With a little bit of planning and intention, breakfast can be beneficial fuel every morning.

Food is important not only because it fuels our physical bodies, but also because it has the ability to bring us closer together. The purpose of the #sunrise-surprise series is to share ideas about food, especially breakfast. Eating breakfast is a simple way to get the day started with energy!

Though I am not following any specific published diet, my morning meals are usually lighter fare, so most of these breakfast posts are healthful foods that are fast and straightforward to prepare. If your breakfast is on the heavy side, no worries. Share your breakfast with us! (But only if you want to :] Feel free to use #sunrise-surprise for yourself too.)

#sunrise-surprise is breakfast. Enjoy!

ASAP Fast Toast Breakfast- What's In It?

steemit-enternamehere-sunrise-surprise-asap-fast-toast-breakfast-step1-bread.jpg
Bread, of course, is a useful ingredient when making toasted bread. Step 1 to this whole deal is get yer bread. Also grab that PB & J. Today's toast features crunchy dark roasted organic peanut butter made by Santa Cruz and no sugar added black currant fruit spread by St. Dalfour.

Toast the bread to your liking. Looks like someone was in a hurry, that toast sure is pale. Oh, and throw some raw carrot pieces on the plate too because they're fast and crunchy.

Schmear, slather or spread on the toast toppings as you see fit. If the carrots are too bland alone, apply a dusting of cinnamon for extra flavor.

Hahaha, at first I was trying to figure out what food you used to make the eyes XD

I made them with love:-D

Just realized I hadn't heard from you in ages. Yours is a voice I miss!

Hope all's well and you're healthy and still smiling that marvellous smile.

Reading this left a smile on my heart. Thanks for checking on me good sir

Ha haa, love the Googly Eye breakfast. You should put that in the Googly Eye challenge by @fraenk. It's a lot of fun. My only concern is not choking on the eyes. Risky breakfast ( :
And as for AB & J in the morning, I hate to admit, but it's a regular. (the A is almond butter...) I like your carrot addition, a real mix with the toast. Good idea. Have a nice Sunday.

Thanks for sharing the googly eyes contest, it does look like fun. Why do you hate to admit to ab&j for breakfast? It's delicious energy.

Sunday here was great. We got breakfast with my dear old dad, ran a few errands and threw some discs for practice.

What about yours?

You're welcome. I keep meaning to do more Googlies. I even carry some in my bike bag, but never remember to stick them to anything to photograph. Thanks for the reminder. More of those 'somedays'. It is a fun contest. And writing little stories about what I create would be fun. So many post ideas, so little time.

Weekend seemed king of busy. Saturday I went to a local protest rally and then a free garden plant thingy, then spent a lot of Sunday doing chores. Have a pump-house with an electric pump I'm trying to get going so the large garden can be watered for a cheap price. Paying for city water destroys the wallet quickly. That and still messing with the goofy weedeater. There's another post or two there too. At least I'm not bored.

I guess I say that about the AB&Honey toast because it is a lot of bread. I sometimes think I eat too much bread. Think we talked about this before, but I got used to it doing long, hard outdoor work for carb energy, and I think I eat too many carbs now. But it tastes so good. Used to have bees for honey making, THAT was great. But they all died of hive collapse. But still have some left. LOVE that stuff with the almond butter.

That's a busy weekend for sure. Your garden pump house project sounds intriguing. In addition to the wallet drain issue, plants seem to enjoy water from non-city sources more, that's the case around here anyway. You all may have better quality water than here. Yeah, no boredom in sight for miles! You always have something in the works.

Bread, it's so tasty, isn't it!? If we had this bread talk in the past, it's not coming to me now. Carbs are perfect energy for hard work, IMO. They're short-lived energy unless they have fat or protein accompanying (or all 3 together is good too!). Of course, I am biased here because I am a fellow toast with nut butter and honey fan. Fresh honey is on the list of foods to taste. Giving up carbs altogether doesn't appear to be anywhere on my near horizon either...Hive collapse? Sounds disastrous, how does that happen?

Do peanuts grow well in your region? What growing zone are you in?

