Today, I am officially celebrating my first MILESTONE on Steemit. Yes! 100 followers!
Steemit has been fun for me. It's been a month since I joined Steemit. I was invited by a friend/workmate of mine (@gwapology) to join, so I did.
I am really amazed by this platform. I find myself enjoying to see and read interesting stories, photos and blogs.
I noticed that people here are nice and respectful, unlike on other social media platforms, people tend to be rude. Online bashing or bullying is a often seen and experienced. But on Steemit? Uh-uh. I can say it feels safe here. Do you agree?

I usually post about baking and recipes, but last week something happened to my colleague which really made me stop and think. I wrote a post about it on here entitled 'What makes you happy?', and got a really good response which gave me food for thought. I started to think about it properly, and re-discovered some of my old interest in Psychology and human behaviour. (My MSc was in Clinical and Health Psychology, I now work in Clinical Research, so I don't use the Psychology part very often!) It was just a random post that re-ignited my thoughts and interest, and for that I am thankful. Yesterday I was re-visiting love and attachment theory, but more on that later! :-)

I'm super new but I think I've got a little story.
Yesterday was another day immersed in trying to understand many of the mechanics of steemit. I have a couple of posts up but they really just exist to break the ice for me and see how things move and are upvoted. They haven't done very well in upvotes and I started getting frustrated.
I decided to take a break and went out with my wife to the local watering hole. I came back and jumped on Discord. It was about 3 am and the people in PAL were playing something like 20 questions. I'm good at 20 questions. I ended up having fun and winning 1 SBD. It was my first SBD.
I sent some of it to Bellyrub already.
It was a cool experience to be able to just have fun with the community and actually see a gain. I think that's what this site is really trying to do. It's a hell of an idea. To immerse yourself in a community and actually get back what you put in.

@happyhoneys - I scared with a 3.1% upvote from @randowhale you lost a lot of money. You can find more about the value of randowhale upvotes at my blog where I track series of randowhale upvotes and their value. At the moment I scare all around and below 4% is a loss. 3.1% is a decent loss..
@minnowhelp what do you mean? @happyhoneys paid $2 for upvote. Are you saying she made a loss at 3.1% upvote? So she got less than $2 back?

best use of boost is on 13 hours before post pay out =D
That is not good. @randowhale is underpowered due to his voting power at 43%. Try and wait for it to get to 50%+. This is difficult because so many people using the service. I highly recommend you use @booster. You may use any amount above $1. Every time Booster is powered up at 100% all the people that have paid will get pro rata vote. The upvote is normally every 2.4 hours. I highly recommend you give it a go at $2 like you did with randowhale and see if you get more. So far I have used it 2 time at $2 and always get $4+ back.

the advantage of using boost early will make your post more exposure

Congratulations - uprooted and resteemed. I am thrilled to hear you think so much of the community here. My best experience on Steemit so far was receiving an upvote from a whale for a comment I made on some random cool image that someone posted, from which I earned $14.94. I was quite surprised and happy about that as you can imagine. But a close second is finding your positive comments about Steemit on this post. It's great to see people having fun as well as earning a little money.
