of us around anymore.
I'm not convinced Hivemind or communities will make much difference but we shall see. I think the future is more likely to be in SMT communities and, from that perspective, I'm still invested in Steem. I'm just not so sure about Steemit.
But then I've felt this way before and I'm still here and still posting and commenting. I can totally understand how you've got involved in gaming again though. If something else attractive turns up for me I may well do the same.
Maybe Steem Monsters will re-energise me, she says, not having a clue how to play such a game! 😂
I still think that Steem is a long game. Whatever SP we are able to generate and increase our holdings will be better for us in the future.
Who knows maybe someday with SMT Steem is such a premium crypto that we moon and that over 1K SP you have make you a multi millionaire!
I am hoping that I will get my energ back but in the meantime I am just enjoying life.
I'd be happy to take that @maverickinvictus. 😂
Very wise! 😁
Take it easy man, whenever you are ready don't forget that I am still here bro!
And the @promo-mentors fam ;)
Thanks FT once I figure out what I want to do again in the platform then I might come back
Hi @anomadsoul
I a gree with you
that at this time, the time was right to gather steem
without having to sell it, it lasts for only a few months
greetings from me to you @sultan-aceh
Couldn’t agree more with you @anomadsoul!
Keep on keeping on! And if you want some fresh content, come on over to #steemsilvergold
We are a community of asskicking Steemians and we’re rockin’!
😎👍👍
You hit the nail on the head brother. Twice ;) It's a fantastic time for anyone especially the newer one's to really get their feet wet and get involved! This is the time to STACK STEEM! I can't explain any better than you did but I can say that this is a GREAT time to mortar in one's foundation. Steem is also on FIRSALE as you stated and is a great buy at this time. The future holds much higher prices for steem and CrYpTo's in general. The one's who are here now and active will only be that much better off when prices rise once again! Nice one brother! Enjoyed!
I agree 100% - maybe 200% LOL
I've tried to keep posting once a day on my personal account, and once a day on our community account (@welcomewagon - probably the most amazing little family on Steemit hehehe, but I'm totally biased cuz i'm its "mom") LOL
I write all kinds of stuff. I finished a book - totally exclusive to Steemit .
Just finished a silly pizza review (if we can't laugh... then what are we doing in this world?!! LOL)
Of course then there is completely "out there" stuff like answering @snook's 5 questions LOL (honestly, i think i like to laugh more than anything in the world!)
and if none of that interests you...see if you can figure out which songs I mean. Yeah - you're a whale already, and its only 3 steem to win.... but.... how can you EVER turn down an easy way to win steem??? LOL
and if none of that interests you at all..... well.. hehehehe it was nice meeting you and i loved your points and i hope that EVERYONE pays attention to them. cuz - Steemit is unique. There are ups and downs - but I kinda like it when it gets quiet around here. Cuz then you get to know the people who are hardcore! When the masses flood back in - you know the names of the ones who were there through thick and thin! Nice perk!!! :)
You just cheered me up! All of what you said are true..
This is not a lost cause. There is still hope no matter how many great contents go unnoticed, I believe there are eyes lurking somewhere watching over the little ones..
PS. Please dont get tired supporting us. Take your vitamins regularly! Hehe take care!

If you followed me, you would see 101 active users—and you would have some haiku to brighten up your life ;) More seriously, to give a short sales pitch (since you asked), I am an American photographer living in Japan. In general I post two kinds of posts: photos of my travels in Japan and translated (by me) haiku along with some tips for understanding them. It is a bit more confusing than that; for example, I have several photo series going (Japan train life, random Japan, beautiful japan, people of Japan, flowers of Japan, unique Japan). I also post contests and giveaways and links to interesting things. I try to post at least twice a day.
If that sounds interesting, please check out my profile and see what you think :)
I agree with your points, by the way. But I see this drop in active users as a normal thing. Bubbles attract get-richers and when those bubbles burst, they run away. It's the same in any bubble, and is the same for all of the crypto space, including Steem. Let them go. They will be back when crypto and Steem recover. In the meantime, the faithful, the ones who believe in the platform and are not just here for the money only, can improve our positions.
I also hope that if there are enough posts like yours @nomadsoul, more of those inactive people will have a change of heart and come back. I'm nothing more than a flyspeck on the Steemit landscape, but even I have noticed my feed slow down. And I only follow 150 people.
