I've had many days like this where I wake up enthused for the day and slowly that enthusiasm gets sucked out of me little by little. Music is a great way to breathe some life back into it and take away some of the pain, only leaving a dull ache most times. Beautifully written @snook 🦋

Thank you so much for your reply. Life is really a rollercoaster some days but we do what we can to ride it out and today I had a good day so can't complain. I love Hive too. I've been able to express things here that I probably wouldn't have done elsewhere and meeting genuine people that are dealing with similar reminds me that we are never truly alone in our battles. Thanks for the post, it moved me.

after I took Sam home - we went on retreat and just got back! but now i'm back for a month before i leave again lol
hmmm this post. i'm finally starting to come out of the trenches (i think. lol) but i am not so far away from them that I can't remember the feel of that dirt covering over me in my hole!
my friend and I used to say we want side by side holes. LOL with just enough space to reach out and hold each other's hand. hehehe
i just took a deep sigh. I hope that you're getting rest. cuz we know how important that is. the mind starts to unravel when we push too hard. (i'm preaching to the choir lol....and crackikng up because its 11:36 right now and my day literally began at 5:45 am ROFLLLLLLLLLL) blah . why is it so hard to find that balance? LOL i don't know. i dont' think i'll ever know.

The Beatles version of “a little help from my friends” is nice but has no soul, so I knew straight away you’d be going for a version with heart! Gosh and I’m pretty sure you picked the best one 💕
I love the very real struggle you outline here. Some day it’s a molehill, some days it’s an endless mountain. Are we the mole, but we forgot? Perhaps we are the snake that ate the mole? None of this matters much, when you are in the dirt. The sun is persistent, and will poke through a hole to find us there… yelling for friends “she’s here!” And they will pull us forward, if not out of the ground ❤️
My dad always talks about this time in music too. I remember being a teen and listening to kind crimson, about 7 minutes had passed and the song was still going. What the heck? 12 minutes pass. 20 approaches- Dad didn’t you mean this was an ALBUM? No, songs just weren’t created for radio then…
They day of radio is all but over, yet the 3-5 minute song standard stayed. None of my generation commonly experienced music by playing the whole album again and again. I’m going to endeavor to do that with the Rush album you shared today- should be easy, I love them!

I really hope things get better for you and if you can at all, try to remove yourself from thoughts of past and future and spend some time in nature being completely present. It may help? Ya, I far preferred listening to full albums aswell and growing to tolerate them, then like them, then love them. Everything in this modern age can be so rushed and disposable, we could all do with slowing down and smelling the coffee and hearing the birdsong more often.
