More "lose weight without exercising" garbage for sale!

When I first saw this product I thought maybe it was a joke or an article being written as satire but sadly, it is not a joke, this is a real product that was made based on a kickstarter, presumably funded by people that are desperate for a "cure" that doesn't exist and as they say: "a fool and his money are quickly parted."

The company is BionicGym and thankfully they have almost zero credibility in any sort of actual fitness circles. Their product is yet another one of these contraptions that you plug in, put on your body, and then lie down and the calories just fall off of you.

Every lazy person's dream, this product claims to be peer-reviewed and approved by the FDA (which is a bizarre statement to make since it is not a pharmaceutical and you don't consume it) but I doubt that any of that has actually been done.

It is meant to have been born from the mind of an Irish Doctor named Louis Crowe who one day went for a cold swim and "noticed" how his body was shaking from shivering and somewhere along the line he determined that this would help people to lose weight. Apparently, he then dedicated 20 years of his life to proving that shivering is what our bodies do to attempt to stay warm and in the meantime, our bodies burn calories. This is actually true, although doing a web search for the man and his research is a rather fruitless endeavor. If he is a real person in the medical community, which i am not convinced that he is, his information is buried or was done prior to the internet existing.

Either way, his research did not lead to the creation of some plug in leg braces that are meant to burn 1000 calories while you are on the sofa binge-watching Fuller House

Absurd claims are very common in the loosely regulated fitness and supplement industry, but it is extremely rare that some sort of quick fix fad would come with such a massive price-tag.

Their website had a slew of celebrities apparently endorsing the product, one of these people is Ellen DeGeneres but just like all the other celebrity quotes they feature, a search for their involvement with the company produces zero results. It wouldn't surprise me if a celebrity or two actually DID endorse the product because celebs get behind bogus products all the time. Dr Oz has built an entire career doing very little else, but i would be very surprised if any of these testimonials by famous people are actually genuine.

Look folks, I'll say it again but in a different way: Other than getting gastric bypass surgery or liposuction there is no such thing as magic weight loss and other than starving yourself, there is no way to lose weight by lying on the sofa.

This product is completely despicable because it is being released now and they have the audacity to try to prey on the fact that much of the world is in lockdown right now and it is understandable that a side-effect of this lack of movement that people the world over are gaining weight as a consequence. Never miss an opportunity to rob people at their lowest and most vulnerable, right?

I cant imagine many people out there falling for this sort of thing but in the event that you are as gullible as a toddler... don't do it!

Unfortunately, people are going to have to face the reality that the only way to be physically fit, is to get physical about it. It isn't going to happen on the sofa.

what a joke. So it shakes your legs and you lose weight. Seems totally legit.