In a sense, that's a positive in its own way because it... "forces"... me to go explore for new content from new people.
I suppose my motivation to just stick to it has been reading a number of "2nd anniversary posts" from people who've often made the point that they were here and "still actively posting through 7-cent Steem" and if they are sticking with Steemit, why would I not?
My blog is about CATS mixed with philosophical musings and occasional words of wisdom. Partly inspired by @kona's "DailyPetPhotography" challenge, which has now turned into the @dpet channel which is now basically Steemit's de-facto pet community. Pets are popular, and offer a nice "soft" counterpoint to the "harder" content like cryptos, blockchain and economics.
=^..^=
Well you are absolutely right sir, When it comes to writing and posting, i also have slow down my speed, The reason is when i join steemit, i join it as a full time, and at that time the value of steem was around 7$ and that was a glory time and after then, steem kept going down and down, and Even yesterday i sell 90 steem for just 0.86$, that was necessary for me to sale, As by now i am just working on steemhunt and finding some really awesome tech gadgets for the community, I invite you to visit my profile :) Thank you,
Have a good day <3
Saludos amigo @anomadsoul. Un abrazo desde Venezuela...
Hey there traveler! :)
Usually I used to post about science (physics and astrophysics) for steemSTEM, but since I made some regular readers I started writing about some travels/adventures and events I visit.
In the past weeks you could see some kayaking, and lots of Formula one action from Hungaroring.
Currently I am applying for some science translation project so I will be posting few stuff in Serbian langauage for yu-stem too.
I also have some plans on making another series of experimental-kitchen posts when I grab some time. :)
Regarding this period I can just say as a curie curator it is very hard to find any reasonable good post, but we are doing our best to reward persistent ones without rewards. And personally I just invested 150 euros (cca 170$)
Cheers!
I think the unique advantage of Steem over other social media platforms is its biggest weakness at the same time: While nobody has ever been paid for posting on traditional social media platforms, it has been possible to earn a decent income by posting on Steem when crypto prices where high. With the rewards in FIAT currency drastically reduced and posts just paying peanuts, many people need to look for other ways of earning an online income since they have not joined Steem as a social media platform but as a platform to earn an online income.
It is sad to see the #travelfeed becoming emptier by the day, but we still have an active community and while I believe that rewards will be higher in the future, I see the true value of Steem not in its financial incentives, but in the amazing communities that have emerged from this platform attracted by financial rewards - post rewards certainly are a huge motivation to create quality content, but far from the only reason to keep posting on Steem!
As a sndbox steward, you may have read my intro published by @sndbox already - we might have started out on the wrong foot, but if you decide to add my photography and travel posts to your feed by following me I would certainly appreciate it. Or you could consider following @travelfeed to see five resteemed travel posts by different authors in your feed daily!
Great post! I wish everyone would've just focused on posting quality content. I don't pay to much attention to the payouts, because I know that the crypto market is changing frequently (but mostly to a positive direction) and because I do believe in this platform. Also, or me, high-quality content is more important than the quantity, and yes, I do try to post at least once a week, without compromising on the quality of my posts.
I don’t write, but I do read, and vote, loads of steemit blogs. My vote is worth a couple of dollars at the moment, which is a far cry from the higher values of 6 months ago. As for the value of steem, I think if you have a decent amount it gets your blogs looked at.
So if you want a bigger audience, buy more steem. I mean look at me. I only ever wrote one blog (and in Spanish), and I have 147 followers! Where did they all come from?
Answer, they dream of my vote.
So there’s the there’s the tip for those who want followers. Buy some steem and they will come to your blogs.
If you want real life friends, try parking a pink Lambo in your drive. You’ll soon have loads of people to talk with.
Just followed you actually and my jaw just literally dropped seeing your steem power. Oh my G, mine's only 14! Hahaha.
It interest me though as to how did you get all those SP when you have posted just once?
Posted using Partiko Android
Simple! I sold all my wordly possessions to go all-in on steem. Sign up on any crypto exchange which takes fiat, then send them some dollars or euros, then buy some bitcoin. With bitcoin you can buy any crypto you like, including steem. You can also buy bitcoin with your credit card or from localbitcoins.
As you have noticed, the price of crypto moves alot. Some change 10% in minutes. For your safety I advise to use a “limit”, i.e specify the price at which you are willing to trade.
