Paul Is One Of The Most Awesome Chainsaw Carvers In The World!

in #woodcarvers4 years ago (edited)

I mean this cat is unreal. When he saw some professional woodcarvers using chainsaws in 2012 he knew it would be a fun hobby so he started carving himself and his pieces sold immediately.

Here's Paul. He makes the most unique benches!

That sent him on his new career which he's been very successful at. He does a huge variety of carvings, any type of animal but the most impressive are from large trees.

Here's one of my favorites:

His website here is crammed with the most amazing carvings but I'll just give you an idea of the skill, variety, and types with a selection of photos from the site.

On this project he had help from a friend. The bear is 18 feet tall! He doesn't give the location but it's somewhere on the East Coast of the U.S. Paul lives in Pennsylvania, by the way.

Here he is getting the color right by burning the surface with a propane torch:

They got the head finished first and worked their way down:

The Tree House carvings he does are so much fun!

He wants people to contact him with their ideas and he'll get to work on a design. And obviously he'll do almost any animal or figure.

Even butterflies!

There are many more designs and types of carvings that he does which are found on his website listed above including tables, wall hangings and "Wooden Indians."

Oh, he also does "Cute!" lol.

Awesome artwork! Congrats.

Howdy introvert-dime! I'm so glad you like the carvings and thanks so much for commenting!

That eagle is fantastic. This guy is a pro.

Following.

Howdy there anarchy999! I agree about the eagle and Paul. I'd love to have the Bison or the Eagle carving. Thanks so much. Oh, you are a Bitcoin expert? Do you follow Teeki Tawari?

he has extraordinary art. everything looks very unique and skilled. I like that big bird. it looks like an eagle. we in Indonesia Garuda bird made as a symbol of the country.

Howdy aulia1993! Oh, that bird is the symbol of Indonesia? That is very cool! Are you guys on total lockdown over there because of the virus? Thanks so much for commenting!

Yes Burug is our pride.
no. We are not locked. Because most of the Indonesian economy is weak. how is your place?

So it is business and commerce like normal there? Is the virus spreading in your country?
Here we are all in a stay-at-home order unless you need food, medicine or some important business like the bank.

Awesome stuff! I like the eagles best.

Howdy sir keithboone! Are you back or have you been back? lol.. I'm so glad you like the Eagle, since you are an expert at taking photos of them. I thought he got all the dimensions right. Good to see you again!

Thanks sir Janton! :-) Yes, I've been posting on Hive since the first day. I got interested again when all the fuss was going on with witnesses on Steem vs Justin Sun & Tron (the Communist Party of China if you ask me...)

I agree sir Keith, the Chinese connection with Sun is very strong and suspicious. Maybe they are actually pulling the strings, who knows. I'm still on steemit but am powering down and will probably leave it.

Yes, I'm powering down there as well, not that I have much. I am also powering down bits and pieces of other things I have like EOS, and BAT, and I'll use those to buy hive.

Oh so you are very dedicated sir Keith! I use Brave now so I'm slowly building up a supply of those BATs. I think I'll hang onto them though in case Hive doesn't do well in the long term. I think they probably will but just in case they don't.

My steem was so low, this is basically a chance to double it by moving to hive and then I can top it up with some other stuff. Check my graph... going up faster than corona virus! LOL

Thanks for sharing brother! That was really cool to see! They were all really great, the one that jumped out at me was the vibrant red cardinal bird!

That Cardinal is a real attention getter that's for sure! I wonder how big it is. This guy is great. He says he'll work with whatever budget you have and he travels all over I think. It's pretty awesome and I like that he did the big Jesus one as well as an angel! I may be wrong but he just looks like a Brother to me.

Wonder what I could get for a costco pack of toilet paper??? LOL

lol...can you get TP from Costco? I went to stores this week and they are all still totally out!

Not sure, I got some before the craziness start happening! Strange they would still be out! Gesh! Stay safe!

It's crazy, the same hot ticket items are all still sold out in all the stores around here. I think people are still hoarding.

THEY have to be...strange times.....

Yep, this guy is good at what he is doing. No doubt about it. All are good, very good.

Very good as in awesome or just okay good? lol...I think as an artist this is another area which you would do very well in sir Vincent! Yes, wear a sleaveless shirt like he does and have people clamoring for your work. I can see it now!