A fun weekend indeed. And the pump project is growing by the minute, which I guess is normal. Now we have to replace it all. But it WILL be cheaper, and as you say, probably better than the city water. No chlorine, etc. Though I DID learn recenlty, we have less than other parts of the city. The longer the pipes run underground, the more you get, because they have to chlorinate it much heavier for bacteria, etc. I guess from the pipes. Then again, when you really think about it, getting water at the turn of a spiggot, 24-7, HAS to come from somewhere, and bacteria, etc is all around. So there is no magic bullet, as they say. We take so much of our life of convenience for granted. Or granite, if you'r in the rocks, nuarrch, nuarrch.
We do have good water here. And tastes good too.
As for peanuts, they don't grow them here. May not be hot enough, I'm not sure. But seems more of a southern crop, which suggests: HOT.

I am a bread nut, it's just that I have friends that are now No Wheat and No gluten. WOnder sometimes if there is something to it. But I just fill up best on good old bread. Yesterday I had french toast with almond butter and real maple syrup and plum/apple compote and fake sausage for breakfast. I'm not giving up my grand, holiday breakfast, friends. ( :

As for hive collapse, they think it is due to neonicotinoids, which often come on plants from box stores. They spray them, I think, for bugs? Not sure exactly. I'm sure Wikipedia would know more than me. But it is a simple fix, and only in Europe, that I've heard, are they banning them. But the bees are dying in droves, and it is a HUGE problem. Not only honey, but obviously, for pollination. I miss our bees. Only have a gallon and a half of honey left. Sigh. We need to get some more.
Toast, almond butter and honey on, I say. Cheerio(s)

Hey ^^ I made your name( without @) your code for you know what :D There are 2 redemptions, 1 for each set ( same code). If you have any issues let me know ^^

AH! FUCK ME! Too late to upvote this!
I love wild berry jam too. You should make a post about munchies night :)
Hope everything is good on that side, loving vibes on your way. Cheers!

No worries on the lateness.

Munchies night post, eh? You've got that category on lock already - French bread, Nutella n cerveza, how could I possibly top that stellar munchie combination?

One day you're gonna make some lucky lad (or lass?) very happy. Glad to see an update from Sandrina's world!

BTW Did you catch the bouquet at your friend's wedding?

Why do I only see this message now?
Nobody threw the bouquet! How lame, isn't it?

I'm extremely sad. I will never get married. How will I handle that? Here is the maximum expression of my sadness!

You'll find the one you're looking for, probably when you least expect it. From my experience, marriage is not the golden ticket to happiness. Since the beginning of July I've been working a lot IRL, almost none on steemit. Although I have been quiet, I'm still here :^)

It's good to hear you're learning more about the state of your health, my internet friend, please take care!

Did you stop to post at all??

Ah, I love it when I click "Post" on a reply and come back 2 weeks later to find it never actually posted.

I've been scarce, but I'm around. I've only been busy with work life. I was glad to read you are still healthy! Soon I'll fall into a routine and I'll be spamming you again in the comments :-)

Heyy how are you? :)
Just so you know, if you like some cool posts, resteem them and I'll upvote :D
Hope you'll post soon too ^^

I've never been better! How are things for you? Thanks for the support, I'll bear that in mind when resteeming. Yes, more posts are coming. I've undertaken a new project recently that requires a large chunk of my time and attention IRL. I've been quiet on steemit, but I'm still lurking in the wings! Thanks for being patient :^D

Sweet! New projects are always exciting :D Good luck with it ^^
I'm great, soon gonna start working irl again, so trying to post more till then. :D
Also glad to hear you're still lurking hihi ;)

Hoping all is well in your corner of the southern world. Haven't seen you about much lately. Though the summer is incredibly busy here, and I can imagine that is true for you as well. The site gets very quiet in the summer, tha's for sure. Well, just checking in and all that sort of stuff. Cheerio(s) (which is better for you than Capt. Crunch...except on Saturday mornings in from of the set, after 27 bowls).

Thank you so kindly for checking in on me, apologies for my sudden absence. All is well. July has been intensely hot and productive for me, and has demanded my attention away from steemit. I'm not gone, just lurking around quietly. I'll be back in full effect before you know it! Take care :)