Is there any way to contact with you ? i need to talk with you about some issue
I was just thinking about this the other day, how activity has slowed again, and how it would be a good time to be seen, which is a good reason to put my best into every post, no matter the reward. Anyway I have remained pretty consistent in posting regardless of STEEM price, I do a pretty eclectic variety of things over there, but if you follow my page you'll likely find something interesting in there. Thanks for the reminder about keeping things steeming along during the slow times, a very inspirational post!
I agree with this 100%... even though steem is down, curation efforts are still in full force. Curie curators (as well as other amazing initiatives) are searching high and low for great content. Not the time to stop posting, rather the perfect time to build your following. Thanks for the reminder ❤️
Well i don't know about similar interests, but I write mostly - about Politics, Philosophy and Poetry which am passionate about. I also write about steemit when i feel thee need to.
I had thought it was possible to grow without the help of a large Whale or Dolphin but now am seeing the light....lol
I've never withdrawn and I hope to take advantage of this period and rack up as much steem as possible
The End
You're always welcome to visit my no-shit-post blog!! Ain't seen you for a long time 😉😄
But seriously, we're seeing the same on the Steemitworldmap, good travel posts are getting more and more scarce nowadays. So gonna borrow your post here and do a plug for the map!! Guys, if you write good quality travel posts, pin it to the http://steemitworldmap.com for a chance to be curated.
I don't.know why I forget to pin to the map! I'll try to do better!
Hi, I'm an artist on Steemit. Feel free to check out my blog, I post very regularly and I would love to have more eyeballs to see my drawings :).
In general, I agree with you. People should stay consistent and not drop the platform when the going is tough, but on the other hand, of course it's understandable that most people are discouraged for getting less reward for the same effort. Still better than other sites that pay nothing though.
I second scrawly 🤗 ... wonderful artist, curator and a steemian who is passionate about the platform.
Awww lele 🤗🤗🤗
Love your idea here. Looking back in time since I've posted for the first time, I see I'm blogging mainly about how life happens around me. In my recent Le Dame sans Camellias installments I have this character of Mia that is to be revealed by her observations about the people she meets and the conclusions she makes. I'd like to explore the frequency of sticking labels and tags to people and things around us on the way. Hopefully, Le Dame...piece will close at a certain quiet calmness...
Thanks for the great post.
Hello. I'm only just coming back to blog because of my busy schedule. I do my best to post quality content but I'll let u be the judge. I'd like to invite you and your followers to visit my blog and upvote any articles you like. Great if you could resteem or follow but just visiting and reading some of my articles is enough. Thank you. 😊
The Shadow Contest is going into its 32nd week. The winners for this week and the new topic will be announced tomorrow. There are always a lot of fun and creative entries and I manage to make enough each week to keep the prize pool going. We would love to have you stop by and have fun with us!
Thank you for this most valuable post. I agree 100% @anomadsoul , I have never witnessed this special time on steemit, that some consider splendid. The time when steem was higher. Or high?
I am far to new to steemit to say much more about that time in the past.
What I can say is, that I have been through much in my life - every lesson that life taught me, made me stronger, but also more aware for some aspects of life, that I consider important.
There was a time, when I would have been more than happy to share my thoughts to a community, that values, what I have to say, what I have learned from life and that would take part with discussing my thoughts. Friends and fellows that will become a little or a bigger part in my life. A community, that I could possibly ask, if I need help to sort my thoughts or just give me honest feedback.
In that time steemit did't exist.
There was a time, when I would have been more than thankful to earn a little bit money with my thoughts.
In this time steemit wasn't there. Didn't exist.
Today, I am still living in a world where, sharing thoughts and having the support to open up to a valuable community, is for me something very very special, with a high value.
And I am still very thankful for every penny I find on the street. Therefore I am very very happy for every little penny here on steemit. Today, this time is different now, because there is steemit!
Every penny I earn, I can invest in my support and research projects or into my life. In the end, every penny counts. This is my view on money ...
I personally think the focus and the attitude, that some people have towards money, is different.
For me, making new friends, that like to connect, and maybe value my writing and discuss it with me - in an honest and authentic way - is so valuable, that no money in the world will be enough for me to let this go.
I feel like I have to make a post from this thought and share your great article.
Thank you again very much for your post!
I started homeschooling my kids and could't fund time to post :( I am waiting for more free time for myself :)
I am an artist but did not paint for the past month at all .