Howdy Jonboy. Nah. Not my area of interest. I didn't know you clamor for men in sleeveless shirt. lol

lol...not me but I admire them if they are in shape! It WOULD be a tremendous amount of work, too ambitious for me too.
How's the numbers looking over there, are they going down as far as infections and hospitalizations?

Is the government telling people how to boost their immune systems? This thing is easily defeated by doing that...for most people anyway.

Unfortunately, the infections are continuing to rise and we are going to be locked down on the 7th for a month. That should be fun.

Oh that's not good news at all. Are the rules the same or are they stricter for getting out and around? What about your daily walks?

They are stricter. Schools will be closed. Non-essential shops will be closed, but the essential ones like supermarkets and clinics, pharmacies... are still open. Basically, it's stay home unless you have something very important or urgent to do.
My daily walk is not affected. I can still go out and walk. 😊

Wow this is so good........and Paul himself is not bad either hahaaha

lol...yeah he's a great looking guy wearing those sleaveless shirts and having people clamoring for his sculptures..he really has it all together! lol. He travels alot, I don't know if he travels to South Africa though!

These carvings are remarkable. It’s hard to pick a favorite. The carved animals are amazing and the tree house exceptional.

I agree redheadpei, I think he would do great in Canada too with all the variety of trees up there. One of these would look great in your backyard. Or maybe a sculpture in the front yard and a bench in the back!

Cowboy, there are plenty of tree here. He could carve some into birds and animals in my driveway by the highway and everyone going by could enjoy them. 😃

I agree, that would be amazing. Hey he said he could work with any budget, you should contact him. lol.

There is a wood carver here who does nice work. He carved an angel on one yard from a tree and a moonshiner in another spot around town.

An angel and a moonshiner! lol..what a nice variety. That is really cool though and if they coat those with something they can last for generations.

LOL @janton uite a combination! The moonshiner is coated with something but I noticed the wood is darkening in areas of the figure. Awesome carving though.
I’ll have to do a post on them.

Now this guy has real talent , and a great collection of chainsaws to work with. If the marketing dept of Stihl has any sense they'd be giving him all his saws for free and promoting him and their saws in their advertising.
Thanks for sharing this very talented individual.
Sult

I agree sir sultnpapper..about Stihl. His website shows him with a Stihl executive but there wasn't any information to go with it. Hopefully they are sponsoring him or working with him in some way.

Using him in their commercials would help them and he could retire whenever he wanted. lol. Not that he'd stop carving, he's having too much fun but his financial future would be secure.

Incredible artwork! Amazing that a chainsaw can be used like that!

Howdy Melinda! I agree, I'm amazed at such skill, I have no idea how he gets the proportions so perfect! I think you should order some kind of bird carving for your backyard!

Stihl is the only brand of chainsaw I use.... But I just cut em down. I have no talent.

And I can build one hell of a campfire.....

Very interesting sir krazzytrukker. Do you like the artwork?

Nice to see you are alive. What have you been doing all week, driving?

Most of it. 9-10 hr. daze.

Usually takes about 4 to get there, 2-3 hr. load/unload times then back home. I do my 10 hr breaks at home this way.

Is Mrs J still going to work? My Kelly @pooky-jax is only going in on tuesday & thursdays.

sir krazzytrukker! 9-10 hour daze. You're in a 9-10 hr daze? Oh my bad. lol..your days are that long! got it.

Yes sir Mrs. J. is still going into work, they've gone on a skeleton crew scenario to limit exposure to everyone and have cut all visits, even attorney visits. They've also cut the days they have to work so one week she only works 2 days and the other week she only works 3 days! lol.. so that part is really nice because she's taking classes to become a public insurance adjuster. We know a guy who is doing that and wants to expand his business so he will train her and hire her.

I'm learning currency trading while she's doing that but I will be helping her with her thing when she gets going. She's had enough of me wasting my time steemit/hive, she says 2 yrs is enough wasted time with nothing to show for it. So I'm cutting my time down here.

It's fun but fun don't pay the bills.

The art work was not of this world. The man is obviously an Alien. To talented to be Human. And the Tree Houses wpuld be so cool for cat tree houses.

I agree sir krazzytrukker! Hey he says he works with any budget, I can see him doing a big cat for your front yard! Or at the entrance to your drive, you'd be known as that Cat House! lol.

I would put it in this room...

Did You know We have a room dedicated to the Furr Kitz....?!?

The Catification Room =^,,^=

Hey look at the master craftsman at work with his chainsaw! lol...that is a cool shot of the cat's room, yes I knew you had it but that view is really great.

How is Florida doing with the virus anyway? Is everyone following the rules?

Heavy traffic this morning in Jacksonville FLA. But not nearly the usual gridlock....

I am a Rough Craftsman at best. But I love the rustic backwoodsy cabinish look, so it suits me well.
Here are the steps i made for 2 doorways. Bugs will not eat these ones. The wooden ones only last 6-8 yrs. They rot away.

Concrete Steps Backdoor 2019.jpeg

Howdy Janton! I see you found another amazing artist! That is truly impressive what he can create with a chainsaw! WOW!

Howdy Miss Lena! I'm so glad you like his work. I think he could go nuts in Canada with all those trees!

Yeah well, hopefully he cuts only the dead trees! And I am sure Canadians would love his work too!

That's a good question Miss Lena, I didn't even think about that..if the trees are already dead or not. The wood looks excellent on the tree trunks that he's carving but I suppose they could have just recently died. If they aren't you would consider that to be unethical?

Well, it depends where he get's the wood. Sometimes people cut trees from their properties for one reason or other. I disagree with that, but if get's tree like that, at least he makes it into an art. But I think there is enough sick trees out here that he can use. The trunk can look good for very long time, before is eaten by termites.

Anyway, thank you for commenting and subscribing to my Blog. Well I am guessing it's you who left that comment, although you registered as John. I will be sending thank you newsletter in couple weeks, when I get more subscribers.

Also, I am not sure if you have Facebook account, but I found really funny page:
ONLY IN CANADA Well not everything is funny, but lots of it is. For example 😂😂😂
92279251_3804668516385260_6666399420805808128_n.jpg

lol...that's a great meme! I love that one. I don't go on facebook except when Mrs. J. is going through her feed and comes upon funny sayings and memes and such, it's been very good for that, especially lately.

Yes that was me John on your site. You disagree with people cutting ANY trees on their property? What if they need to make a clearing for the location of their house?

Howdy Janton! Well, thank you again for visiting and subscribing, I really appreciate it! Oh and I am glad you find that meme funny. I knew you would, lol.

About the trees, it depends! I can understand if someone is renovating an old house or building an extension on their house. But I have seen trees cut down on properties for no apparent reason and that breaks my heart!

@janton, man these are awesome! What a talent! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed them all. Hard to pick a favorite....

Howdy blueeyes8960! I'm so glad you liked them, I agree that they're amazing. I'm keeping track of his site in case I decide to have him carve a big Bison or Coyote!

Nothing on the level of your guy, but a good friend of mine carved this into a tree in his own yard when lightning struck it and killed the tree. Not bad for a first time! (Sorry it's sideways, I didn't know it was going to show up like that)

20190430_151521.jpg

Oh that's so cool! Did he coat it with something so it lasts?

Amazing artistic ability - looks like he found his perfect niche!

Hope you're doing fine. Just stopping by to say hello. Hello!

Howdy youhavewings! So good to hear from you, what a wonderful surprise! Sorry for the long response time, I've only been checking into Hive every few weeks. I need to come back at least every week, I think I'll work on that.

But anyway I had to leave the platform or my wife was gonna kill me. I was spending too much time on it and now I'm working on projects around the house and our property and will soon be looking for a real job in the real world.

Are you on here alot these days? How are things going for you and your family..I forget where you're at..North Carolina or someplace right? lol. I'm probably way off sorry.

Thanks so much for getting in touch with me. Let me know how you're doin.
Blessings to you and yours!

Hi There!
I imagine you were online 'a lot' with being a top poster! LOL Hope things are going well for you and your wife. The last time we talked, you were starting a non-profit to help women in need.

I was trying to be on here more with the 5 minute writing. Thought this would help me get back in the saddle but alas my mother has been in the hospital twice and is very sick and in post hospital rehabilitation/skilled nursing :( She is declining very quickly so all my time is going to her and my family right now. As soon as the dust settles, I'll be back on. I have missed you and all the 'ole Steemit friends.

And your memory is very good - It is North Carolina. And you are Texas. I think you all are about to get more freedom April, right? Ugh We are still in phase 2. My mother is in isolation and quarantine and it is so inhumane.

Blessings to you and your family! Check in every now and then?