Thanks, that was inspiring, not to mention great advice! I blog about travel and food. My main thing at the moment is my series The Best Restaurant in the World, in which I go to every restaurant in the world* and pit them against each other to find the very best.
*Not really. ;)
Thanks for the inspiring article. I agree, we Steemians should stick around and post more often. I'll start by doing it myself. Before I used to posted weekly and this summer it became monthly. I'll try to get back to bi-weekly at least!
That's what I'm doing! I'm posting more than ever and for a while I've converting the Steems I get into SP.
You should sometime have a look at my posts! ;-)
I'm always supporting you... I also criticized you when I thought that I should :-o
But I do it for good!!!
It's always a good plan to power up, good thinking!
I'll have a look to your posts.
When was that? I don't remember the critiques.
Hahaha, maybe it's better this way!!!
No, really it was once you published a post explaining a shitpost you published earlier...
But really, I think you make a good job and that's why I thought I should speak to you...
@anomadsoul Great post. I posted about this a while back. My feed has changed a lot since maybe January - a lot. I have a business, so I am not always able to write these LONG blogs here. I use steepshot and videos when I can. I love blogging, but my time is limited and valuable. Good stuff man. Much success to you.
I feel you about limited time. I found a different approach, commenting here and there when I find a few minutes to take a brake. Engagement in the community is just as important as posting new content.

Hello @anomadsoul,
I blog about life in general. As regards quality posting, I am doing my best since I was not a professional blog before I just steemit.
Funny enough, my of the people follow are very active, even with the low steem price.
I am on board. I have been online for weeks but reluctant to make post considering so many things but above to avoid spamming anyone. I think i am reluctant to beg for upvote and want to do more of studying, i want to still rest a little after 7 months of onboarding newbies(though no sp to keep them active)
I just want to take the month for studying, relationship, project and commenting.
This is nice. I'm just reworking my blog, trying to go steady. Up till now I've been really unfocussed but now I'm doing quality literary and historical posts which are huge interests for me. My first post in that line should be up later today and I hope, to be followed by more action subsequently.
Thanks for the words of encouragement!
Hello.
It is a great post! I am a beginner and did not know what is happening well. Your post definitely encouraged me to keep to post.
Thanks!
I couldn't agree more. I am coming from the perspective of someone who was really struggling to get noticed when activity was very high and is now receiving more attention than before.
"The post quality is overall dropping but, if we continue to post with our regular quality, chances are some big stakeholder votes our posts." I can attest to this, personally.
I would also add that it is easier to engage with other dedicated users because there is less competition for attention. It seems to me, that it is to everyone's benefit if those of us who really want this place to work and are interested in producing good content interact with each other.
You make some fantastic points here. I haven’t posted in over a week, but that’s only due to the fact the I haven’t had any spare time. I still find it surprising that I make anything for posting on a social media site. It’s nice, but certainly not the main reason I stick around. I’ve really enjoyed the quality content and the quality of people that I have met during my time here. So I say keep on steemin’!!! :)
I agree, people should keep posting! Great blog post @anomadsoul!
Totally agree with continuing to post. This is the time to get even better 👍👍 - btw, you are welcome to come to my posts 😂😂😂😆😆😆
I think many people forget that even if you post now and the prices raise later, it will be almost the same as if the prices would have been high right now. Especially with not SBD but rather STEEM payed out.
It is pretty upsetting to see a post made with much effort only to earn a few cents. But then I still keep on steeming because: 1. It is what I am used to do everyday; 2. I am bored and Steemit keeps me energized and; 3. Steemit has become my "outlet" to pour just about whatever. So yes, I write just about whatever -- life in general. Btw, I do #ulogs and freewrites. You are very much welcome to check on my blog.
Enjoying this "lull" on Steem and hodl until the big "storm" comes!
I am barely a month old here on Steemit. I have read how Steem is at the moment, but somehow it doesn't affect me. Lol, haven't been there, I do not know that.
So, yes my "pond" is pretty warm. I am Steeming everyday, reading, upvoting and commenting posts. I make sure to post every single day. My posts are about random things. I am fond of joining contests and my latest post was a writing contest initiated by @mermaidvampire on "what would I do if I were a Steemit whale." You could take a look at it if you please sir. I would very much appreciate it.
Anyway, this post made think deep on the goings-on here on Steemit. Yes I am definitely on board!
